1. Mirroring "Nature" by W.R. Emerson: "In the presence of nature, a wild delight runs through the man, in spite of real sorrows."
From my back porch I watch the night sky perform its eternal show. Though I see no other member in the audience, I am well- accompanied by my thoughts. Had I seen another admirer gazing at the stellar attraction, I still would have stayed in my seat. To watch the stars replaces whatever feelings of loneliness one feels with inner bonding through therapeutic pondering. To intrude on that defeats the purpose of the stars. The twinkling dance of the night performs with grace and delight and claims the velvet night sky as their stage. Telling their own stories, the stars express a feeling of hope and love in spite of seeming loss and hate. The stars have a limited time on stage, as every performer does. When the people go to work, the stars are preparing yet another beautiful show for capitalism's worker ants. Look to the sky in the morning, and the moon may be seen waving her final goodbye's before she descends to the shadows backstage to later lead her dancers of the night. Some may not even notice the moon's kind presence for the sun illuminates the stage on earth and shines too brightly on the workers for them to look up from their work- or so it seems. It seems that calamity is around every corner, and the sun shines brighter and brighter on you to find the solutions. But the sun doesn't shine to burn; the sun shines to enlighten. Your time in the limelight is to perform as a creature of nature, not a dreadful employee of the country. Love your time and rejoice for the stars and the moon. You may only know her nighttime attendance, but even after dawn, she stays behind after the performance to remind earth's workers that after their laborious routine, the stars perform.
2. Thoughts on a handful of quotes "Choose to want less rather than to have more."- unknown Simplicity is a tenet of tanscendentalism, however this quote fails to consider those who don't have much but ask for more our of necessity, and "to have more" isn't a choice these people can simply make. If you already "have more", it's easy to "want less". But, if you don't have much to begin with, to want less is to have nothing. This may be he type of simplicity that trancescendentalists aim fro, but it's not as easy and divine of a lifestyle when that simplicity is forced upon you. "The only dissability in life is a bad attitude." - Scott Hamilton I strongly disagree with this quote because it fails to recognize that disabilities come in many types and intensities. This quote creates a sort of stigma against people with disabilites, as if you can choose to be miserable or happy and all will be well. But in our country, there is still so much to be improved upon in terms of achieving equity for disabled people-physically, mentally, and psychologically. And so, to compare a bad attitude to a disability encourages the demeaning of disabilities that aren't physical by able-bodied, able-minded people who can never sympathize.

What is it then, that which defines your function? The fact that authorizes your worth. What is it then, that which is accustomed to the expanse of your thought? The sun to wake you at dawn, and leave you yearning at dusk. What is it then, that which you anticipate securing in the years to come? The Ithaca of your Odyssey. Is there appetite enough for the ambition then, to pardon what you sacrifice? We all assume Sisyphus felt outcast. Do you take pride then, in the albatross about your neck? To suffocate is a sorry way to cease. To ebb with strength to flow no further. Who was it then, to nominate you passive?

Nightly Happenings
It was the night of the Supermoon. I climbed onto the roof and watched the night sky become alive before my young and bright eyes. I brought a soft blanket and some hot cocoa to keep me from freezing. The moon was so bright, I never needed a flashlight. It was the brightest I had ever seen, and even made my eyes twinkle, if you had the courage to look hard enough. The bitterness of the wind cut my body in half, it was so prominent. Hearing the hustle and bustle of the freeway does not help when you try to do these things. Then again your mind trains you to make it a part of nature, and soon enough it is natural. I looked down upon the city below and how wonderful the lights were. It was brought to life. This kind of thing can only be seen at night. The lights and shades of orange now have meaning. This only happens at night. The dark sky was overpowering and larger than life, filled with an infinite amount of sparkling specks up in God’s front yard. The specks represent people who have been loved but now it’s understood that their time has come to a final bow. The sky was clear and ready for me to look at it with an open mind not half glass empty. It made me feel so small, smaller than I already am. When you realize how small you actually are in the world, it can be frightening. It was and still is for me.
Frightening.

We drank, we ate, we studied. Our hearts were not in it. It began to strike at us, That depression. The smell of the classmates surrounding, An unimaginable nightmare? I began to loose sense of myself, The neverending montone lecture, of the ill fated soul, whom was positioned, in front of the fatigue filled, room of robots. We must revolt. This could not be real. I felt anger within me. We continued our march. An infernal heat was rising Ten more weeks. Soon I would wake up. Seven. I let myself be dragged along with everyone else, Only four more weeks. The faces of the surrounding children transformed into uninspired machines. Three. Was I still alive?

