Liam Evans Main Story Sequel
Chapter 1
< Liam’s POV >
【 THE SCALA 】
Standing under the dazzling spotlight, I basked in the rounds of thunderous applause.
The audience’s eyes burned with passion and excitement as they looked up at me like they were reaching for the brightest star in the sky.
Liam: Thank you all for joining us tonight!
In her seat on the second floor, my brightest star clapped with a smile so radiant, I could say it was brighter than all the lights in the theatre combined.
(Ahh. This is bliss.)
I’ll keep working harder and harder so I’ll never stop having moments like this.
(Because if I don’t…—)
I might end up back to square one.
…
< Switch to Kate’s POV >
【 CROWN CASTLE – KATE’S ROOM 】
Blank ink filled the pristine white sheets of paper.
(And then he—)
I typed a few lines, paused for a moment, then continued in frustration.
(This doesn’t quite get the message across. There must be a better way to word it…)
I reread the first page, but it still didn’t feel right.
Just as I turned back to the typewriter…
The sweet smell of vanilla drifted into my room, followed by rose-coloured hair coming into view, making me jump in surprise.
Kate: Liam!? How long have you been standing there…?
Liam: I just got here. I knocked, but you looked so focused that I didn’t want to bother you by knocking again.
(I didn’t notice at all…)
My boyfriend who slipped silently into my room through the slightly ajar door like a cat looked down at the manuscripts spread across my desk and smiled.
Liam: How’s that coming along?
Kate: Not very good… I know what I want to write, but I can’t seem to put my thoughts into words.
Liam: I see. Writing a story must be tough work.
Leaving Liam to admire the manuscripts, I pulled my hands away from the typewriter and reached for my bag.
I was supposed to accompany him to a rehearsal at The Scala today… but then…—
Kate: Oh no! We’re way past the time we’re supposed to head out…!
All colour drained from my face the instant I looked at the clock, Liam’s expression changing just as quickly.
Liam: Come on, Kate! If we don’t hurry, we’re going to be late!
I took his hand and we rushed out of Crown’s castle together.
…
As always, we spent another ordinary day together.
Many seasons had passed since Liam and I became a couple.
His performance as Quasimodo in “The Hunchback of Notre Dame” launched him into stardom overnight.
He received praise not only from all across the country, but from overseas as well, and offers for new roles were coming in endlessly.
Now, huge crowds of people flocked to the theatre just to watch Liam on stage.
It was even said that due to the troupe’s popularity, tickets to a play at The Scala were the hardest in the country to purchase.
The star that fell into my life unexpectedly was now an actor loved by many, shining as bright as a real star.
Liam rehearsed till late every night, carried out his duties as a member of Crown without fail, and never slacked off on his personal training even during his days off.
Despite his busy days, he always made plenty of time for me, and we’d been living a perfectly happy life together as a couple.
Liam’s schedule was impossibly busy, but nowadays, he went through each day looking more alive than the last.
…
【 CARRIAGE 】
In the carriage, Liam took a bite of the sandwich we’d brought along for a light snack, his eyes immediately lighting up.
Liam: This sandwich tastes amazing! Did you make it yourself?
Kate: I did! I used Victor’s recipe for his special springy shrimp sandwich!
His sense of taste was also gradually improving, and he was able to taste food as long as the seasoning was on the heavier side.
(Making him heavily seasoned food every day is unhealthy, though…)
Still, being able to taste food again was a major change for him.
Liam: Thanks, now I have tons of energy for today’s rehearsal.
Watching Liam take big bites of his second sandwich, I smiled to myself.
I also remembered something else that’s changed.
Kate: You came home rather late last night. Did you sleep well?
Liam: Yep. I was watching you sleep… and before I knew it, it’s already morning.
Liam: I don’t think I had any dreams last night.
(Maybe he was just so tired that he passed out…)
Liam’s had significantly fewer nightmares ever since we started sleeping together, because he’d been sleeping more soundly than he did in the past.
Even on nights when I’d gone to bed alone, it’d become a norm to wake up to him sleeping next to me.
(I think he felt guilty for sneaking into my room at first…)
But to me, waking up to my boyfriend’s face every morning was a part of my daily happiness.
(His bedhead was super cute this morning.)
He was still trying his best to meet every expectation placed on him, but what mattered most to him now was doing things because he wanted to and not because he felt obligated to.
He no longer threw himself into dangerous situations, or got injured… his fits had stopped entirely too.
Seeing Liam slowly move towards a happier, brighter future inspired me to begin chasing my dreams as well.
Liam: I can’t wait to read your story.
Kate: I’ll make sure you’re the first one who reads it once it’s completed.
My wish to someday write stories that move people's hearts had always been alive inside me, and so I finally began writing one inspired by Liam.
But no matter how many drafts I put out, none of them met my expectations.
I’d write a few lines, strike them out, then start all over again.
(I want Liam to be the first to read it… but at this rate, that’s not going to be happen anytime soon.)
…
【 LONDON TOWN – PICADILLY FOUNTAIN AREA 】
The carriage came to a stop, and I disembarked with Liam’s help.
Young Lady in Gaudy Dress: LIAM’S HERE!!!
Black-Haired Young Lady: KYAAAAAA!!!
We were immediately surrounded by Liam’s fans the second we stepped out of the carriage.
Liam: So, so sorry! Mind letting us through?
He kept hold of my hand as he weaved through the crowd, trying to get us to The Scala.
(They’re even more passionate than usual today…)
The crowd of squealing ladies kept coming—
Liam: Kate!
Liam noticed I was about to be swallowed by the crowd and like a reflex, yanked me towards him and wrapped me protectively in his arms.
We managed to avoid being separated, but the ladies showed no signs of calming down anytime soon.
Just as we were running out of ideas to get away from the mess, Tom came rushing out of the theatre to rescue us.
Tom: Liam! Kate! This way!
…
【 THE SCALA – AUDIENCE SEATS 】
Following Tom’s lead, we ran to the back entrance and made it inside the building, but I was so exhausted by then that I almost immediately sank into one of the seats.
Bianca: They caused quite the ruckus again today. Are you two alright?
Kate: Oh, Bianca…
A beautiful, raven-haired woman stepped out from behind the stage wings — it was Bianca, The Scala’s leading actress.
She shook her head with an exasperated sigh.
Bianca: We’re grateful for their enthusiasm, but if they’re going to do this every single day, it’s becoming a big problem.
Tom: We’ve tried telling them not to cause trouble, but clearly they're not getting the message.
Liam: I’m sorry everyone has to deal with this because of me…
Kate: It’s not your fault, Liam! Your performance as Romeo was simply too impressive…!
Everyone in the troupe nodded wholeheartedly in agreement.
Liam’s role as Romeo in “Romeo and Juliet” was certainly the reason things escalated this far.
Women were absolutely in love for his portrayal of the handsome young hopeless romantic, and practically became completely captivated by Liam overnight.
The performance attracted new audiences to The Scala, but also problems they’ve never had to deal with before.
(His eyes that sparkle like stars, rose-coloured hair, the sweet scent of vanilla… he was already irresistible.)
(But what truly won people’s hearts was the sincerity he treated every fan with.)
