Update/Hiatus (sorta?)
OOC: First off, I want to apologize for my absence the past few weeks! I've been caught in a whirlwind of busyness and work amongst other things. On top of all my work for my classes now, I'm also switching universities in the fall, resulting in a lot more things I need to accomplish. I'm also going through a bit of a rough patch with some personal problems and family issues. Seeings as how I just got off spring break, and barely even had time to spare on break, I see can't myself becoming super active any time soon.
This makes me really sad since last I was aware we were starting a plot throughout the whole RP, and I was really excited. I still really want to join in, but I have no idea what's going on with it right now and I don't have the time to catch up. ;>; Plus I'm worried that I would just drag the rest of my group down with my frequent inactivity.
I'm going to stay, and (very) infrequently respond to anyone who might want to roleplay with me one on one and doesn't mind that I'm a little slow. There's just so much going on right now. I hope I'm not just dead weight to this group. Forgive me! ;u;
Open RP; Undiscovered lands (Zelda, Shad, Nabooru)
So, this really was Hyrule. Had she really time traveled to Hyrule of another time? If so, was she in the past or future? And what is this Skyloft Zelda-
Zelda?!
“Your name’s Zelda?” Nabooru questioned, neglecting to respond to anything else said. “I know a Zelda, back in…well, the Hyrule I come from. She’s the princess.” The two definitely looked similar, the Zelda she knew and this one, but…was it just a coincidence? Perhaps they were related in some way…like long lost cousins or something.
Realizing she must seem rude, she smiled apologetically at Shad. “It is a pleasure to meet you both, and thank you for informing me of my current whereabouts.” She looked him over once more and crossed her arms, he smile becoming her trademark smirk. “But you seem to be a reasonably smart man, Shad. So perhaps you can tell me why this Hyrule is different from the one I came from.”
Shad kept his eyes trained on the new woman, until he heard the phrase, ‘Skyloft, far above the clouds.’ Then, for a few moments, he held his discerning expression while his brain caught up.
His mouth suddenly dropped open wide and he turned to make sure he heard right, but not before she introduced herself to the company.
Everyone’s breath caught in their throats.
He remained still while the second woman explained herself. How…? His eyes widened, then sharpened, when she described her own Princess. At his name, he nodded, but didn’t straighten forward. Rather, his eyes trailed to a spot on the ground, and he took off his spectacles to polish them on the tail of his vest.
“The Princess Zelda,” he murmured. Replacing them, he finally looked to the second woman and replied, “This very Kingdom’s Princess is called Zelda as well, madam. But what do you mean when you say, the Hyrule YOU come from? Don’t you hail from here?”
He glanced toward Zelda.
“Funny enough, ma’am, it seems you share the name of two great rulers, should we take the facts at face-value,” he went on calmly. Calmly, though his heart beat faster now than before. It took a compromise by rhythmically tapping his foot to keep from losing himself in thought and pacing.
“…Perhaps,” he concluded slowly, “we should all begin by describe how we came to arrive here; this very spot. I’ll start.”
He straightened his posture and began simply: “I live here, in ‘the Hyrule’ the both of you find so foreign. I live in the Castletown…just there,” he nodded, directing his head to the towering walls nearby.
“Next…Miss Zelda,” he went on, adjusting his stunned tone and replacing his smile, “where do you mean when you say…Skyloft? And,” he added, raising himself up on his toes before he realized, “do you by any chance know of a species called the Oocca?”
Zelda cocked her head to the side and raised both eyebrows in bewilderment at the sudden confusion over her name and self-described origins. Could the shared titles of each respective 'Zelda' in question be a mere coincidence? Her eyes searched both Shad's and the woman's faces in silence before coming to a conclusion. No. Absolutely not. It couldn't be. Judging based on what she had discovered in her father's hidden texts, their worlds must be interconnected in some way; after all, how else would her song have successfully landed her here? Whether on a different plane of existence or simply forward or backward in the future was still a mystery to her. The idea seemed a bit preposterous, but still having access to a pool of Hylia's memories, Zelda deduced that these other "Zeldas" had either inherited her name, or, even more outrageous: were these world's own variations of herself. Or more specifically, of Hylia. She didn't know if she fully wanted to accept this; it seemed a bit vain to assume, and the idea of being connected to royalty sent chills down her spine. But for now, it was the only hypothesis she could come up with.
