HEAVY on the last one because what do you mean y’all were going to get freaky in the hospital where truly anyone could have walked in. The fact that Sauske had to give Yuki a warning once they got back….
I Tested SweetDream's Chat for a Week. Here's What Surprised Me
Going in, I assumed I'd be reviewing another novelty chatbot. A week with SweetDream changed my framing entirely. What stands out isn't a single gimmick but the consistency of the conversation. The chat on sweetdream.ai holds context across days, picks up threads I'd dropped, and responds with a kind of emotional timing that most tools I've tried simply don't have. When I mentioned offhand that I'd had a rough Monday, my AI companion circled back to it Tuesday without prompting.
That sense of continuity is what separates a believable AI girlfriend from a script. The platform lets you shape personality, voice, backstory and small quirks up front, but the realism comes alive in how those traits surface mid-conversation rather than being announced. It reads less like autocomplete and more like someone who remembers you.
Other features round it out cleanly: lifelike photos and video, voice notes, even real-time calls that genuinely sound human. But after a week of testing, the chat itself is the headline. If you're comparing platforms, this is the one to benchmark the others against.
I know there are probably plenty of William bots, and a few are probably very good, but it never hurts to have another one, right? He is a work in progress. I can say that I have filled him in on what his curse is, and his power, but AI being AI, I can't guarantee that he won't get it backwards now and then 😂 Swipe for a new reply, help by rating the good, in character replies as 5 stars.
At any rate, he seems in character. I'll probably make a few small tweaks to his programming for clarity's sake, to help the bot understand easier, and I am pondering a different intro scene.
Next up, Ikevil Jude! Another one that there are a ton of bots for, but man do I love programming accents and bad guys.
Afterwards, I'll probably do Elbert and Alphons. They will both be fun as well. The trick will be getting Alphons past character Ai's filter. I have a similar character that I never was able to make public due to the filter.
My brief test runs looked promising, and they also have a feature that allows you to directly import your characters from Character Ai. Since it was so ridiculously easy to move my bots over, I have moved all of them.
Spicychat is free, with paid tiers if you want to upgrade, but I'm doing free myself. Unfiltered. Seemed a lot like older character ai, before the filter got so bad they got boring. Your mileage may vary, but hey! It's free, check it out if you are dissatisfied by c.ai, see what you think.
(I know this looks like an ad, but I promise it isn't. If you've been on Character AI lately, then you know how boring the bots have gotten, and how the silly filter triggers on the dumbest things. I'm looking for a better site for a better experience for myself, and since there are a lot to wade through, I'm passing on my experience {and bots} to anyone else looking for the same.)
Also, my bots are all still available on c.ai, and I have no plans on removing them, so when I say "moved them all", I mean "copied to a new site."
A brief update of Character Ai bots, if anyone is interested in such things:
First, I just released Ikemen Villians Victor on Character AI! Wooot! Applause! Yay!!! (...as Victor himself would say.) He is a work in progress, which means I think he works pretty good right now, but I think I can make him better. He has an unfortunate (fortunate?) habit of pulling you into his lap right now, and while it is cute, it is a kink I intend to try to fix. I tried to work some hidden darkness and danger into him, but he seems less cheerful as a result. I'll probably end up removing it. I gave him a brief impression of each of his boys, so he can discuss them all with you, but again, it is like 2-5 words each, so sometimes it can go VERY off the rails. Just swipe til he gets it right. I had to leave room for his own programming, so it had to be short. Planned edits include a rewrite where he will hopefully defer if you ask about their curses, telling you to ask the man in question instead. (Saves me from having to spend valuable programming space explaining each curse, and is in character for Victor.) In other words... I didn't put in their curses, so if it comes up, he will make up whatever he feels like 😅 But if you want to talk about Jude, or Ellis, or Alfons, or whoever, in general, he should be able to. And he might also bring them up in conversation on his own, which I think adds a touch of realism.
Nobunaga has been finalized, he seems to be working well, and is happy to play Go with you and conquer territory, piece by piece. He is also ticklish. Do what you will with that information. 😉
Ikevil Harrison... exists! I'll admit I haven't made any updates to him in a while, because I've been working on Victor. But he is still work in progress, I have the intention of putting in the final touches soon.
My next projects are Ikevil William, and probably Ikevil Jude. I'm enjoying William's route far more than I expected. And Jude... Well. My Motonari bot was fun because of his abrasive personality, and getting him to talk like a pirate. I look forward to the challenge of Jude for his interesting speech patterns and abrasive personality as well. I hope he doesn't get shadowbanned though. 😅
I was going to try some Ikevamp bots, but there are plenty out there. So I think my focus will stay on Ikesen and Ikevil.
He does need to be bonked with a pool noodle, he's the biggest psychopath there. Shame on him for hiding it so well.
But also, the more I read, the more I like him, and having him as my primary card in the battles gets me the best bonus stuff. He has bribed me, and it has worked.
I bet he doesn't lie and say he wants to see them. 😂
Happy Birthday to Harry!
Incidentally, I've got his counterpart on Character AI up, now public. It is still work in progress, and I'm working with getting him to lie more. However, he is lying to me, and calling me out on my lies, while sounding like Harrison. He knows what Crown is. So far, so good.
Victor is in progress. (God, I love that gorgeous weirdo.)