Over the past few months, Liam would be surrounded by fans everywhere he went.
Tom: It’s probably just temporary craze. I think things will calm down after a while.
Tom: Just to be safe, I’ll have noticed put up asking people not to wait for the cast outside.
Liam: … Thanks, Tom.
Tom: Don’t worry about it! More importantly… I have some big news for everyone.
Tom cleared his throat dramatically, and you could practically see the sparkles in his eyes.
Tom: Théâtre Météore is coming to England.
Kate: WHAAT!?
I shot to my feet in surprise. Everyone at The Scala’s eyes widened and they stared at Tom in shock for a moment before chattering about what they’d just heard.
Bianca: The most famous theatre company in France!? I can’t believe they’re coming to England!
The Scala Actor: I–Is it too late to get tickets!?
The Scala Costume Designer: I wonder how much it’ll cost to see them…
As I stood there too stunned to speak, Liam leaned in and whispered in my ear,
Liam: I don’t know much about them… but Théâtre Météore must be a really impressive company.
Kate: They’re the oldest theatre company in France. I heard they were founded centuries ago…
Liam: I’ve heard of their name before, but I had no idea they’ve been around for that long!
Liam: I wonder what their performances are like… I’d love to see them on stage.
Liam: … Do you think Victor could get us tickets if I asked?
Liam’s suggestion along with his cheeky grin brought a smile to my face.
(That’s kind of unfair, but considering it’s Victor, he probably could.)
And then, Tom cleared his throat again.
Tom: This won’t be a performance by Théâtre Météore alone. They’re going to have a joint performance in collaboration with a British theatre company.
Apparently, Théâtre Météore hoped to connect nations through the arts, and so they wanted to work together with a company from England.
Tom: Ever since their founding, Théâtre Météore has stood firm by their one guiding principle, which is to “brighten the world through art”.
Tom: And now, the real big announcement.
The room fell silent. Everyone held their breaths as Tom’s face turned unusually serious.
But the very next moment — he broke into a beaming smile.
Tom: They’ve chosen The Scala as their collaborator!!
Liam: REALLY!?
Bianca: Us!? We’re performing with THE Théâtre Météore!?
Tom: That’s right! They even specifically requested for us!
To spead the art’s influence as widely as possible, Théâtre Météore decided they wanted to work with a theatre company that was rising in popularity.
That’s why they personally chose The Scala, the current most popular theatre company in England.
Tom: And of course, I accepted their offer on the spot!
The entire room erupted into excited cheers.
(I can’t believe we’re going to see Théâtre Météore and The Scala performing together!)
Then Tom revealed that they had reserved the largest theatre in Piccadilly for the production.
The excitement in the room rose to a whole new high.
Tom: The cast lineup will be decided through a joint audition that includes actors from Théâtre Météore as well.
Tom: It’ll be quite the challenge… but are you all up for it?
Liam answered without a moment’s hesitation, enthusiasm written all over his face.
Liam: Of course! I’ll do everything to get a role and stand on the same stage as Théâtre Météore.
Liam whispered to me,
Liam: If I get a role, I want you to watch from the best seat in the theatre.
I smiled and nodded. If Liam was going to give this his all, then I’d do the same too.
Tom: Alright! First things first, we have an opening show for “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” coming up next week, so let’s all get back to rehearsals!
The Scala: Yeah!!
…
【 UNKNOWN MEETING ROOM 】
The soft click of chess pieces moving across the board echoed in the room.
Lucien: ……
In a one-man game, Lucien lifted a white chess piece and flicked away a black one.
Lucien: There won’t be a need for a curtain call.
The black chess piece spun on the tabletop before rolling off onto the floor, where it shattered into countless fragments.
Lucien: Time to drop the curtains.
…
If life were a fairytale, then beyond the happy ending would come the words,
“And they lived happily ever after.”
But everyone knows such things only exist in fiction.
A forest that never should've been entered, a door that never should've never been opened, a secret that never should've been discovered…
— A love that never should've existed.
After we broke all those “shouldn’t haves” — an even deeper darkness laid in wait ahead of us.
A fairytale tale doesn’t end until its “main character” dies.

MAJOR CONTENT WARNING: Graphic descriptions of violence.
Using a metal tool I found lying around in the room, I smashed the sealed window and jumped down.
Then I broke the dining room’s window and climbed inside.
[ ABBOTT FAMILY MANOR – DINING ROOM ]
Dan Abbott: How did you get in here!?
The Abbott couple and Ronnie were in the dining room, and they stared at me in shock when I made an unexpected appearance.
I didn't hesitate before grabbing a fruit knife from the table and stabbing it into the couple’s guts.
Dan: Guwah…!
Aria: Darling! — Ahh…!
Ronnie: Father! Mother!
Pulling the knife out, I turned and thrust it into Ronnie’s back.
The life drained from the face of the boy who’d always acted all high and mighty towards me, as he collapsed onto the floor.
Liam: London bridge is broken down, broken down, broken down…♪
Ronnie: To hell with you… DIE… urk…!
I pushed the knife even deeper when he tried to fight back, then twisted it and pulled it out.
His blood spurted onto my face.
Liam: Does it hurt, Ronnie?
Liam: But I’m hurting even more. For so, so long, I’m in so much pain!!!
Ronnie slumped against the door and weakly glanced out into the hallway, then muttered with what strength remained in him,
Ronnie: Mick… Amelia… run…
[ ABBOTT FAMILY MANOR – HALLWAY ]
I turned towards the hallway to see Mick and Amelia standing there looking pale.
The moment I began approaching them with the knife in my hand, they turned on their heels and fled.
Liam: AHAHA! You’d better run! You might die if you don't!!
Mick: Eeek! Stay away! Stay away from me!
Amidst his panic, Mick tripped over his own feet and fell. I took the chance to drive the knife into his back.
Mick: Urgh…
Mick stopped moving, the hallway’s floors dyed red with his blood.
Amelia: No…
When I turned my eyes onto Amelia, she froze in fear for a split second before snapping back to her senses and started running again.
Liam: It’s always been you chasing me. Now that it's the other way around, this feels new and quite refreshing.
Amelia: Somebody! Help me! There’s a murderer in here!!
She screamed like her life depended on it, but no one heard her.
She could only keep running until her stamina finally ran out, then bolted into her bedroom.
[ ABBOTT FAMILY MANOR – AMELIA’S ROOM ]
Amelia: AHHH!!
But I managed to slip inside before she could lock the door.
With nowhere left to run, she fell onto the floor.
Amelia: I– I was always good to you, wasn’t I!?
Liam: Right, you were very good to me.
Amelia: Then—
Liam: So let me return the favour!!!
I held the knife in a reverse grip and swung it down, aiming to slice her abdomen open in the cruelest way possible.
But she twisted her body away at the very last second, and the knife slashed across her face instead.
Amelia: No! Nooo…!!!
The cut ran in a straight line from her forehead to her cheek. Amelia clutched her bleeding face and let out a piercing scream.
Liam: AHHA! AHAHA!!
I couldn’t contain my laughter.
(Ahh. So this is what it feels like.)
