Lucian had not long finished up their shift and after hanging around for half an hour or so to grab a drink with a friend who had turned up to the bar, they made their way outside. Pausing just beside the door to take a glance at their phone, they soon became aware of another person standing nearby, seemingly alone. They couldn't be sure how long they'd been there, but they definitely hadn't seen them inside yet and it was getting pretty late. Pocketing their phone a moment later, they looked over in the person's direction, flashing a smile as soon as they returned the gaze. "Hey!" the greeting was cheerful, open, as most of Lucian's were when working. "How you doing tonight?"

Carson was taking a smoke break, but honestly, he was debating just going home at this point. Going out just wasn't the same anymore, not when all he could mainly think about was his daughter, and Mila, and his sister. Anything but being in the present, honestly. He was just looking around, stuck in his train of thoughts when the voice finally interrupted them. Thank fucking god. "Could be better, I guess," He said with a shrug, "You?" He mainly asked out of habit. "Need a cig?"

"I guess I'll take that over you calling us Batman and Robin, but I'm not sure I could handle that much spandex in one spot." Though he wasn't sure if it was better or worse with being Thelma and Louise, but he wasn't in the right headspace to argue with it. Or Matt. "You have a lot more faith in us than I do. I think we'd be stuck in there for the entire hour and then we'd be left in there too, forgotten by even the people running the place." It wasn't possible, but it was how he felt even in this place rather than a smaller room. "Shit man, it might be better than this. At least we'd be high."

"Wait, Batman and Robin would also be perfect. Or Barnacle Boy and Mermaid Man!" He added as if he just had the most amazing incredible idea in the world. "We're smart, we have brains. We'd figure it out. And we could phone a friend." He wasn't sure who he'd call, though. "I dunno about you, but I'm pretty high right now. Don't tell that lady over there, she's been lookin' at me like I'm crazy for some reason. Meanwhile she's the one that looks almost 3D right now." When he was high, his depth perception was completely gone.

"Oh, you're just so funny, aren't you ? " It was slightly amusing at times, to be so annoyed by him. It was harmless, no real hate there. At least not from her side. When he mentioned an artist she was greatly familiar with, a brow slowly raised. "Well, look at you knowing something. Is 'before he cheats' the only carrie song you know ? Because that's not that impressive. It's a popular song." Though she did now want to hear him sing it, so maybe the drinking would get her one step closer to that. "Just order the damn shots, Matthew," she insisted, turning fully to face him now, the look she gave him more challenging than ever before. Was it the best idea to drink shots all night when she was already a little tipsy ? Probably not. But Addison never shied away from a trouble.

"I've been told I am." He replied with a nod, hoping that just the thought of people thinking he was funny would get under her skin. "Of course not," He was almost offended, though he really did know much country, "I know Jesus Take The Wheel Too. And didn't she do Mama's Broken Heart?" It was either her or someone who looked a shit ton like her, he couldn't remember. In his defense, he wasn't completely sober either. He called the bartender over, waiting for his turn. "We'll have some green tea shots. I'm tryin' to be accommodating for her," He knew the bartender didn't care one bit, but he hoped it would annoy the fuck outta her, "Not sure how well she can take shots, so you know, don't be surprised if we need some napkins over here."

"Can't say that I do." August confirms, nodding. "See, this is why I cam here, 'cause obviously you know way more than I do. I appreciate it." He says, truly grateful for the help and advice. "Ice cream cake is severely underrated. I always forget how good it is. Why did society as a whole stop buying ice cream cakes?" Gus couldn't remember the last time he had one, maybe at a birthday party as a child. "Of course I like Star Wars, who doesn't like Star Wars? Clearly Han shot first."

"I don't know if I know more, really. Maybe a tad bit about the weed but definitely not in general. You seem like you have the smarts." He appreciated the compliment but he always had trouble taking them. "I guess it's considere childish? I don't know, really, because they're so good. Especially when it has the bites in it, I don't know what they're called, it's slipping my tongue, but it's chocolate usually," He hoped August what was getting what he was putting down. "Oh, I agree. But it doesn't matter because later edits had Greedo doing it first. Did we ever find out why they changed that?"

