((This is an extremely short fic I wrote that I thought I’d share; it takes place pre-game and I’m currently trying to come up with a title for it. TW for self-harm; gonna put it under a read more so no one who doesn’t want to see it will.))

Monsters didn't bleed.

Sometimes Alphys wished she could.

The substance, foreign to her, that she'd seen only in her anime seemed so wholly satisfying. Real, tangible proof of a wound, that she could see, she could touch, so she could tell she was doing something. She longed for something other than the pain- temporary, and only within herself- and the faint scratch marks her claws left. She wanted to see red drops of regret surface, see them stain her lab coat, as messy and real as what she felt. She wanted something to show. Something to show she knew she was awful, she knew she’d hurt people, and she was trying, she was trying, she was trying to make up for it. She was trying, she was trying, she was trying to do to herself even a fraction of what she did to them. She was trying, she was trying, she was trying.

But she didn't bleed.

There was no justice. There was no closure.

And no one knew.

((100 followers!!! ...I just realized I actually posted about this milestone before but then I vanished as I tend to do and lost a couple. Whatever, it’s still a big deal to me! I’ve got something cool planned for this, but it’ll probably take a week or so because I keep procrastinating. Anyway, you’re all AWESOME, and keep an eye out for the thing~))

i’m so bad at talking on the phone… I can barely order food. really, I get nervous and start stuttering so bad that I don’t think the person on the other end can even understand what I’m saying… then I usually get embarrassed and hang up mid-order and end up eating instant noodles instead. except this one time I was with Undyne… she saw that that was happening and snatched the phone right out of my claw and started yelling into it, just like “SHE WANTS A MEDIUM CHEESE PIZZA AND A TWO-LITER OF SODA, TRY LISTENING NEXT TIME! AND IF THE ORDER SHOWS UP WRONG, I’M GONNA KICK YOUR BUTT!” then she hung up and just gave me the cutest smile in the world like she’d just ordered totally normally. ...but, turns out restaurants don’t really like it when you threaten their delivery staff. so uh. we can’t get pizza from there anymore. still, it’s good to know she’s got my back.
