Sonny blinked at him, cocking her head to the side. He was a strange man and clearly something other, but she just shrugged, “Okey-dokey, it’s break time anyway.”
The shop was fairly quiet this early in the day anyway, with only one other guest, a regular, sitting in a window seat eating a cinnamon roll with their coffee. So Sonny took off her adorable frilly apron and hung it behind the counter, shouting behind her “Dee! Imma break!”
The goth looking girl blinked behind her oversized cat-eye glasses and gave a flour covered thumbs up.
Turning back to the man, Sonny said, “Hope ya don’t mind if I have something,” as she popped over to the soda fountain and began constructing a monstrous milkshake with fruity pebbles and cotton candy flavored ice cream topped with a mountain of whip and an oreo.
Shoving a spoon into the mess she popped up on a stool, leaving an invitation beside her in the form of an empty stool, “So! watcha here for if not for food?”
Not realizing that it wasn’t the woman at the counter that was the fae that he despised so much, Augustin kept up his belligerent act, honey eyes glancing towards the person that he just barely caught a glimpse of. Not that he’d pay much attention to her at this point. Right now, all he wanted was to figure out what information they had for him and hope to god the ‘fae’ didn’t decide that he owed them one.
“I don’t give a shit what you do…” grumbling, Augustin moved forward, only pausing when the massive monstrosity of whatever she wanted to call it was placed before the stool next to the one he was about to choose … and quickly changed so that when he did sit, an empty stool remained between them.
“I told ya. Somebody here offered information. I’m here looking over some … peculiar circumstances.” he hated being vague. He really really did. But he couldn’t risk somebody overhearing. Even if the place was as good as empty, he refused to be careless.
“Was that you? Or do I got the wrong place?” huffing, Augustin leaned forward, looking over to Sonny, though rather than directly meeting her gaze, his eyes looked around her cheekbone area, a habit he had learned in order to keep from triggering fight or flight in another person, and despite his qualms against the ‘fae’, he didn’t want to do that … not yet, anyways.
“Oh, hmm...” Sonny rocked on her stool for a moment, kicking her legs as she licked her spoon clean before scooping up another bite, “Well I suppose that matters on what info you need. I’m pretty good with a lotta stuff but Dee knows more than I do about other things. Especially if its anything witchy, her mom was real into that stuff so she picked up a bunch of that just by, you know, like osmosis and junk. And we collect just about everything,” she laughed brightly, “So I might be able to find something out even if I don’t know right now.”
“But,” she gestured with her spoon, grinning, “I’ll need to know what you need to know to know if I know, ya know?”