"Okay, how does this look? Please be brutally honest with me. I swear I can take it," Kate asked, coming out of the dressing room and looking in the mirror, turning this way and that to see all sides of it. "I have this whole fancy awards dinner thing I have to go to and I'm absolutely terrified."

Jake knew that the new house needed furniture and while he was really going to ask Mason to officially pick out everything, he figured he could at least pop in and see what was in Finders Keepers. "Nah, I think that looks great, but I'm probably not the best person to ask when it comes to fashion." He was happy to reveal that piece of information, "So maybe you should take what I say with a grain of thought. But I think it looks great. I'd give the outfit a 10 outta 10."

rhys chuckles as his brother rambles about growing old. "definitely can't think about turning forty." rhys could barely think about turning thirty, and that was still three years away. "and, hey, it's a valid fear-- that's definitely how mum and dad tried to keep my accent around when i was younger." the multiple box sets of BOB THE BUILDER and THOMAS & FRIENDS stored in their parents garage were proof of that. "i think i saw somewhere that kids actually were picking up accents because of this show. i think it'd be a bit funny, though, wouldn't it? your australian accented daughter with her back-and-forth british accented parents?" he's teasing, although he does find it funny his brother somehow managed to settle down with someone also from england. "well, if i told you that, i'd have to kill you," he jokes. "no, it's going fine. definitely feeling some IMPOSTOR SYNDROME here and there, but i guess that could occur to people in any field." despite having his degree, rhys often felt like people in their twenties, even ( practically ) in their late twenties, should not have such a professional sounding job. "probably not as fun as your job, if i'm being honest."

"See that's what I said ten years ago. Now look at me, time goes by fast." It was always weird to see his little brother fully grown and a functioning human too. Just showed how fast time went by. "And I helped you by watching Hell's Kitchen. You're welcome." He did love some Gordon Ramsey reality tv. "Hey, I got no problem with that. If she wants to have an Australian accent, or picks one up, more power to her. It gives her something to say when a teacher asks about a fun fact. Cause I used to always blank for those and just ended up putting that I was from England." The most uninteresting fact about him, probably. He understood the whole imposter syndrome, well not really, but he understood it from Rhys' perspective, just he never went through it himself. "It's hard, you know? Because you're kind of getting your frontal lobe developed but also having to work and it's a weird combination." He hoped he was at least making sense. "Nothing's as fun as my job. That's what I get for having weed be my special interest. And people laughed at me for it, but now I get to paid to talk about weed. I could put in a good word for you if you wanted."

"I'm talking more about the one where he's writing the essay and just writes 'The'. Those writers must have had their fair share of writers block because they just get it." Kesandu laughed at herself. The writers block was happening more and more within the recent years and she felt like nothing she could do could fix it. "I mean I don't think it is to talk about it, now if I wrote those ideas down and tried to sell it as my own that's when we start getting into tricky territory. But using it just to get the brain going isn't."

"Oh yeah, one of my favorites. It's up there with DoodleBob." He was happy to talk about SpongeBob and how deep the show was for being a kids show. Or kids aimed. "Okay fair. Maybe you gotta jolt up the ole noggin. Not that you're old, not saying that. Ole noggin, like the saying, you know? Okay shit, well. Maybe you have to get the brain going." That was better, he hoped. Though now he was wondering because he had corrected himself, if that made it worse. Stupid brain. "Oh so if I say it, it's cool? That's good to know." He didn't know much about the laws to begin with. "Does that mean you're a writer/lawyer?"

"they did. unforgiveable if you ask me." she tsked playfully and shook her head. she was sure when she got home, she'd end up watching halloween town until she fell asleep. it was definitely at the top of her 'comfort movie' list. "well, then you'd have to make sure you know what the vibes are." when was the last time she'd gone to a halloween party, anyway? high school, maybe? "it's .... somewhat different." which is exactly what she'd been going for. "ah, well, all right then. have you ever been to california? i'm actually from a small town over there, ferndale? yeah --- probably unknown if i'm being honest. although i've been to la and san fran --- it could never really beat how nice the small towns are."

