     Sadie sighed and rested her chin in her hands.  Another fricking long day at the shop.  Of course.  No Lars.  Of course.  What was his excuse today?  Another injury?  Was it homework?  Could he possibly be magically diagnosed with a deadly disease?      She stood up straight again and looked at the small watch around her wrist.  Sadie only had fifteen minutes left of her shift, but it felt like it would be forever away.  There was literally nothing to do, no one came in all day.  Except for Steven, although that was completely expected.     Sadie face-planted right onto the counter and mumbled to herself.  This was typical, yet incredibly annoying and she couldn’t even take it anymore.     “Ugh,” Sadie grumbled to herself, “I swear if you do this one more time-”     Just then Lars pushed the door open and poked his head inside.     “Hey, Sadie, I uh… sorry about today,” Lars told her with a sly smile.  “I- I just… I really wasn’t feeling that well today really-”     “Lars.  I get it.  This always happens.  Don’t even bother, it’s fine.” Sadie set her head in one of her hands again and looked up at her coworker.  “You don’t have to stay here today you know, you can go home now.  Your shift would have almost already been over by now.”     Lars frowned and stepped fully into the store and up to the counter.  “Sadie, no, really, I’m sorry.  I mean it today.“     Sadie raised and eyebrow and shuffled her feet a bit.  “What makes today any different though?”     He swallowed and shook his head.  “It doesn’t matter, really I’m just really sorry.  Honestly.”  He set his forearms on the counter and leaned in close, dangerously close.  “Are you all right?”     Sadie shifted so she could be able to look at Lars properly.  She could feel the warmth in his breath.  “Yeah, I’m ok.  It’s just…”  She paused for a few seconds and continued.  “Literally nothing happened today I guess I just got a little lonely… maybe a little upset.”     Lars frowned and reached over to place an arm on Sadie’s shoulder.  “Well, you don’t have that long left in your shift, why don’t you close up shop early?”

     Sadie crossed her arms, a look of doubt on her face.

     Lars rolled his eyes, “C’mon, they have a new game at the shop that I’ve wanted to try.”     She raised her eyebrows at him.     “You can be my player 2…?”     At that Sadie smiled and stepped out from behind the counter.  “All right, let’s go then.”  

     She closed up shop and while they were walking out the door Lars linked his hand through hers, and she wasn’t going to lie, Sadie felt like she could stay like that forever.

Will Solace couldn’t exactly say he’d wanted to go to the fair… Not really at all, actually. But his little sisters had begged, and his mom insisted he needed to get out more, meet people, make friends.

Will thought it was a little ridiculous– he had friends. Lou Ellen and Cecil were his friends, he saw them sometimes. He talked to the nurses at the local infirmary every day since he volunteered all the time. Sometimes he went to debate club at the community center.

…Okay, none of those proved his point, but he was eighteen! He graduated a few weeks ago, valedictorian to nobody’s surprise, and he needed to get into a good college and then a good medical program. And he needed to be damn focused, or all his ambitions? He could kiss them goodbye.

“Will, Will!” One of two nine-year-old twins chanted at his side. Will bit back an annoyed sigh.

“What is it, Sarah?”

“Look! Look, its a roller-coaster! Can we go, can we please?”

Will’s stomach churned just looking at it.

The thing was big, and it looked like it had a lot of loops. Will had no interest– but as crabby as he’d been lately, he did love his little sisters. He didn’t have the heart to say no.

“Uh, sure. Where’s Caroline?”

The girl in question giggled on the other side of him, the only thing making her look different from her twin being her hair-cut– short, in perky pigtails– and her glasses.

“Okay, good, everyone’s here. Sure, let’s go wait.”

So they did– in the rather long line. In all that time, one thing was on Will’s mind, and that was please, please don’t ask–

“Will, can you ride too?”

Dammit.

“Um, I don’t know. You two can go.”

The girl looked disappointed as they stepped up, but just as soon as they did the guard stopped them.

“Woah– Hold on. You two aren’t tall enough to go by yourselves.”

“What?” Caroline returned, dismayed.