No matter how I begged for help, screamed, and pleaded for mercy… they continued to abuse me.
Watching her terrified and screaming in front of me, I finally understood — how utterly pathetic, hopeless, and miserable I must've looked to them.
(Ridiculous.)
Continuing to laugh, I raised the knife again, but tears started spilling down my face for some reason.
(Why am I crying?)
I stood frozen in place, struggling to make sense of anything, and then a man burst into the room.
Officer with Mint Eyes: Police! Put your hands where I can see them!!!
The knife immediately fell from my hand when I made eye contact with the police officer.
Liam: Ahaha…
A single tear fell along with it.
…
I was interrogated at the police station, and I told them every last detail about everything that’s happened.
Fortunately, no one in the Abbott family died.
Combined with the undeniable signs of prolonged abuse covering my body, the police concluded there was enough evidence of extenuating circumstances that led to my actions.
Instead of prison, I was admitted into a psychiatric institution.
…
[ POLICE STATION – HOLDING CELL ]
Officer with Mint Eyes: I have a son who’s about your age. If you ever leave the hospital, I’d like you to meet him someday.
The officer wore a kind smile, but I shook my head in response.
Liam: … I’m broken. I’ll never leave the hospital.
Liam: A normal life is not something a person like me can hope for.
Because I’d made another “mistake”.
I hurt others, I’ve killed people — those were indelible sins.
(… I don’t deserve to wish for anything.)
The officer’s face contained an unbearable sadness. He placed a hand on my shoulder and looked me in the eyes,
Officer with Mint Eyes: You’re still a child. Your future is full of happiness waiting for you to find them.
Officer with Mint Eyes: No matter how painful it gets, however much you suffer… as long as you don't give up hope, someday—
Officer with Mint Eyes: You’ll come to know what real love is.
Liam: Real… love…
I wanted to ask what he meant by that, but I was taken away before I could.
Even so, that small fragment of hope he gave me in a moment of despair saved me from wanting to die.
I continued to live… like I was under a curse.
…
[ PSYCHIATRIC INSTITUTION ]
Blank white walls, uncomfortable examination gowns, painful examinations I couldn’t understand the purpose of.
— I didn’t know when I’d be allowed to leave.
… Or if I wanted to.
But then, a certain man appeared before me.
Victor: You look like a bird with your arms spread wide under the blue sky. But unfortunately, humans don’t have wings.
I took the hand he offered me. Only because it was there.
But deep down in my heart… maybe part of me wanted to believe I still had a future.
Victor: Come — give into the darkness of your wicked heart. It’s a pleasure to meet you, Liam Evans.
And after I took that hand, I found myself standing in the spotlight—.

Becoming Amelia’s doll meant no longer being treated or even seen as a human.
…
[ Amelia’s Room ]
Amelia: Stand over there. Lift your shirt.
I did I was told and held my shirt up.
The moment she saw my abdomen mottled with bruises and scars, she smiled and raised the whip in her hand.
Liam: guwah…!
The whip crackled in the air, and a searing pain tore across my abdomen.
The skin where the whip struck immediately turned formed red and swollen welts, but she showed no intention to stop.
Amelia: How dare you act arrogant when you’re nothing but a leech living off my family's charity!
Admiring the welts her whip left behind on me, she took out a small knife from the box and held it over the fireplace.
Once the metal changed colour from being heated, Amelia pressed the glowing hot knife against my arm with a delightful grin.
Liam: AHHHHHH!!!
The pain was enough to make my legs buckle, and I collapsed onto the floor.
I desperately clutched the burn, gritting my teeth through the pain, then without warning… a bucket of water was dumped over my head.
Amelia: I never said you could sit.
Next thing I knew, the bucket itself was smashed into my head, the blow knocking me over.
Amelia only shrieked in annoyance.
Amelia: Why can’t you EVER do as I say!?
Liam: I-I’m sorry, I’ll do it right now—
Amelia: Who said you could drop the formalities with me? Or what? Are you asking for another beating?
Amelia: You are truly a good-for-nothing, tactless, and your back DISGUSTS me… the only thing remotely good about you is that fade of yours.
Liam: !!
Ever since I became Amelia’s doll, not a single day went by without abuse.
Amelia had always been a violent child.
Apparently, since she was little, she’d taken pleasure in relentlessly attacking anyone outside her own family, enjoying the feeling of superiority it gave her.
Every one of her previous “friends” — the pets she begged her parents to get her — died in her hands.
She even found joy in breaking people mentally, leaving her parents at a loss for what to do with her.
That was most likely why my existence was perfect for her.
If I disobeyed, she’d beat me, whip me, or subject me to whatever violence she liked.
I was never given a proper meal, and no matter how much she humiliated me, I couldn't protest.
Whatever they did to me, they never had to face anyone's anger, because I was a “doll” that existed solely to obey its owner.
Amelia: You know what to do, right?
She brought over my “meal” — a plate piled with vegetable scraps and mouldy bread.
Then she dumped it along the hallway’s floor and drove her foot into my back.
Amelia: I’ll forgive you if you eat it off the floor without using your hands.
Liam: ……
Getting on my hands and knees, I obediently lowered my head and took the filthy food scraps into my mouth right off the floor.
The fact I couldn’t even taste them made it all the more humiliating.
Ronnie: Woah! This freak’s eating leftovers off the floor! That’s disgusting!
Liam: …… ggh.
Ronnie happened to witness it while walking by, and looked at me with undisguised revulsion.
Standing behind him was Mick, who wore a bored look and turned to leave.
Amelia: Looks like Liam’s so hungry he can’t take it anymore. Doesn’t he look just like a dog?
She grabbed my hair and yanked my head up for everyone to see my face.
Amelia: Go on and pet him, Big Brother. This dog’s very well-trained.
Mick: No. He’s filthy. I can’t fathom why a person would actually eat food off the floor just because they were told to.
Amelia: He’s not a person, he’s a dog. Right, Liam?
Liam: … Yes.
(If I disobey her, things will only get worse…)
I sat back like a trained dog and placed my hand in Amelia’s palm.
Ronnie: HAHAHA! He’s seriously posing like a dog! Gross!
Liam: !
Once he was done laughing, Ronnie grabbed me by the head and slammed by face against the floor.
Ronnie: Just looking at you makes me sick. Don’t ever leave your room again.
Although Ronnie wasn’t as cruel as Amelia, he still beat me.
The only one who never physically hurt me was Mick… but instead, he treated me like I didn’t exist.
No matter how horrific the scenes of abuse happening in front of him were, he never so much as spared it a glance.
Liam: Oww… let go! Let go of me…!
Ronnie dragged me by my hair and threw me into my room.
[ RUNDOWN ROOM ]
Ronnie: I’ve had it with you.
Ronnia: Do you have any idea how many times we’ve been woken up in the middle of the night because of you wandering around the manor and throwing yourself off high places?
Liam: I…
Ever since I came to this household, it always rained in my heart.
The fits came increasingly often with each passing day, and I couldn’t control myself no matter how hard I tried, so I kept doing dangerous things.
The Abbott family had grown sick of dealing with me, and as a result, their mistreatment of me worsened to a point words were no longer enough to describe how inhumane they were.