"I'm sure Disney's had their fair share of complaints." He chuckled, "People are probably still complaining about it." He understood why. It was completely uncalled for. "I heard the actress didn't even know until they started filming the new movie or something." He was probably butchering it but it was something like that. "I can't imagine moving from being near water to not, I don't know if I could handle it." He loved the beach, and there really wasn't a natural type of beach around here. "I know LA and San Diego, I mean I know of those places, don't know them well. And Long Beach, but that's about it. You're lucky I know the names of towns here. But sounds nice, sounds very Dale like. Like Riverdale."

Rhett rubbed at his face with a hand before he replied, this time trying to take a method from group where he'd breathe at least three time before responding with the way that his patience was already gone. All he wanted was a drink, which was exactly where he'd end up if he didn't take a different approach to it. "It felt more like you were sticking me with something to see if I'd react," he replied honestly with a shrug. "Fuck, I don't know actually. I got dragged here 'cause I said it would be fine, but I lied. I lie about a lot of shit." Like him being okay with being left alone in the middle of an Octoberfest celebration.

"Why would I do that?" He wasn't worth the trouble or effort, honestly. It wasn't like he didn't care, Rhett was his niece's father, but he wasn't going to pretend to play nice either. "I know." He didn't mean to say that out loud but, he was kind of glad he did. "Who dragged you here? I'm sure you could just ditch them and then not feel about about it. So that's always an option for you."

"Plus your kid is kind of allowed to take your food, that's like the number one rule of little kids." Or at least she assumed so, knowing she didn't have that type of experience growing up. "Well in the off seasons you'd rest probably." Maia was now second guessing her whole past, was she even resting? "No never. Getting caught has to be the last thing on everyone's list.

"Yeah, she's the only one, though. Everyone else I'm not lettin' touch it." He admitted, happy to share with her. "There's off seasons? Didn't know criminals did that." Maybe he wouldn't make a good one, not knowing all these technicalities. Though he probably wouldn't make a good one to begin with either, not that he'd ever want to. He'd be too afraid of leaving Teddy fatherless. Again. "Why does it have to be the last thing? Shouldn't it be the first thing so that you're aware of what the risks are?"

"That's kind of how growing up works." Dov points out, chuckling quietly. "Oh, no...I drink and I go to those places. Just saying in case you didn't, or you wanted some other options." He says with a shrug. "If you're looking for something to do with Teddy, the museum's always a hit."

"Yeah, which is why I'm not a huge fan of it honestly." Though his childhood wasn't much better with not having adult responsibility, either. "Yeah, I gotta be in the mood for it, honestly or else I'm not a good time." Even if he wondered if he was ever actually a good time to begin with. "The museum? Does it have kids things or is she gonna be lookin' at paintings for a good few hours?" He chuckled, wondering if her attention span could handle it.

Sani's life had been relatively smooth sailing, even as they navigated the process of surrogating Edgar and Marco's third child. The most challenging aspect—one they were acutely aware of—would be explaining to Maya why they were carrying a baby they were not keeping—but a lot of honesty was coming into play, even if the little girl was just three years old. This thought occupied their mind as Ewan put their daughter to sleep. Just contemplating their family dynamics made Sani yearn for another child of their own. One of the most beautiful things they had ever witnessed was the bond between their partner and their daughter, the way they lit up around each other never failed to make Sani's heart swell with happiness.

Interrupted from their thoughts by Ewan's voice, Sani looked up from their sketchbook and broke into an instant smile. The two of them were quite the contrast, but Sani wouldn't trade the ease that Ewan brought to their life for anything. "You're a constant in my ever-changing world," they said with affection, reaching out to scratch his beard playfully. "You know, for someone who isn't the designer in this relationship, you certainly seem to love reality tv with people who sew. Is it the talent, or the drama?" Sani teased, pushing their sketchbook aside so they could cuddle closer to Ewan. "I can't say I've ever had the bad case of the stripes, though. I'm sure if we get some paint and stripe Maya head-to-toe she would absolutely love it."