“Yep. You need an adult.”

Please don’t ask–

“Will’s an adult!”

Fuck.

His sisters chose a seat with one of their friends from school, and, following the rules, Will could now only sit in the seats in front of or behind them.

In front of was no good– full.

Behind them, two boys sat together, apparently friends.

The tall guy with wind-blown, messy blonde hair wore a rather dorky Adventure Time t-shirt, but the short sleeves showed off some serious arm muscles, and Will found his heart skipping a small beat.

His eyes were cold and blue– they looked like they could be intensely piercing, if he didn’t look so happy and carefree at that moment.

He looked over at Will, a smile still dancing on his lips and in his eyes, “Hey, dude, do you want to sit down?”

“Oh, yeah– thanks.” He nodded, slightly embarrassed. The other boy– wearing a dark hoodie despite it being summer– scooted over easily.

When Will met his eyes, he swore he melted.

His eyes were a dark chocolate brown, and despite the goth punk, don’t touch me aura he was obviously trying to convey, Will found them really comforting.

“I’m Will Solace.” Will found himself saying. The boy with the dark eyes almost smiled. Will wanted him to really smile.

“Nico di Angelo.” He returned.

Nico di Angelo.

“I’m Jason. Jason Grace– It’s nice to meet you, Will.”

Jason Grace.

Will Solace.

“Yeah, you too.”

The ride started, and Will’s heart stopped.

He was gripping the rail pretty tightly, but Nico had the decency to ignore it, and Jason was busy laughing and pretending they had fallen off the rail. Not helpful.

“Will, Will!” Caroline screeched, “Look, it goes so high!”

“I see it.” He insisted. Nico looked at him.

Will was embarrassed, and was sure he’d point out Will’s obvious nervousness. But instead, he pulled his hair down, revealing messy black hair and pale, pretty, freckled skin, and asked, “Is that your sister?”

Will was a goner.

“Yes, twins.” Was all he had time to say before they had reached the top of the slope, and Jason laughed shortly before they fell– nearly straight down.

Will screamed. Will screamed his lungs raw, his chest clenching with every loop and dip and sharp turn.

It seemed like forever until they stopped.

When they did, though, Will clutched the rail of the cart, and Jason looked at him.

“Dude! Are you okay?”

Nico’s hair was an absolute wreck– oddly enough, in a cute way. Will wanted to kiss him, and he kicked himself mentally for that.

“I’m okay.” He nodded weakly.

Nico laughed– actually laughed. Jason chuckled with him. Will felt incredibly flustered.

“We can go on something more tame, dude.” Jason suggested. His eyes were so blue, holy shit. He had a neat little nick of a scar right on his top lip, and his blonde hair was cut neat but blown messy, like a soldier a few weeks after a haircut got caught in a windstorm.

Will was not the kind to crush on strangers.

“Yeah? I have to bring my sisters.”

“Its fine, they’re cute.” Nico smiled.

Will was not the kind to flirt with strangers.

“Can I have your numbers?”

Jason chuckled, “And what will you do with those?”

He really, really wasn’t.

“I haven’t decided, yet.”

“Are you flirting?” Nico said– it sounded like a real question. Will swallowed.

“Yeah, kind of.”

“With who?” Jason looked amused.

“Both of you.”

Nico held his hand out for Will’s phone, “Are you doing anything on Friday, Jason?”

“No, Nico, as a matter of fact I’m not.”

“Will?”

Will handed the boy his phone. This was not his comfort zone.

“No, I’m not, but I’d like to.”

Will decided he definitely liked being outside of his comfort zone, in this case.

so basically this thing works like this: we write little short things (or maybe bits and peices of ongoing things?? who knows) and post them here (ill list our fandoms below-- beth and ijeoma’ll add theirs too). OR you can send!!! requests!!! for now, ye, theyre open, but note that we might not get to all of them!

If you want a certain writer to do one, make sure you say so, otherwise we’ll just surprise you.

ALSO, we’ll do shippy things, but we ship a lot of things and dont really want to list them all rn so just send in your idea and we’ll actually probably like it!!