Ronnie: We don’t need someone who doesn’t obey. Amelia, if you’re going to keep this eyesore around, you’d better train him properly.
Ronnie tossed the key to Amelia and walked off.
Amelia: Now I’ve gotten a scolding. This is your fault, Liam.
She puffed her cheeks out in annoyance and heaved a reluctant sigh before reaching for the door.
Amelia: You’re staying locked in here until my brother says otherwise.
The blood drained from my face the second I heard the word “locked”, and I desperately shook my head.
Liam: I’ll apologise! I’ll do anything! Just please don’t punish me!
But Amelia only flashed her usual sweet smile and said the same thing she always did,
Amelia: Punish you? Don’t be silly. Everything I do is because I love you, Liam.
…
Days passed, and the door to my room never opened.
Liam: I’m a bad boy, that’s why everyone punishes me.
Hunger and fear filled my nights with nightmares to the point I could barely sleep.
Liam: But — they need me. They love me.
I kept looking away, trying to escape reality.
Liam: Because that’s what Father used to say.
The man who left permanent scars on my back had spoken the very same word Amelia did — “love”.
Liam: It’s okay. I’m still okay… right, Liam?
Then, one time, I dreamt about a moment when I was truly happy.
[ THEATRE ]
I was a child again, going to the theatre to watch a play with Jacob.
That was my escape from my reality of living a life full of suffering.
It only lasted a mere few hours, but it was the only time I was allowed to dream.
Liam: I want to stand on stage too someday.
What kind of expression was Jacob wearing back then?
I could no longer remember, but I did remember how gently he held me…

【 DINING ROOM 】
Liam: … Thank you for taking care of me till today.
Distant Relative: Get out already. And don’t you dare show your fade here again.
Several years had passed since my parents and Jacob died in the fire.
Ever since I set the mansion on fire that day, it never stopped raining in my heart.
Whenever I listened to the endless sound of rain, I’d hear a somewhat familiar voice coming from somewhere and do as it told me to.
By the time I came back to my senses, I’d already made another terrible “mistake”.
Throwing myself off dangerous heights, smashing things, almost hurting people.
I couldn’t stop those fits-like impulses whenever they acted up.
As a result, my relatives constantly gave up on me and I was moving from household to household.
Today, I was thrown out… again.
…
【 CARRIAGE 】
I don’t want to lose myself again.
I don’t want to hurt people.
I don’t want to make such “mistakes” again.
(If I fail this time too, I don’t have anyone else who will take me in.)
Liam: Smile when you greet them later, Liam.
The other me reflected in the carriage’s window nodded, wearing an expression that said “I know”.
…
The carriage came to a stop outside a manor located in the outskirts of London.
Waiting to welcome me were a middle-aged man and woman… and three children.
(It’s okay. I’m okay.)
I took a deep breath and walked towards them.
Their faces lit up with warm smiles the moment they saw me.
Dan Abbott: Liam! You’re here! We’ve been waiting for you.
Dan, a distant paternal relative, opened his arms wide and pulled me into a hug.
Liam: ! I-It’s a pleasure to meet you…! My name is Liam Evans, and I’ll be in your care from today onwards.
Liam: I’ll do anything to be useful, so please take good care of me!
I bowed deeply to him, and his wife, Aria, gently stroked my back.
Aria: Dan told me everything you've been through. You must've had such a hard life.
Dan: I’d love for you to think of his place as your own home.
Liam: T-Thank you very much…
Their warm welcome nearly brought tears to my eyes, but I swallowed them back and straightened my posture.
Dan: This is our oldest so, Ronnie, and our second son, Mick. They’ve been looking forward to meeting you.
Dan: But the one who’s been the most excited is Amelia, our daughter who’s your age.
Dressed in a bright yellow dress, Amelia stepped forward and held out her hand.
Amelia: I've always wanted a friend my age!
Amelia: Nice to meet you, Liam.
Liam: ! Yeah, nice to meet you too…!
I shook her outstretched hand.
(Maybe I can make things work here.)
I finally arrived at the Abbott family home after being passed from one relative’s household to another.
Holding onto a small fragile hope that I wouldn't have to go through it again, I stepped through the gates of the manor.
… And that hope shattered only a few days later.
…
【 ABBOTT FAMILY MANOR – RANDOM ROOM 】
Dan: Why isn’t there a single penny left of the Evans’ family inheritance!?
Liam: !
He grabbed me by the arm and slammed me against a wall, and I crumpled to the floor.
Liam: I– I don’t know! I don’t know anything…!
Dan: SHUT UP!!!
*Slap!*
Liam: !!!
His punched me across the face, sending me sprawling onto the floor again.
While raking a hand through his hair in frustration, Dan turned and yelled at Aria.
Dan: We only took him in for the money, and now he’s nothing but a worthless freeloader!
Clutching my throbbing cheek, I forced myself upright.
Above me, the couple’s voices grew louder as their argument became increasingly heated.
…
【 ABBOTT FAMILY MANOR – HALLWAY 】
The Abbotts were originally merchants in the countryside, and then their business began to prosper and they bought themselves this manor.
But it wasn’t long before things took a turn for the worse.
They’d planned to rely on the inheritance I supposedly received from my birth family… only to discover that my other relatives who took me in before them had already squandered every last penny of it.
…
【 ABBOTT FAMILY MANOR – RANDOM ROOM 】
Every time I was taken in by another relative, I witnessed the ugly greed of the adults around me.
But even though they looked at me with disgust… I was in no position to be picky.
(There are only so many people who are willing to take in someone who killed his own family.)
(If they throw me out of here too… I have nowhere else to go.)
Dan looked down at me condescendingly, his face twisting with irritation.
Dan: The kid’s got a good-looking face. We could get a good price selling him to some aristocrat who’s into children.
Liam: !
Aria: Oh, how about that baron we spoke with the other day? I’m quite sure he has a hobby of keeping young boys around him for personal entertainment.
Realising their plan to sell me off, I desperately clung to the two of them.
Liam: I’ll do anything! I promise I’ll be useful! Please… please let me stay…!
The couple completely ignored my begging and turned to leave the room, but then…
Amelia: You said you’d do anything?
Liam: Huh…?
Amelia suddenly came in and stopped in front of me, then turned to her parents and pleaded innocently.
Amelia: Father, mother… I’ve been wanting a new “friend”.
Amelia: A really lively “friend”.
The colour drained from both their faces, and they exchanged uneasy glances, as though they were afraid of something.
Amelia: I’ll take care of him myself. Pleaaaasee…?
I could tell something changed about the air in the room, but I couldn’t figure what was off.
Dan let out a reluctant sigh.
Dan: … Fine. But I’m selling him immediately if he hurts you.
Amelia: Fufu, okay~
(Am I… saved…?)
Still in a daze, I watched as the couple left without so much as taking another glance at me.
Amelia turned back to me wearing a joyful smile, but hidden behind that smile… was an unmistakable madness.

【 FAMILY ESTATE: STORAGE ROOM 】
They locked me in a room used for storage.
Broken chairs, unfinished drawings, clothes that no longer fit, towers and towers of books.
