To the anon that asked about historical Laurens: I’m working on making a full timeline for you, but it’s taking longer than I expected (and there are other things I’d rather work on atm), so in the meantime, I’m gonna refer you to @john-laurens‘s blog since it posts specifically about him. If you just enjoy my writing/storytelling, Song of Alexander is a long-ass fanfic on my Ao3 account where I write from a historical John Laurens perspective.  It compiles a lot of my speculations about him, his actions in the war, and his mindset- in a much more entertaining light than I could do in a post on here.  I post a lot of bonus content in the ‘Song of Alexander’ or ‘SOA’ tag, and I also made a call-out post against myself so I could correct the inaccuracies in the story.  That’ll get updated each chapter.

A few months ago, I did a project to compile a timeline of John’s efforts in the American Revolution and I posted that here.  I tried to summarize a lot of really complicated events that don’t always make sense without wider context, and some of the dates are speculative, but it’s a good jumping-off point.  I keep meaning to add to it now that I’ve got the Massey bio (I get distracted/don’t wanna work on it).
