Can we talk about this?!
HEY remember in WWII when Jewish people were fleeing Germany and the USA put a quota on how many Jewish immigrants they would accept because they were worried there were too many Jewish people coming over to the USA???
Reminder that the USA has always been fucking garbage to immigrants and basic humanity

If you’re trying to catch a housecat that’s gotten outside, don’t forget: they’re an ambush predator and you’re a persistence predator. You have several times more endurance than they do - use that to your advantage! Don’t run after them; that’s playing to the cat’s strengths, and vigorous pursuit may cause them to hide. Instead, follow them at a brisk walking pace until they get tired and need to have a lie-down, at which point you can simply pick them up and take them home.
I don’t even feel like I’m living anymore.
I just feel like I’m trying not to die.
How it feels to be stabbed
Getting stabbed is an experience that no one in their right mind would want to have. But, what if you do get stabbed? What would that feel like?
It usually feels like you’re being punched.
The description of being punched really hard comes up a lot when people describe the experience. One woman said she didn’t even realize she was being stabbed, she just thought her attacker was punching her as hard as he could. Many people don’t feel the actual puncturing, just the force of the knife hitting them.
You might feel nothing at all.
This wasn’t as common as the feeling of being hit, but some people said they literally felt nothing. One person said they felt nothing, but their brain started racing and their fight or flight kicked in. Another didn’t realize someone stabbed them until they saw that they were bleeding profusely.
Occasionally, it feels like you got shocked.
A few stab wound survivors described it as a very quick, but powerful, electric shock. One person described it as static electricity, while another said it was like lightening hitting them. The pain of the initial shock goes away as quickly as it occurred.
Eventually, over time, it’s probably going to hurt.
Of course the location of the stab wound effects how much it would hurt. Getting stabbed in the arm isn’t going to hurt as badly as a stab that punctured a lung. But after a while, you will most likely feel some pain. If the person wiggles the knife while it’s still in you, the pain may be more intense.
Reblogging for future reference. Most Rychillan weapons are daggers or bows/crossbows.
This is potentially life saving information everyone should know.
No you guys this post helped me find my cat. He was missing for almost a month and I’ve had him for over 12 years. After seeing this I put his favorite blanket he always slept on outside hoping he would smell mine or his scent and he was back the next fucking day asleep on it.
When my cat got out, we called and called for him, and then, later that night, I remembered similar advice to this, and so put his little scratching pad, which he adores, on the front porch. Not even half an hour later, I heard a thump, opened the door, and there was his big butt, meowing at me.
Important and vital
I don’t care that I reblogged this today I’m reblogging it again
awwwww babies ;_; i hope everyone’s pets come home safe.
Start doing the things you want🔥💯
I think I hate myself a little less
Through all the hurtful words and tears, I’ve found hope. My grandmother always told me about my disgusting excuse of a grandfather- to make a long story short he was great up until they got married, when he changed for the worse and became an abusive monster. He beat on her even when she was pregnant for their first child, causing him to be born with cerebral palsy- i can only see my love and I heading on the same dark path and I’m just terrified.
We’ve been together for 2 years now. Our once, sweet honeymoon - phase relationship started falling into a hole of hurtful arguments and cycles of “things are getting better”, “were good now” & then right back to the arguments. After a long time struggling in the unhealthy living situation with my parents, I ended up staying with him and his family. I have to admit I was playing stupid when I saw the clear warning signs that we were not ready for this. Arguments got worse and I became really emotional, I couldn’t handle the constant shit anymore so I would just cry when something happened. This just pissed him off. so we would argue more. a little more down the road we were doing a lot better. I got in a tough spot where I couldn’t find a job and I was struggling really bad with simple needs like food, tampons, clothes and he took care of everything. I’ve been welcomed into his family like and its like nothing I’ve ever felt in my entire life. Things were great until there were the arguments.
Please don’t get me wrong i’m not trying to make him out to be a bad person. My point of this is that I’ve been blaming myself. ‘I’m too difficult’, ‘I’m too emotional’,’I don’t really deserve him’. Its all bullshit. None of that is true. We’re just not right for each other. I’m 18 years old and I don’t make plans past 9 because I have to be in bed because my boyfriend has work early. I haven’t lived my life and right now, I’m afraid I wont. This might sound corny, but I realized I’m not a problem..I’m just not meant ride this cycle forever. And now to start my journey.............................
**ill keep you guys updated if you care lmao :)
In a simple experiment, researchers at the University of Chicago sought to find out whether a rat would release a fellow rat from an unpleasantly restrictive cage if it could. The answer was yes.
The free rat, occasionally hearing distress calls from its compatriot, learned to open the cage and did so with greater efficiency over time. It would release the other animal even if there wasn’t the payoff of a reunion with it. Astonishingly, if given access to a small hoard of chocolate chips, the free rat would usually save at least one treat for the captive — which is a lot to expect of a rat.
The researchers came to the unavoidable conclusion that what they were seeing was empathy — and apparently selfless behavior driven by that mental state.

OH MY.
this just in: rats are more humane than humans

Short, sweet, to the point, and totally valid in p much any workplace. I wrote this up as a homework assignment for a business class and oh man it’s helped me out so much.
If you wanna write your own just keep the general structure the same:
1st paragraph: what the job is, how you found it, you have a resume for them
2nd paragraph: Your background, what you learned, how you would fit in, show you read a little bit abt the company, what you can do
3rd paragraph: You wanna talk abt this in an interview, call or email you, thank them for their time
You can do this, cover letters don’t have to be intimidating!