I gathered every scrap of fabric I could find, desperately covering myself in them to keep out the cold.
Outside the sealed windows, a red star shined brightly in the night sky.
Starving with nothing to eat, I clutched my growling stomach and curled into a ball.
(It’s okay. I’m sure they’ll forgive me tomorrow.)
Night after night, I pinned all my hope on a door that I knew would never open, protecting my heart from despair with all my remaining strengh.
(Just think of fun things. Time always passes by quickly when I do…)
But no matter how hard I tried, nothing came to mind. Still hoping to distract myself somehow, I reached for one of the books…
Liam: Wah!
The pile toppled over, books falling onto me.
Liam: Ggh~~~!
The books struck the wounds and bruises hidden underneath my shirt, sending a sharp pain coursing through my body, and tears welled up in my eyes.
Then I noticed one of the books that had landed in front of me…
Liam: This is…
It was tattered and dirty, the title read “The Invisible Young Man”.
(I remember this was the first play I ever saw.)
Feeling nostalgic, I flipped open the book.
As I read, exhaustion got the better of me and I dozed off multiple times, and I dreamt of “those days” every time I did.
[ Dream ]
【 FAMILY ESTATE: GATES 】
My father’s scoldings, my mother’s indifference — in a household that looked like an ordinary wealthy family to outsiders, I endured endless pain and suffering every day.
If I failed to be the top scorer in a test, my father would burn my back as punishment.
There wasn’t a single day where I wasn’t anxious and scared of making a mistake.
Somewhere along the way, amidst all of that, I discovered the world of the arts.
【 THEATRE 】
Amongst paintings, novels, and other works of art I encountered, I was especially interested in theatre.
Every so often, my home tutor would tell me in great detail the plays he’d seen.
I'd never been to a theatre myself, so every story he told only made my imagination run wilder.
Evans Family Home Tutor: The actors on stage are like the stars in the sky.
Evans Family Home Tutor: Under the spotlight, anyone can become so dazzling and captivating, you can’t take your eyes off them.
Evans Family Home Tutor: Even their tears and sweat sparkle like stars.
…
【 DRAWING ROOM 】
Liam: The stars…
My eyes lit up with fascination, and so my tutor made me a promise.
Evans Family Home Tutor: If you do well on your next test, I’ll suggest to your parents to reward you by taking you to watch a play.
Liam: ! REALLY!?
Evans Family Home Tutor: Yes. Let’s give it our best!
All thanks to my tutor for making the suggestion, my parents agreed to take me to the theatre if I got a perfect score on my next test.
I was so happy I couldn’t contain myself, and devoted all my focus into studying…
But on the day of the test, I caught a cold and missed just one question—
Just like that, the promise was off.
[ Dream End ]
【 FAMILY ESTATE: STORAGE ROOM 】
Liam: Oh… I fell asleep.
Rubbing my eyes, I looked back down at the book.
A nostalgic feeling made the scars on my back suddenly throb with a dull ache.
Liam: … This really brings back memories.
It was a story of a young man who set out on a journey to find someone who could see him after he'd become invisible.
If he could find that someone, he'd be able to return to his own world and finally find happiness.
The world he travelled through was full of wonders, everything he saw dazzled with breathtaking beauty.
I remembered how I was so captivated by it as a young child.
Liam: I wish I could live in that world forever.
The young man was desperate to return to his own world, but I wanted to stay in that fictional world.
I didn’t care if I could never leave, or if no one there would see me.
If anything — I wished no one ever saw me at all.
(Huh? But if I remember correctly, the story says the man will disappear if he doesn't find someone who can see him.)
(So if I don’t want anyone to see me, does that mean I’ll just disappear too without anyone ever knowing I existed?)
(Without finding happiness?)
Liam: ? But I’m already unhappy.
Liam: And they still let me stay. They punish me because they love me, right?
Feeling sleepy again, I closed my eyes and drifted off to sleep.
The next dream I had was of the day Jacob took me to the theatre.
[ Dream ]
【 THEATRE 】
Liam: What if Mother and Father find out…?
Jacob felt sorry for me after I’d lost my chance to see a play, so he waited for my parents to leave before secretly taking me to the theatre.
Jacob: It’ll be alright, I’ll handle it somehow if they do.
Jacob: I’ll just tell them it’s necessary for your next assignment… or come up with another lie.
Liam: Lying is bad, but… thanks for bringing me here.
While I was brimming with joy, the lights dimmed and the curtains rose.
And then — I couldn’t take my eyes off the stage.
Liam: Wow…
The actors on stage were freer than anyone else — they were having fun, happy, shining so bright, and true to themselves.
Under the spotlight, just as my tutor had said, they sparkled like stars.
(I wish I could play a different life like that too.)
If I could be someone other than “Liam Evans”, what kind of life would I live?
My mind thought endlessly of the impossible as I watched the actors perform on stage.
Seeing the wonder in my eyes, Jacob leaned over and whispered,
Jacob: The story’s wonderful, isn’t it?
I nodded and answered with my eyes still glued to the stage,
Liam: I want to stand up there too someday.
Jacob smiled without saying another word and pulled me into a gentle hug.
— The corners of his eyes sparkling like twinkling stars.

For a few seconds after we jumped from the window on the second floor, the sound of branches snapping around us was all we could hear—.
Kate: —… ugh.
I reflexively curled into a ball and held my breath.
The instant we hit the ground, Ring shot to his feet.
Ring: Kate, are you hurt?
Kate: I-I think I’m fine.
Ring: Sigh… that’s good.
We fell straight into the hedges that got crushed from the weight of our fall.
Ring climbed out first and stabilised his footing before helping me up.
My body was covered in scratches and hurt all over, but nothing serious enough to hinder me from walking or running.
Kate: We’re lucky the hedges cushioned our fall.
Kate: It was so dark when I looked down from the window, I couldn't see a thing.
Kate: Did you already know there were hedges underneath?
Ring: No. When Nica gave me information on the estate, I remember thinking it had an impressive garden.
Ring: I was curious what kinds of plants were growing at different areas, so I studied them along with the map. Never thought it’d become useful like this.
Kate: That means your hobby ended up saving our lives.
Ring: I guess you could say that.
We looked at each other and broke into a smile, then Ring’s expression hardened immediately.
Ring: Now that we've checked we’re both in one piece, let's go after Riverford.
Kate: But where do we even start…?
Our escape from the mansion went completely off from our plans, and we ended up losing track of Riverford entirely.
(Riverford still has the travel permit. If we fail to catch him, he could flee the country and we’ll never find him again.)
(I know we have to hurry, but without even knowing which direction he went in, how will we start our search?)
Ring: We know he’s planning to leave the country through the docks, and there are two routes he could take to get there.
Ring: If we figure out which one he chose—
Just then, we heard the sound of a horse galloping.
Kate: Ring, was that…!?
Ring: It came from that way. Let’s go.
…
We went around the large garden and made our way to the main entrance of the estate.
Keeping ourselves hidden, we watched the area closely…
(Oh!)
A carriage came out from the rear gates and rushed in the direction the docks at full speed.
Ring: ……
Ring silently followed it with his eyes as it raced past us—
Ring: Let’s go to the back of the estate.
