Located to the east of Leshan City in southern Sichuan, some 160km from Chengdu, the GiantBuddha is the largest stone-carved Buddha statue in the world.Ā The Giant Buddha, 71 meters in height, is carved out into a tall cliff overlooking the confluence of the Minjiang, Dadu and Qingyi rivers. Leshan Giant Buddha and Mt. Emei were included on the World Heritage List in 1996.Ā According to historical records, the project of Giant Buddha began in 713 AD and was completed in 803 AD, a total of 90 years.Ā Photo by @wilmer_florez___