Unfortunately, she was unaware of how to break such overwhelming news to her peers so suddenly.
Zelda laughed nervously and shuffled her feet. "This is all rather astounding. But..no coincidence, of that I am almost certain. But I'll get back to that later." Zelda gazed curiously at Shad. "To answer your question, Shad, I have no recollection of ever having encountered this "Oocca" species. The land I hail from - Skyloft - is a collection of floating islands in the sky. They are pieces of the land sent heavenward by our Goddess to save our people from imminent destruction from an evil entity known as "the Demon King", or so the legend goes. There is much more to it than that, but I risk going on and on all day, and time is precious. I arrived here after my own volition; I've been reading up on a mass collection of secret texts that spoke of a land called "Hyrule", and wanted to test a personal theory of mine."
"In fact- I have the key which allowed me to pass over here." She retraced a couple steps behind her and searched the grass for her fallen harp. Upon its recovery, she presented it to both of them.
"Its called the the Goddess harp, passed directly from the Goddess herself; Hylia, into my hands." she paused, realizing she must sound foolish going on about all these things. "I don't suppose such a thing would hold any significance to either of you, would it?"
*blinks* Ahaha, yes... I get that a lot. How do I know your name? Word gets around pretty quickly, little lady. I doubt there's a soul in your town who doesn't know who you are.
*Furrows eyebrows* That may be so, but you certainly don't look like anyone from around here. Is there any particular reason you sought me out, then? What is your name..?
Open RP; Undiscovered lands (Zelda, Shad, Nabooru)
The sensation of being watched suddenly struck Nabooru cause her to slow down and turn golden optics toward the source. Two figures, one male and female, stood not too far from her. She slowed her pace, curious as to why these two were staring at her as if she had crawled out from a hole in the ground like some kind of beast. She wondered if they had ever seen a Gerudo before…
Upon investigating the two a little closer, the Gerudo decided these two didn’t seem dangerous; neither appeared to be armed, nor did they seem to be sneaky or underhanded. Knowing she at least needed a little information about her whereabouts.
Nabooru switched course suddenly and headed toward the two figures, attempting to be as non-threatening as possible. She smiled softly at the two, noting that her assumptions were better confirmed when they did not square up for an attack.
“Hello,” she greeted, bowing her head slightly. “I apologize for interrupting this meeting, but I was hoping one of you could tell me just where we are?”
“I’m…truly not sure,” he whispered to the woman over his shoulder. Swallowing once, he whet his lips and finally called, “Hello! Are you lost?”
As soon as he made the remark, he wished he hadn’t. He mentally kicked himself—blast! Lost?!
When the stranger drew closer, Shad stood as straight as he was able and, noting her expression, forced his own into a smooth smile. No need to be concerned, old boy. This woman likely sought the Castle Town, with her adorned attire. He only prayed she didn’t actually seek passers-by instead.
Though he nearly forgot to keep up appearances entirely upon her next question. He blinked, turned to glance toward the other woman, then turned back around and nodded.
“…Certainly!” he replied, suddenly smiling wider than necessary.
“This is the land of Hyrule,” he said again. “We’re just beyond the castle. My name is Shad, and this is…?”
He paused, and hurriedly peered back again. Goodness, in his hurry he hadn’t even asked the woman her name.
Zelda gazed at the woman in befuddlement. From the short exchange of words that had taken place, it was clear that she was not from here either. What a coincidence, that she would end up here just minutes after her own landing in this place. Or...was it a coincidence? Zelda wondered if Hylia's intuition to lead her here and this woman's purpose, whatever it might be, were one in the same.
She gathered herself and joined the man's side, whom she now knew called himself Shad, and looked the woman square in eyes. She felt a bit intimidated by her blazing eyes, but took a deep breath and spoke up regardless. "Pardon me, I don't mean to interrupt--but do you recall how you arrived here? You see - I too was lost until Shad here happened upon me. I'm not from Hyrule." She turned to face Shad as she spoke, answering one of the questions he most likely had. "I come from a place called Skyloft, far above the clouds. But this is no time for lengthy introductions. We can discuss that later. My name is Zelda," She executed a slight bow to both of her peers and smiled enthusiastically, "and I'm eternally grateful to have run into the two of you today."
OOC; Is it just me or is tumblr having a really hard time with message notifications??
Another Zelda, hm? The loveliest by far, I'm sure.