(Shouldn’t we be chasing that carriage…?)
I followed Ring to the back of the estate while wondering why he decided to let it go.
…
We waited in the shadows for a while, and not long after — another carriage came out the rear gate.
Kate: … Something about this carriage feels different from the last one.
The carriage that had just sped off was the sort of extravagant, fanciful coach you’d expect a nobleman or aristocrat to ride in.
The one waiting behind the estate, however, was only an ordinary chartered carriage that looked plain enough to blend in on the streets.
Its curtains were drawn, and the people on horseback surrounding it looked nothing more than ordinary civilians.
Ring: That’s the real one Riverford’s going to ride in. Those people are his guards in disguise.
Kate: Does that mean the carriage just now was decoy…?
Ring: He prepared it to throw us off.
Ring: … Riverford’s still inside the mansion.
The moment he said that—
Ring: — He’s coming.
Riverford appeared, and we could roughly make out some movement going on around the carriage.
Ring: I’ll attack after he gets in.
Ring: Once we cut off all his escape routes, I’ll take down his guards and capture him alive.
(He kept only a small number of guards with him to avoid drawing our attention, and like Ring said, that’s our opening.)
Ring: … — Now.
The second the carriage door was shut, Ring swiftly yet silently moved toward the guards.
Ring: Ha!
With a swing of his sword, one of the guards was knocked clean off his horse’s saddle and onto the ground—.
Keeping his momentum, Ring’s sword swept through the remaining guards surrounding the carriage at lightning speed.
Ring: Get out here, Riverford.
Riverford: … I thought of you to be no more than a hotheaded fool who charged into this place on impulse. It seems you do have some brain after all.
The carriage door creaked open, and Riverford stepped out, his eyes fixed on Ring.
Riverford: In recognition of you making it to this point, I’ll do you the honour of putting up a proper fight.
Ring deflected the first bullet with his sword.
He lunged forward, his sword going straight for Riverford’s torso.
However…
Ring: — ghk…
Riverford: What a shame.
(He used one of his guard’s dead bodies as a shield…)
Grinning from behind the body he’d held up in front of himself, Riverford shoved it at Ring with all his strength.
Ring: Argh…
Riverford: You just barely dodged it, huh. You’re stronger than you look.
(He fired a bullet through the body…)
Without the slightest hint of emotion, Riverford discarded the battered body of his deceased guard.
Watching him commit such cruelty filled me with rage, and so did the sight of Ring being forced further and further into the defensive side.
Riverford: What’s the matter? All you do is dodge.
Riverford: Weren't you going to kill me?
Ring rolled onto the ground, narrowly avoiding another bullet.
As the fight continued, Riverford slipped behind the carcass of a horse that had died from being caught in the chaos, and threw a handful of sand straight into Ring’s eyes.
Ring: Damn it, I can’t see…
Kate: Ring, RUN!
I was too late. Riverford closed the distance between them and pressed the barrel of his gun to Ring’s forehead.
Ring: I will never… never lose to YOU!
Ring fearlessly grabbed the gun barrel.
Riverford: …!
The gun was knocked out of Riverford’s hand and clattered to the ground.
(Ring won…)
A stray bullet hit the mansion’s wall, and their situations were instantly reversed.
Ring: There’s no way I’m losing to someone who only fights for himself!
Ring yelled as he pressed the edge of his sword against Riverford’s throat.
(He completely subdued Riverford…!)
Victory was certain… — or so I thought.
Riverford suddenly burst into an unsettling laugh.
Riverford: Pfft… AHAHAHAHA! Do you actually think you’ve won, Ring Schwartz?
I tensed as Riverford reached into his coat.
The object he pulled out looked like nothing more than an ordinary pocket watch—
Kate: Be careful, Ring! Riverford’s still got another plan!
Ring: I know. That's not the face of a man who's lost.
As though to prove him right, Riverford’s lips curled into a sinister grin.
Riverford: Soon… the bombs I planted to destroy all evidence will detonate.
Riverford: The mansion and everything around it will be swallowed by a sea of flames. … That includes the two of you.
Riverford: You’ve interfered with all of my plans. … If this is how things will end, then I’m dragging you all down to hell with me.
Kate: No…
(Ending his own life isn't enough for him, so he wants to take everyone here with him too…!?)
Riverford: Three, two, one…
Ring: …!
(This can’t be how it ends—)
Riverford: … Zero.
The second the countdown ended, a tremendous shockwave rumbled through the ground.
But there was no sound of an explosion nearby, nor the heat of a fire.
Kate: …?
Ring: The mansion, the forest… they're not burning…?
Riverford: W-WHY!?
Ring, Riverford, and I all stood frozen in shock.
And then,—
Darius: That was quite the satisfying rumble.
Ring: Dari!
Darius: Good evening, Ring.
Darius: I saw how hard you and Nica worked to put your plan together, and wanted to only watch things through till the end from the sidelines,—
Darius: But with that many explosives planted around, I doubt there’s much you could've done about them.
Darius: So I decided to step in and help a little bit.
Ring stared at Darius’ wide smile in utter shock.
Meanwhile, Riverford snapped back to his senses the instant he saw him.
Riverford: Darius…! Where did you detonate the explosives!?
Darius turned towards Riverford, his gaze turning cold and unfeeling.
Darius: It would’ve been bothersome to disarm them all, so I moved them to that large detached building you were so careful to keep securely locked, Sir.
Riverford: That’s the research and data centre where I store every piece of information on the Cursed I spent years collecting…
Darius: You don’t need them anymore, though? Because you’re dying here tonight. Right, Ring?
Ring: I’d love nothing more than to kill Riverford… but I won't.
(Ring…)
Darius couldn't understand the decision.
Darius: Why? Surely you’re not intending to forgive the man who killed Rupert and the children?
Ring: I’m not. But killing him here would only satisfy my desire for revenge.
Ring: More importantly… I want to make a choice that’s for everyone’s sake.
Ring: Like how Rupert devoted himself to protecting the Cursed, I want to protect both the Cursed and ordinary people.
Ring: I want a world where they can exist together peacefully, and that’s why—
Ring: Riverford will be trialed under the laws of England and receive the same impartial judgment as any other criminal.
Standing next to him, I knew all too well how much thought he put into making that decision.
There was no way Ring could ever so easily forgive Riverford after mourning the deaths of Rupert and the children.
Despite it all, Ring still made that decision.
Ring: … Riverford’s crimes are deeply rooted in his obsession with the Cursed.
Ring: Once he’s brought to court, no matter how hard anyone tries to cover up, the existence of the Cursed will definitely be revealed.
Ring: That’s how I’m going to slowly introduce them to the people.
Ring: And… I want to build a world where humans and the Cursed can exist together.
Darius: … Hmm.
Darius’ eyes shifted like a cat's, his expression changing as he silently weighed possible outcomes beyond my understanding.
Coming to a conclusion, he gave a small nod.
Darius: Fufu… perhaps that thinking isn’t too bad after all.
The one who bit back was Riverford.
Riverford: Even if you do that, you'll only be enabling a second and even a third me.
