Caitha could feel the spite dripping from Lothric’s voice, and she could understand it. If she were to be born and raised only to be thrown away like a piece of trash, then she’d also have spite for those who raised her and all the divines who would have thrown her away.
“I do not intend to harm you in any way shape or form. I only wish to speak with you… May I have your permission to come inside?”
“No,” he answers flatly. “You can wait out there. Anyone could say they have peaceful intentions. I don’t believe you. I think you’re going to try and get me to change my mind, isn’t that right?”
Beyond the door there’s another presence, the sound of heavy breathing and the occasional creak of ill-maintained armor. Lothric was obviously not alone. Lorian never strayed far and it had been him who’d opened the door as Lothric waited on the stairs, and it was him who was there to stop anything that tried to get inside.
The goddess pondered carefully over what she should say next to Prince Lothric, not wanting to provoke his and Lorian's wrath. After a few short moments of thinking, Caitha spoke.
"Prince Lothric... I understand your mistrust of me. But you have to understand at least this. I, Caitha, Goddess Of Tears, never wished to have you bred and raised like a pig for slaughter."
