how can one person make another person so happy, yet sometimes so sad?
all the places
you could accidentally fall in love
ft. a japanese convenience store
over shared confusion
in the dessert aisle,
at 2 a.m.
with too many snacks in hand,
and no rush to leave.
my favorite cliché.
I say I came for the chai,
though I don’t even drink chai.
my favorite lie.
I came because evenings
feel softer next to you.
one cutting between two people,
passing trains,
paper cups,
Mumbai glowing amber—
and something almost happens.
maybe love was
breaking in front of someone
and not being made
to feel broken.
your flight was in twenty minutes.
you stayed anyway.
held my hand.
waited out the storm.
then came back
with ferrero rocher
because you remembered
I liked chocolate.
I think love hides
in things this gentle.
maybe the reason it's harder to leave japan
is because we've seen what a country can look like when it is managed well when people are considered when systems actually serve you
and coming home feels like waking up from that dream
not just missing a place but wondering -
why it can't be ours too
when systems work,
we don't have to bend the rules just to get by
we don't have to rely on diskarte to make things work
because the system already works for us
and when things are built that way, we feel safe enough to simply follow
one minute you're having a good day, and the next minute about you starts playing in the background and suddenly you have no choice but to miss the future you would've had if only you had them.
maybe falling in love
is a bus ride home after college.
a window seat,
shared earphones,
one youtube video
neither of us is really watching
because we keep talking over it.
outside, the city rushes.
inside, time misses its stop.
and maybe romance
looks less like grand gestures
and more like
“wait, listen to this part.”
if this isn’t a love story,
it’s rehearsing to be one.
maybe love was hidden
in the innocent way
you took my freezing feet in your hands
that cold night
the first time I stayed at your place.
you bought your warmest socks,
pulled them on for me
like tenderness
was second nature.
such a small gesture.
such a dangerous way to be cared for.
in the end, we're all just collecting slightly cheesy stories we'll swear were magical
Why does it always have to be in another universe and not this one ?
Your partner should be a safe space, not another battle.
sorry for being a hater i want to be a lover but everything pisses me off
obsessed with stories that start out silly and stupid and then turn out to be deep and heartbreaking in their beauty. like okay, make me cry at midnight while i reflect on the true meaning of friendship i guess
what doesn't kill you makes you stay on tumblr for 13 years and counting
It’s crazy how real this is
If it ain’t a clear yes, it’s a clear no.
When you have a female body and don’t exercise (yet are capable), so much of your energy goes to your mind due to the separation between you and your body. Lack of movement is responsible for the overthinking, overprocessing, addictions to social media, overfunctioning, sex without a heart connection, and obsessive shopping and consumption of booze and the like. The female body is a nuclear powerhouse, the portal that nourishes souls from heaven to earth. If that powerful energy you innately possess in your body is not channeled, it will almost always lead to something destructive. -India Ame’ye, Author