Ring: Then I’ll stop them however many times I need to.
Ring’s blue eyes were fixed onto Riverford, but to me, it felt like he was staring far ahead into the future.
Knowing his plan to drag us down with him in death had failed, Riverford finally gave up and fell to his knees.
Ring restrained him, and he was soon handed over to the police who arrived not long after.

My evil — was accepting her love.

William: Victor told me your reports have filled another three shelves.
William: There’s now more than enough physical evidence for me to be remembered in history as a monster guilty of every possible unspeakable sin.
(The story I wrote has reached its tragic end.)
(As he wished… it would become the “spoonful of poison” to serve as a warning towards evil.)
That was the future we both hoped for, and our only wish was to love each other wholeheartedly until that end came for us.

The new evil born from Will’s evil disrupted the peace and order of England—

Kate: Will, watch out!
William: — KATE!!!

William: Do you remember saying “welcome home” when I returned?
Kate: N-No…

William: … It appears I’m approaching the ruin I’ve always desired.
William: This is all thanks to you, Kate.

(Now, the mere thought of you being hurt and of losing you, affects me this much…)
— For every sin committed in loving each other, the heavier our punishment became.
…
William: Pass this message for me: I take back what I said about “if I’m the only one you’re after, then do as you wish”.
William: — Touch a single hair on Kate and I’ll show no mercy.

【 CLOTHING STORE 】
My days with Kate were peaceful and full of bliss — but sometimes, chaos came knocking on our door.
…
We were at Leadenhall Market when Kate, hiding under a large hat pulled low over her face and a pair of glasses, wrapped a large scarf around my head and tied it securely under my chin.
Kate: There! Perfect! Now just keep your head down as much as you can, and don’t let anyone recognise you.
Liam: Okay… sorry.
Kate: You have nothing to be sorry for.
Kate: It’s just — right now, all we need to do is figure out how we’re getting out of this.
Her expression turned serious as she glanced towards the street outside and swallowed hard.
…
【 SHOPPING STREET 】
Standing next to her, I gulped too — then I took her hand and we exited the shop together.
The street was crowded to the brim with woman.
The very second they caught sight of us — their expressions changed.
Gaudily Dressed Woman: There he is! It’s Liam!!!
Nearby Women: KYAAAAAAA!!!!
(! They recognised me!)
Before I could get over my shock, several familiar women came sprinting towards me.
Kate stood there at a loss for words until I grabbed her arm and bolted in the opposite direction.
Liam: RUN!!!
The reason we’d ended up in this mess was because of a performance I did a few days ago.
[ Flashback ]
【 THE SCALA STAGE 】
Liam: “But soft! What light through yonder window breaks?”
Liam: “It is the east… and Juliet is the sun!”
A few days ago, I played Romeo in “Romeo and Juliet” at The Scala.
Thankfully, my performance was met with overwhelming praise, and I’d even made it to the newspaper headlines.
As a result, the play’s popularity grew rapidly and ticket were completely sold out all the way through the final performance.
Our play reached a much larger audience than we could ever have hoped for, but…
[ Flashback End ]
【 ALLEY 】
(I never thought it’d lead to this…)
We ran into a dark alley and Kate stood protectively in front of me to shield me from any passersby.
Kate: Huff… I can’t believe they were waiting for you outside the shop.
Ever since I made the headlines, crowds of young women who’d never so much as set foot inside a theatre before began flocking to The Scala.
I was glad they came to watch the play, but the big problem was what happened afterwards.
Instead of heading come once the curtains fell, they’d wait outside the theatre for the actors, and even chased us down on our days off.
(This isn’t my first time being chased by fans, but…)
These women only went after the male actors.
I'd heard stories of actors having dates with their lovers being interrupted, and some incidents that were close to causing them physical harm.
(I’m grateful they like me, but at this rate, Kate could get hurt because of me.)
Kate: Here I thought this disguise was flawless… I knew I should've given you a fake beard too.
Kate: Or maybe a wig too? But maybe it’s also simply impossible to disguise someone this handsome…
While I stood there overcome with guilt, Kate was busy agonising over our failed disguise and already trying to think of ways to improve it.
Liam: I’m really sorry. It’s my fault we can’t have a proper, normal date anymore…
Kate: No, it's not. If only I’d prepared the most perfect disguise…!
(… That’s what she’s worried about?)
In a time like this, Kate still didn't pin the blame on me.
It wasn't because she could see how guilty I felt, but because it genuinely never occurred to her to blame me to begin with.
(That part of her is what saves me every time.)
A rush of affection made me want to grab and kiss her right then and there.
I gently caressed her cheek, and as though knowing exactly what I wanted, Kate closed her eyes and moved her lips closer to mine.
Kate: Mm…
She looked so adorable, I wanted to see more.
My hand slipped beneath the hem of her skirt.
The moment my hand slowly traced her inner thigh, Kate jolted and smacked my shoulder.
Kate: Haa… nngh… Liam, we're in public…
Liam: I know… but you’re so cute, I can’t hold back anymore.
Deepening the kiss, I reached between her legs and lightly rubbed her sensitive spot with my finger.
The fabric gradually turned moist and warm.
Kate: N-No, not here…!
Liam: You don’t want it?
Kate: I-I do, but…! Your method of asking is just not fair…!
She wrapped her arms tightly around my neck, desperately trying to keep it in.
She was acting so awfully adorable that I was about to take things up a notch, when…
Young Woman with Black Hair: I found him!! He’s over here!!!
Liam • Kate: !
The women came rushing into the alley where the two of us were all over each other mere seconds ago.
(I thought we lost them…!)
Kate: KYAA!
Without a second thought, I scooped Kate into my arms and took off further down the alleyway.
Then, with a completely serious expression, she muttered,
Kate: … Maybe if we let them see us doing that, they’ll finally get off our backs.
Liam: You might have a point there… but I don’t want other people seeing how cute you look!
Kate: W-Well, I don’t want anyone seeing you make that face either!
She grumbled under her breath while still holding on to me with a sulky pout.
Kate: … You’re already this handsome, and they saw you looking that sexy…
My lover’s jealousy made my entire body feel all warm and fuzzy, and I couldn't hide my smile.
Liam: Don’t worry. I belong to you and only you, Kate.
Once we finally outran our pursuers, we gazed into each other’s eyes.
Kate looked slightly embarrassed, but I was happier than words could ever express.
Liam: I want you to claim every part of me, from my body to my heart and soul, to be yours.
Liam: And let me do the same to you.
I pressed a kiss to her cheek, and her face immediately lit up with a beaming smile.
Liam: Now then, my Juliet. Shall we continue our date?
Kate giggled and responded with an enthusiastic nod.
Kate: Yes. Take me anywhere you like, my Romeo.
After that, we went on with our date like we’d always do, even if it meant being spotted by fans and having to run away again.
It was an endless cycle, but Kate never stopped smiling through it all, and it had me thinking that perhaps a date like this wasn’t so bad after all.
…
【 LONDON TOWN 】
By early evening, my fans seemed to have given up on catching us.
We were finally able to stroll casually through town like an ordinary couple.
Kate: Fufu, today was so much fun.
