i feel like millennials were the last generation to be sold the “if you work hard enough you can achieve the american dream” myth and now millennials and younger know most people wont “make a name” for themselves or make enough money to live comfortably. why strive when your hard work won’t be compensated fairly? why work yourself to the bone for nothing? the illusion was harshly broken for us. and it’s hard when your parents/authority figures are still living in this illusion and insisting it exists, when it only existed for them