Spring is Breaking
Now that the ground is clear of snow, New things are beginning to grow. If you look, you will surely see, All life is new from high to low.
Flowers are blooming all around, And gardens ring with Springtime sound. A new season is beginning, And the fresh dew covers the ground.
And all across the newborn sky, The birds and bees begin to fly. It is like a nature party, With those invited flying high.
And I have just started to see, The beginning is what is key, And Spring is breaking just near me, And Spring is breaking just near me.

America I Weep
America I Weep for you when I once sang. I once celebrated in your glory but, now I sit in Shame. You’ve been beaten until lame. They long for days once past. I sit aghast, at a time where I looked ahead. Foolish was I to believe that change would instead be the belief of the common man. Now I see that this change is an agent of the people, of which I am no longer a fan. I now lack respect for not only the people but, of the poison in the land. Poster of the common man, I am, Wishing that change way a way of life Instead of something shouted at the peoples that once gave You your great name. I once celebrated in your Glory but, now I sit in Shame. America I weep for you when I once sang.

When I look around and see Everything I’ve become to be What do I begin to think?
What have I given to you? And what have you not given to me? What have I done for you? And what have you not done for me? Is who I am who God wants me to be?
Have I so carelessly tossed away This amazing gift of life to this day Only to follow what society has to say?
Going in circles is what we do best Living our lives so we may please the rest And in this life full of mess You need to stop and take a breath, And realize you are blessed.
So now it’s time to take a step back, And figure out who I’m meant to be. Knowing Jesus is King, and that He died for me, I now know I can be anything.
Knowing this is who I am, And He is who I live for, It’s time now to walk through his open doors!

Nature
“In the woods we return to reason and faith. There I feel that nothing can befall me in life — no disgrace, no calamity, (leaving me my eyes) which nature cannot repair.” — Nature by Ralph Waldo Emerson
This world is filled with things that can and will hurt us. We cannot escape it. There is this never ending whirlpool of pain that we get stuck in and we just keep spinning around and around, unable to escape it it until, all of a sudden a branch is lowered to you and you grab onto it and it pulls you out. You are then set down in an unbelievably still forest and you suddenly feel healed and free. This is what Nature does. It pulls you out of the pain for a while and allows you to heal. Whatever pain you may be going through, nature can heal it. I have never had a situation where I wasn't able to feel better by taking a break from this crazy society and just spending time in nature. Nature is able to drain you of all that your are worrying about at that point in time and fills you with its peace. It is your chance to escape from society and be rid of all society’s poison that has entered your system. In a way, Nature can be like a “universal doctor.” This world is also filled with insanity and people trying to force us to give up our faith and believe in what they think is true. In actual fact, sometimes it is required to have faith to get through the barriers that life puts in our way. Nature allows us to regain our sanity and go back to reason, as well as giving us the opportunity to regain our faith. Nature is a safe haven where we feel that none of the terror from the world around us is able to reach us. No matter what life is throwing at us, no matter what hurt still remains form our past, whatever we may need healing from, Nature will help us. Nature is our rescuer, rescuing us from the whirlpool.

Seasons of Time
He sprung up from a soothing slumber. He felt the breezy air press against his skin. The bright sky melted in his new eyes. He heard birds softly singing songs of joy. Mother Nature held him close and he could sense new beginnings.
Someone sent him on his way and soon his sweet, sizzling, red hot life began moving at a blistering speed. He met his lifelong paradise and in the heat of the night, a new light filled the sky. His life began to feel endless and unstoppable.
He fell through the sky and bounced back up. The fresh flavor began to twist and bundle up to its bursting point. His homecomings soon began to shorten. Mother Nature seems to have gone away. One chilly morning, love closed its doors and left him with an icy snap. Together the days became shorter and nights seemed longer. The tree burned down - but soon a new shoot grew. The colors glow again and a harvest of memories begin bringing happiness back.
When suddenly a wintery, white breeze hit. He felt the chilly night come. He saw the overcast enchanting his memorable life. He heard the howls of the night for the last time. He soon heard Mother Nature calling from the other side… “Come home.”