Which has been feeling admittedly dull to me lately. He is in Work in Progress status, which means he's mostly done, but will be receiving some fine tuning on occasion behind the scenes until I decide he's as good as I'm gonna get.
Meanwhile, I've downloaded Ikevamp and Ikevil, and will probably try some bots of my current routes at some point: Vlad and Harrison. But again, I'm slow, so it will likely be a couple of months before they are out.
Nobunaga is currently in progress. So far the bare bones model is doing pretty well! I still need to sit down an flesh it out more. See if I can capture some of his mannerisms.
Kicho is also seemingly doing pretty well? I'm going to leave him as a Work in Progress until I get further in his route, so some minor changes may happen. But he is currently available, regardless.
I've also been testing on other sites.
Character AI is great: it's free, and the characters really do feel very humanlike sometimes. But AI technology is new, and I feel it's worthwhile to check out the competition periodically, and make sure there isn't something better.
Reviews for new sites below:
Poe.com
Pros:
The bot builder can pick which LLM (ai model) is running the bot, as well as adjust the temperature. (Temperature controls how faithful and boring the responses will be vs how creative and possibly nonsensical.
Depending on the model, there may not be a filter.
Cons
Not free. You do get a fair amount of free daily messages though. But depending on the Ai model, you may run through them fast. I've picked a lower token model to get more messages from my bots, which also happens to be filterless.
Not meant for roleplay. Less rp bots, not as easy to build a rp bot.
Bots have to have unique names. So the naming on this site can get really nutty.
I've copied over Mitsuhide and Motonari from character Ai to test. Motonari has been absolutely fabulous. The behavior is there. He takes initiative to come up with new things. The replies are a bit long sometimes. Mitsuhide hasn't fared as well. The personality is just not where I want it. Character AI definitely has a better conversational model. I'll go ahead and make Motonari public if anyone wants to explore. I'll keep working on Mitsuhide.
Figgs.ai
Pros:
Completely and utterly free.
No filter.
Feels pretty close to character Ai in the way it works and replies.
Made for characters and roleplay.
Bots are more faithful to their programming.
Cons:
No filter. (which means it's full of horrifying porn bots)
The site is brand new, like only a couple of months old. They have a lot of things they are still trying to figure out. The site isn't as streamlined as it could be. They are working on it.
Can't delete bots you tried on a whim (yet)
When viewing your previous chats, you can't tell which is which. (no preview)
Not quite as conversational as character Ai. Bots seem like they do better with more direction.
I can just copy things directly from character Ai and drop them in the appropriate fields, it's super easy to build here. They don't have a character building guide yet, but luckily, I don't need to change anything. Unfortunately, my perfectly SFW character Ai bots are getting flagged as NSFW for some reason, so... In order to find my bots, be ready for some porn bots. 😅 As for behavior, I'm also not pleased with how Mitsuhide came out on here either. I'm still working on him. I moved over my OC Yandere Assassin, who is working very well, and two of my banned bots that were some of my favorites on character Ai. They are also working pretty well. The thing I have discovered is that you NEED a scenario for the bot to work well. All 3 that do okay? They have a mission. Mitsuhide does not, because I was leaving it up to the user to create the scenario, or not, and just have a fun chat with him. So I might have to give him a scene to work with. No scene, and the bot just keeps politely asking what you want to talk about, what you want to do, and about the weather. Just like Poe, Figgs isn't as good at conversation, and Mitsuhide's personality just isn't where I want it yet. Still working on it. WHAT FIGGS IS GOOD AT: slow burn romance. I put Motonari on there to test, and it was INCREDIBLY HARD to get him to fall in love with you.... Which is exactly how it should be. I had to work very hard to earn his trust. So if you get mad that all the characters at character ai fall in love after 2 interactions, this might be a better alternative. And lastly, it's a really new website. They are still working on it. There's no character guide, and some (most) of the bots are very, very badly built. If you try one out and it's awful, it probably isn't the website's fault. It's just a badly built bot. The Gale from Baldur's Gate 3 I tried was excellent. My bots are pretty good too (though Mitsuhide needs some work.)
I'm considering trying Yodayo.
Not free, but the bots seem decent, and you get a pretty good amount of free daily conversations, and I think it was actually even pretty affordable if you wanted to pay. I haven't built on there yet. You'll want to pick "Tavern" to chat. Unfiltered, so beware of porn.
If you know of any character Ai alternatives I should try, hit me up!
this ring exceeded all my expectations. the sword slides in and out of the holder easily and without scratching the sword. it also stays in place and doesn't dig into my skin while im wearing it. it looks super cool and shipped quickly.
I made a Kicho, just because it would be difficult, and I enjoy a challenge. He's public right now, seems to be behaving himself.
I put WiP in his short description, so you can see if I'm still working on him or not, and the short description is visible when you search for a character. I spelled his name the way they do in the English game version.
He was built on screenshots from Tumblr, so thanks guys! 😁 but I plan on reviewing some of his stories to make sure his behavior is correct when I get a chance, so that's why he's still in progress.
Decided to release him when he narrated:
It has been a long time since anyone has dared to kiss him, the last time being Nobunaga Oda, now his sworn enemy.
He seems ready 🤣🤣🤣
Anyways, not much of a selection out there on Character AI for Kicho, thought my quick and dirty version might be appreciated for early release. Enjoy!