He loved their little family. He loved Maya. He loved his partner. He also loved when they touched his beard. His beard was probably one of the things he was most proud of. "Oh yeah, I'm a constant. I'm like an itch you can't ever get rid of. A blackhead that won't leave." He chuckled, amused by his own joke. "Speaking of, don't go on if you can't sew. When will the queens learn?" He knew that was a constant issue in all of the seasons. "Both. Alright maybe the runway parts aren't my favorite but everything else, I really like. My toxic trait is thinking I'd absolutely kill those lip syncs." And maybe he would, he'd definitely give it his all. "She'd love it. Might be confused at first until we explained it, but then she'd love it." He explained, "You think she's gonna get this whole surrogate thing when we explain it to her?"

personally, the jitteriness hadn't ever affected fallyn unless she'd had copious amounts of it, but she understood the reasoning in that sense. not in that it was the same price as regular coffee, but to each their own. " there are a lot of different nut butters, probably because there are people allergic to peanuts like you. " she'd never thought about the reasoning behind almond, cashew, and other substitutes suddenly appearing on the shelves but it would make sense. " what has almond milk done to you personally ? " fal asks with a chuckle. " pretty much everywhere, yeah. i've seen it all over the place, just have to choose a brand you like. i like the happy belly creamy one. "

"Tree nuts. Not peanuts. I could have peanut butter if I wanted to, technically." It was a common misconception. Though he wasn't the biggest peanut butter fan either. "Happy belly creamy. Nah, that's no way that's an actual brand. How do these people come up with these names?" He was almost offended at the name. "I guess it's better than I Can't Believe It's Not Butter."

"Not sure I'd be able to do this on my own either," he admitted, though it had more to do with him getting himself to do it at all. Instead he'd cop out and do something else entirely, probably something on his own or unoriginal at this point as he shook his head once. He knew. He was in his head far too much, too often, to the point where he didn't do anything anymore without overthinking it all. "An escape room while high? Not sure we'd find a way to get out or get stuck in even further than before." He snorted at the thought, but honestly it might chill him out if he was on something rather than having to face it all sober.

"We're like Thelma and Louise. We need each other for this." He wasn't sure who they were, he just knew they were a duo. And right now, the two of them were a duo. "You have no faith in me, man. I kill those things when I'm not high, you know? I'd be totally fine high. We'd just need some productive drugs, not some indica that'll put us to sleep. Don't you think we could do it?"

Logan couldn’t remember the last time that she’d been at the farmer’s market, let alone out there alone with only Hank by her side. He was glued to her side, sensing her slight discomfort with the amount of people but she couldn’t keep herself holed up for much longer. Aside from Kesandu, she hadn’t been the greatest at socializing and it wasn’t doing her much good. Every time that she caught someone’s eye, Logan frowned. It was the opposite of what today was supposed to look like as she bumped into someone to get away from someone else who had hovered too close. “Shit, excuse me.” Though she wasn’t sure it came out as anything more than an accusation since she didn’t seem to even manage an apologetic look. “Some people can be so rude.”

"What, huh? I hope it's not me who's being rude." He insisted, not wanting to come across as rude. Was he now though? He didn't want to do that either. "I'm just chilling over here." He liked to stay in his own lane, not wanting to rock any boats or any lanes for that matter. "Sorry if I'm standing here like a statue or something. I'm debating if I should get these pears or not. This is like just the beginning of the season for pears, so I'm wondering if I should wait or get them now."

Chance nodded as the other listed off some flowers, leaving him both confused and narrowed down to getting whatever he could name at this point so that he had something to take with him. "You're not wrong, I know that much which is why I got here in the first place. I just got to go with my gut and pick something." Then he'd be able to make it to dinner on time without an empty hand and apology. "I like tulips. I think I'll go with those, thanks. Honestly, if I went with something I couldn't even name, they'd be fine too," he added with a small laugh as he selected a bouquet.
