It is with great hope and palpable sadness that I let you all know that my time in Georgia is sunsetting. Rather rapid life changes have necessitated that my family and I move up north. While I'm heartbroken to be leaving the south, I can confidently say we're going to the best possible home for us.
This does, however, mean my activity will be taking a heavy hit and you will see my posting habits fluctuate unpredictably. I have a rough game plan for this time, so let's talk about it!
My last day in Georgia will probably be in late-June. Before then, it will largely be "business as usual." I am focusing aggressively on clearing commissions and I will not be opening for new work until I am settled in my new place. Extraneous projects ( archiving, podcast planning, memoir spitballing, etc. ) are in a freeze as I adjust to this life-change.
I am planning to reopen my store May 22nd. I will also be vending at Kitty House's Carnie Market on Saturday, May 23rd, in Athens, Georgia! This is the last chance you have to purchase my artwork locally before I move. Following this, I likely will not sell again in Atlanta just due to the logistics of Furry Weekend Atlanta as a business convention.
I will be closing my store for an extended period of time before I move. I cannot give a concrete date as we do not know when we will actually begin the process of moving things into our new place, but if you want to get something from me, I recommend you take advantage of shop drops and abstain from dallying as getting everything unpacked will take some time.
This move is an opportunity for me to grow as an artist and OS advocate. Full-stop. I am moving closer to many furry conventions and to, arguably, a more objectum-friendly contemporary art scene. This is a huge, huge deal for me. The laws are also better in regards to transgender individuals. This is a fresh slate for me and I will be a little close-lipped about life details moving forwards as I strongly believe that this is a chance for me to be a little more anonymous geographically, which is desirable when I have such a recognizable object partner.
That being said, I am not abandoning my friends in the south! Many of the conventions I used to frequent are reachable by car, including Furry Takeover! I am so ecstatic about this — I still plan to make FTO, FWA, and MP annual trips, but will also be doing my very best to get the bare bones of OS outreach infrastructure set up here before I go with hopes that it will continue when I'm gone. If you are going to Momocon next weekend, keep an eye on this space as I'm discussing hosting an OS meetup with others!
It will likely me a few weeks to get 100% set-up post move. This is why I'm trying to finish all my owed work in anticipation for a June move-in date. Keep an eye on this space!
I think that about covers it! As always, thank you guys so much for the endless support and love. I'm excited to see where this new journey takes me and hope you all feel similarly. If you'd like to support my move, keep an eye on my store opening or consider dropping something into my tip jar if my work has ever resonated with you. All Ko-Fi funds moving forwards will be stashed into savings to get Carson over here with us. 🫶 Thank you for reading! 💕
