Okay, I'll be petty for this thing because I can. I had a similar discussion with a guy online, who said how sad he is that no one really gets how glorius communism was for people, equality with it, and all that stuff. Sure, great. If you wanted your kid to get a better education or you wanted to get higher in your job, you had to be part of the political group; otherwise, there wasn't a chance for it. How people in Mongolia (not sure about all parts, but the factorie where my father was) were forbidden from eating in the work place, with the rest of the work because they weren't "equle" enought, how if you wanted to make deacent money, you had to leave family for an entire year if you were lucky enough, or for 5 years altogether, how you couldn't lisen to a certain type of miusic, "that was too liberal," or how you have to get an official permit to even get your passport, because this wasn't a thing you keep at home or neither you were free to travel freally abrode. How you could have to change the place where you live because your neighbor kindly inform that you were expresing you western thoughts or you just live in a place where you shouldn't in government opinion. How the safety of your family was used as a tool to control your action because you knew something could happen to them if you didn't...

I get that capitalism can be upset, and socialistic ideas appear to be the best solution, but if you or your family didn't live through it in one of the countries that were deeply influenced by the USSR, please don't glorify it

Honestly I’m so happy I’m not in Warsaw (or in Poland in general) on 11/11.

My university last year organized the 11/11  international conference, but they didn't inform the guests that this day is national celebration day, so the public transport works differently or doesn't work at all, and that going into certain places in Warsow wasn't the most safe thing to do.

I really hope that somebody who reads it and wants to visit Warsow will now keep this date in mind when you organize a trip, and for anyone who is staying or living there, stay safe and get yourself a Rogal for Saint Martin's Day.

Imagine for a moment a version of Lore Olympus that was not misogynistic, demeaning and full of blatant fetishes, in which women's power and worth was not defined by their fuckability, in which not everyone was a lecherous creep and platonic relationships between men and women were allowed to exist without it being revealed they hooked up in the past (Persephone and Hermes, Hades and Hera), or that one of them is asexual (Hades and Hecate), or one of them being portrayed as the stereotypical gay best friend (Persephone and Eros). No imagine how easy it would have been to write the utterly revolting Kronos-Hera situation in a way that wouldn't be utterly revolting: what if, instead of turning Kronos into a libidinuous dirty old man and Hera into a sex object whose biggest contribution to the Titanomachy was "seducing" and letting herself be abused by the father of her two boyfriends, Kronos actually grew attached to her as to a DAUGHTER and he loved her the way he could not bring himself to love his sons since he considered them a threat to himself but had no reason to consider her one? Not only would this have avoided the grossness of the whole thing and would have made Hera's betrayal of Kronos more poignant, but I daresay it would have been far cleverer, too; It'd have been a nod to Hera's actual mythological parentage, and also to those versions in which Kronos doesn't swallow/imprison his daughters or only decides to keep Hera and raise her out of all her siblings.

i'm gonna said it...She would be daddy's girl, I know how mythology went and that Kronos was an asshole, but from all 6 Olympus siblings she fit role of favorite child best. And Lore Olympus has different approach, but any way we can see that even this relationship is toxic and he is cruel sadist who eat his kids, he cared for her and it was HER'S betrayal that hit him the hardest

like they just…..grew, they got breasts and hips and kept it moving. i got facial hair before any of the boys we knew. my body hair was (and is still) dark, thick, prominent and all over. 

my closest friend saw my pubic hair in the girls changing room and told the entire school about it. someone asked me if i was secretly a man. i went home that day, my 12th birthday, and held back tears as my family cut my cake. i leaned too far over my work in art class causing my shirt to hitch up and my back to be exposed, i didn’t notice until the laughter of the group of boys behind me was loud enough. 

there’s so much shame in being brown and having body hair. there’s so much self-hatred towards the natural state of our bodies. so when i see white women (whose bodies mine has always been dichotomised against) partaking in body hair activism that doesn’t acknowledge this, when i see those tiny tufts of wispy thin blonde armpit hair dyed bright pastel colours, i feel no empowerment and no liberation - just the pain i’ve always felt within my own natural body.

So i hope it won't be too disrespectful, during my middle school and high school I had one darker skin boy in my class, he wasn't hispanic from what i know. I remember how horibell kids were for him, for having slightly darker skin. if it comes to women, we all are expected to be hairless and smoth( which is bullshit for me), so I can even imagine how stressful and horrible it was to you to grow up not only being WOC but also don't ,,fiting into beauty standards". I really hope ypu are better now and you know that you are beautiful, no matter what.

And i really hope, that we will be able to teach kids not to laugh at something so normal as puberty, even if every one of us is going through it differently, because it is our job as grown ups
