i’m obsessed with a food blogger who writes about cheap ways to be gourmet in your 20s and i flirt with them over comments but they never post pictures of their face and ALSO there’s a really cute grocery bagger at the store down the street who teases me and always asks to join me for dinner and i definitely want to say yes AU

there’s an overnight IT person at school who always answers the phone when i call about a problem with my computer and i totally have a crush on their voice and their exasperation and ALSO the bakery down the street is always running out of my fave scones and the adorable person behind the counter can’t hide their amusement and i think it’s super rude but also super cute AU

my boss is always telling me how perfect her son would be for me and she promises he’s coming to the next holiday party and don’t worry he’s heard all about me too and ALSO there’s this dude i slept with once a couple of months ago and sometimes he still sends me dick pics when i ask him to at 3 in the morning cause seriously dude’s got a good dick AU

our kids are bitter rivals and the only time we ever meet is when we’re both called to the principal’s office and whatever maybe i think you’re kind of cute but your kid’s a monster and ALSO someone keeps buying the last everything bagel at my favorite coffee shop 2 minutes before i get there in the morning and has heard about my plight and has started leaving me bragging notes about it AU

i hired a dog walking company and i’ve never met the person who comes to my apartment but they leave me really cute notes and they give my dog presents and i kind of love them because my dog does and ALSO one of the artists at this gallery opening is hella cute and i want them to paint me like one of their french girls AU

Hey y’all!

I don’t post nearly enough, if ever, but this is what I’m up to when I’m not at work or online.

I’m part of Wildlife Rescue of Dade County, one of two rehab centers in Miami Fl, and the only one that can take rabies vector species.

We treat all injured, orphaned, or displaced native wildlife, including raccoons, foxes, squirrels, possums, songbirds, raptors, snakes, even not so common things like otters, bats, and eagles.

All of these pictures are from the past two months! This is just a small sample!

Those two barn owls up top? Released yesterday after 2 months and 2 days of raising. The raccoon below had a broken arm. The vulture has a permanent broken wing and lives on the property. The ruby throated hummingbird also has a broken wing. The Cooper’s hawk was a window strike victim while the red shouldered hawk next to it is recovering from rodenticide poisoning. The baby squirrel was orphaned and the coachwhip was run over. The otter was rabies positive!

We are a nonprofit that runs solely out of pocket(we all have full time jobs outside of this, there are no paid staff) or on donations, if we are lucky enough to get them.

I think it’s hilarious when people are talking about height differences in ships and they think it’s all sunshine and rainbows, but as a friend and I were just discussing: I am tiny (at only about 5'2") while my husband is tall (6'3") and built like a house. I know what it’s like to be in a relationship like this, so please consider:

*The tiny one trying to reach something on the top shelf and the big one coming by to scoop them up and lift them with one hand so they can reach it.

*The big one has a bigger vehicle so they can stretch their legs out and the tiny one has to run and hop into it

*The big one can’t get their shoulders through a doorway and gets stuck like twice while the tiny one just slips through and laughs at them

*(my husband does this to me every so often) the tiny one caught in an uncomfortable conversation so the tall one just comes over and picks them up, puts them on their hip like a toddler, and carries them away.

*The tiny one is the scary one

*The big one is a big softie and a nerd and he just loves the tiny sarcastic one to bits

*The tiny one let’s the big one rest on them every now and then but careful don’t smoosh them

*The big one carrying the tiny one away from an argument over their shoulder

*The tiny one will fucking fight you don’t fuck with their massive teddy bear don’t get stabbed hoe

Imagine Person A always patting Person B on the shoulder or back when Person B needs help and/or does something foolish. Person B starts doing the same thing to Person A, and Person A realizes they love this.

Any ideas for a pirate x mermaid plot?

“The last thing I remember is falling overboard, but I just woke up on an abandoned beach with a merperson cradling my head. Definitely a strange thing to wake up to.” AU

Character A is a pirate that frequently travels through dangerous waters, so they’ve employed the help of Character B, a merperson, to guide their ship through dangerous waters. In return, Character A gives Character B foreign shells/stories of Character A’s travels/beautiful jewelry/etc.

While taking a break from pirating, Character A likes to relax on their secret beach and relax with their best friend/casual lover, Character B the merperson. Cue lots of cute situations like Character B decorating Character A’s hair with shells and braids, and Character A telling Character B about all of their adventures.

“I love you, however, do not start kissing my neck with those needle teeth. I’m not in the mood for that.” AU

Character A is a pirate with an immense fear of water, and one day after falling off of their ship, they’re rescued by Character B, a merperson. Character B then goes on to teach Character A how to swim.

“How about this as a trade? You visit me personally, bring me jewelry and other nice things, flatter me with compliments, and then maybe I’ll grant you access to cross my waters. Sound good, pirate?” AU

While collecting fish with other merpeople, Character A accidentally runs straight into a human net and is hauled aboard a pirate ship. Taken captive as a “rare oddity”, Character A is utterly miserable with their new life. Character B works on the ship and is responsible for keeping Character A alive.

u know i’ve expressed my love for fake married/fake dating many, many times but like. is anything better. is anything better on this earth. does any trope or genre truly care for us quite like this one. let us reflect on a few of the gifts that fake married/dating consistently gives us:

character a asks “hey, will you pretend to be my date for a week for [convoluted excuse that could easily be solved without a fake relationship]?” character b, fully convinced of the futility of their DEEP AND UNREQUITED LOVE, figures this’ll be a chance to spend time with them and possibly put their feelings to rest. character b is always wrong & it is always amazing.

having to SHARE A LIVING SPACE FOR ARBITRARY FIC REASONS. having to see eachother in their pajamas first thing in the morning, messy haired, drowsy eyed and soft faced. going from “you can have the bathroom first” to brushing their teeth beside eachother and feeling like this closeness has always existed (at the same time, painfully aware that it won’t always). 

related to the last one – “"practicing”“ their casual touching so that it’s easier when they’re in public. feeling SWOOPS OF ARDOR AND AGONY when they feel the brush of a hand on their neck, or an arm loop around their waist. don’t you love how fake marrieds/dates are always method actors who must FULLY INHABIT their roles. i love it. i live for it.

the character who wasn’t aware they were in love (maybe always had been) until the fake relationship is in full swing, realizing they have to sort their feelings out before their time together is up. sometimes they succeed and angst is minimal. most of the time they don’t, really.

telling eachother “i love you” in public and meaning it, heart aching over it, but bELIEVING THE OTHER 2 BE ACTING. my soul is still 15, this garbage still gets me. u don’t get pining better than this.

the days leading up to the end of the arrangement where one of them, still confused and muddy about their Feelings and unsure how to break things off, stiffens to the casual, reflexive touching and puts their walls back up. the other one accepts and respects this as the end of their agreement and squashes back down all the hope they ever had, stuffs it next to the heartbreak they’re ignoring deep in their chest. 

when they realize they’re actually fully and enthusiastically mutual about the way they feel and it’s, like, two parts euphoria and one part agony because they just cannOT BELIEVE, the happiness tears them in two. maybe there are weepy or laughing kisses. i don’t know but i’m usually invested like 2000%. i love fake dating/marrieds.