Holding a bouquet of modern roses in her arms, Kate looked up at me with a radiant smile.
Kate: What kind of date should we go on tomorrow?
Hearing her casually talk about her plans for tomorrow made me appreciate the joy in having an ordinary day.
(Ahh, I’m so happy.)
I wanted tomorrow to come as soon as possible, yet at the same time, I wished life with her like this would last forever.
The deeper in love I fell with her, the brighter she seemed to shine… until she was almost too dazzling to look at.
Kate: Oh right. I believe the next play at The Scala is “A Midsummer Night's Dream”.
Kate: I’m sure it’ll be another splendid production…
Liam: Be sure to watch me from the best seat in the theatre.
Kate: Of course! Whoa—
Liam: Watch out!
A person coming around the corner bumped into Kate, knocking her off balance.
Liam • Kate: Mm.
I reflexively jumped to catch her, and then our lips met unintentionally.
???: Hah?
Still in that accidental kiss, we both turned in the direction of the voice.
The one who’d bumped into her was actually Jude.
He clicked his tongue, face twisting with a look of disgust.
Jude: Tch, the hell’re ya two makin’ out in the middle o' the street?
Ellis: You bumped into her first, Jude. Though seeing them turn towards us without breaking the kiss was kind of funny.
We looked at each other again and blinked several times, trying to process the moment.
The instant our lips parted… neither of us could hold it in any longer, and we burst out laughing together.
The sound of rain was gone now.
(… But is it really?)
Tell me.
Do you really believe this happiness will last forever?
(… Huh?)
I turned around at the sound of the voice seemingly speaking to me, but there was no one else apart from the passersby.
Kate: Liam, is something wrong?
Kate gently took my hand and tilted her head worriedly.
Liam: … It’s nothing. Let’s go home.
I laced my fingers with hers and we made our way home, chatting about all sorts of silly things.

[ NICA'S ROOM ]
Beneath my collar, under my sleeves, along the hem of my clothes — I think leaving bite marks on my skin where no one can see was one of Nica’s hobbies.
Kate: Nngh.
He trailed his lips over my skin that still had fading bite marks he left the last time.
The room was pitch black with only a slight bit of the pale moonlight streaming in, too dark for either of our bodies to be seen.
But he’d already worked his fingers between my legs until I was a trembling mess and ready to take him.
(At this rate, I’ll be at his mercy again.)
(Today I’m getting back at him…!)
I pushed myself up, straddled Nica’s lap, and looped my arms around his neck.
Kate: I’m going to make you feel good tonight.
Nica: … You’re being very proactive. What’s gotten into you?
Kate: You’re always the one making me feel good… so I want to do the same for you this time.
Normally, I’d be too embarrassed to even try, but the darkness made me feel like I could definitely take the lead for once.
I stole his lips in our usual deep, slow and sweet kiss.
Nica: Mm.
Kate: Mmph… nn…
My tongue traced the roof of his mouth, then tangled with his.
A muffled moan escaped his lips, but he still looked completely composed.
(Next is…)
Breaking the kiss, I glided my tongue down his neck.
While gently sucking and nibbling at his chest, I rubbed him through his trousers. Little by little, I felt the fabric grow taut beneath my hand.
(So far so good… now to unbuckle his belt—)
Just as I was thinking of what to do next—
Kate: Uwah—!?
I felt a sharp pain in my shoulder, my face twisting in pain before I could begin to process whag happened. Nica idly traced the bite mark he just left behind.
Nica: Ahh… that was good. I like seeing you make that face.
Kate: W-Wha… I should be the one doing the work…
The stinging sensation made tears well up in my eyes. Even in the darkness, I could almost make out the satisfaction on his face.
Nica: … Cute. Haha… now I’m turned on.
Nica unbuckled his belt with one hand, pushed down his underwear, and pulled out his hardened heat.
Kate: Ah—
Before I knew it, we’d swapped places and I was now the one lying on the bed.
Nica: Here’s a piece of unfortunate news for you.
Holding my legs, he narrowed his passionate eyes.
— His lips curled into a wicked smile.
Nica: I grew up living in the dark, so I can see perfectly fine at night.
Kate: Huh?
Nica: You thought you could do whatever you want with me because you wouldn’t be embarrassed in the dark, didn’t you? You’re really so cute yet so pitiful.
Nica: The way you desperately try to take the lead, those hopeful eyes as you touched me… I saw it all. Such a shame you had to go that far.
Kate: Ngh~~~!
Embarrassed, I quickly rolled onto my stomach and tried to hide my naked body.
But of course Nica had no intention of stopping.
Nica: You’re just too cute… so cute that it's frustrating.
He grabbed my hips, and the moment I felt his hot tip brush against my entrance — he thrust into me from behind.
Kate: — AHH!?
The sudden wave of pleasure made my mind turn blank.
Leaning over me, Nica began moving his hips, every thrust rubbing against my clit.
Kate: N-No… not both… I can’t…
The pleasure from being stimulated both on the inside and outside had my body trembling.
Kate: Ahh—!!
I climaxed again, squirting and leaving a puddle soaking into the sheets.
Nica: Look at the mess you made. Guess you'll be apologising to the maid who has to change these sheets tomorrow.
Kate: Haa… aa… ahh…
Nica: … Naughty girl.
Kate: Nn— AHH!
I’d only just came, and he was already slamming deep into my sore cunt again before I could begin to catch my breath.
Kate: N-No, nn… nya… why… ahh…
Nica: Haha, feel so good you can’t even talk anymore?
Nica: Listen to yourself crying like a cat in heat. You’re so damn cute.
Kate: — AH!
My vision turned white, the wet splashing sound of me squirting again filled the room as my body shook and turned limp.
(What do I do… I’m completely at his mercy now…)
The pleasure was so intense that my body couldn’t regain its composure after climax.
It felt so unbearably good, tears spilled from my eyes.
As I trembled and cried into the sheets, Nica finally stopped his thrusts.
Sliding his hands beneath my arms, he gently pulled me upright.
Kate: ah…
His cock still buried inside me, he lifted my body and placed me on his lap, my own body weight pushing him deeper.
Nica: Can’t come down from your high? You poor thing. It hurts, doesn’t it?
He slowly rolled his hips.
Nica: But I love girls who get this dirty, even more when they’re so overstimulated because of me that they lose their minds.
Nica: I’m going to make sure your body will always remember what happens when you try to tease me.
Unlike before, the pleasure this time built up gradually… until I was shaking again, and then his teeth grazed against the nape of my neck.
Kate: Ow—
He bit down hard. The sharp pain melted into pleasure in my mind, my body shaking violently with another climax.
It felt so good, I could no longer think.
Nica looked at me completely ruined by him and laughed.
Nica: Ahaha! I bit you enough to cover your body with bite marks, and now I’ve totally destroyed you…
He rammed his cock back into me, a white foam gathering where our bodies joined.
Gently nibbling on my ear, he whispered in a low seductive voice.
Nica: … You’re really such a hopeless little pervert.
That night, no matter how many times I blacked out from cumming over and over again, Nica never let me go.
— And I ended up greatly regretting ever thinking I could be the one taking the lead.