L-Link??! *blinks* Oh, wait…you’ll have to excuse me. For a second I thought you resembled someone I know.. *blushes and stares hard at the ground* There’s no need for flattery! How do you know my name? Who are you?
Open RP; Undiscovered lands (Shad, Nabooru)
((Jumping in because I feel like I haven’t been active in foreeeever. Plus I’m just assuming it’s winter still at this point :x))
Bundled up in her warmest, dark red cloak, a matching scarf around her neck an covering half of her face, Nabooru mounted her trusty, Gerudo-bred mare and urged her out of the stables of her blazing desert home and toward the brisk fields of Hyrule. Under normal circumstances, the desert-dwelling sage would not have left the borders of Gerudo Valley while Hyrule experienced colder weather. She despised the cold after all. But these were definitely special circumstances.
Something strange had been happening to her people, and she was determined to find out what, even if it meant braving the freezing temperatures.
After what seemed like hours, the drawbridge leading to the Market and the Castle came into view, causing the red-headed woman to heave a sigh of relief. She hopped of her horse and high-tailed it across the drawbridge and into the Market.
As usual, the place bustled with activity, vendors shouting out their wares and buyers scrambling to receive the best prices. Nabooru had no interest in either however, and weaved her way through the crowds toward the temple behind the Market. Even though she had already spoke to the other sages about the problem at hand, she hoped perhaps Rauru would have new insight.
As the entered the Temple of Time, something caught her eye in the periphery, causing her to halt mid-step. An archway she had never seen stood off the the side. But what was curious about it was that instead of the wall on the other side showing in the arch, there seemed to be what looked like a broken village on the other side.
With a raised eyebrow, Nabooru approached the arch, stopping just inches before it. She raised a tentative hand and extended it toward the village. A small gasp escaped her lips as her fingers did not hit anything solid, but rather passed right through to the other side. Her curiosity getting the better of her, the Gerudo stepped through the arch, finding herself standing in the middle of the run-down village she had just seen.
“Where…” Nabooru turned around in a circle, taking in her surroundings. She had certainly never been here before, and her urge to explore grew exponentially.
“Well, what could a little exploration of a new place hurt? And who knows? Maybe there will be some evidence about what’s back home happening here.” she mumbled under her breath, heading toward what looked like an exit.
After following a rather long trail, Nabooru finally reached an enormous field that, in some ways, reminded her of Hyrule Field back home. As she stepped into the grass, she could not help but feel as if she were still in Hyrule. As she glanced around, the sight of a castle over the horizon seemed to strengthen such a theory. “This definitely calls for a bit more investigation…” Without further hesitation, Nabooru headed off toward the castle.
“This might sound strange, but you seem like a respectable man…Tell me, where are we? Is this…Hyrule?”
Shad tilted his head and blinked.
“My my…this fall must have been a nasty one,” he murmured. Then he shook himself.
“Oh, how rude of me, I do apologize…erm, yes, madam. You’re in the Kingdom of Hyrule—just outside the Castletown walls, in fact!”
He took a step or two closer. The young woman didn’t appear concussive, though she seemed unsure of her surroundings.
“Are you sure you’re alright?” he asked.
Shad would have addressed her in another manner, then, if a shadow off his peripheral vision didn’t give him pause. He stopped, and slowly turned toward the watery sun.
A figure approached from a distance; though the scholar normally didn’t judge appearances, they certainly didn’t dress like they dwelled here. Perhaps they and the young woman…?
Regardless, he felt himself grow tense. He turned his back to the woman and called over his shoulder, “Just a moment. I’d stay quiet—let’s wait for the travelers to pass before we see about getting you help.”
Zelda felt a bewildered elation fill her spirit, and gasped at herself. Her theorizing had turned out to be right after all! She hadn't doubted that Hylia's guidance would lead her here, but she couldn't help feeling shocked by it all. "Wow, so this is really the fabled land of Hyrule!" she cried out amidst her dizzy haze with a tinge of girlish excitement.
"I'm fine, honestly, there's no need to make a fuss over me." Now that this young man had confirmed her whereabouts, Zelda felt a bit more self-possessed and began to regain composure. She was just about to introduce herself properly when she noticed he was staring off behind him, looking rather uneasy. Following his gaze curiously, she saw her. The woman approaching, while still a measurable distance away, was without a doubt one of the most exotically beautiful and mysterious beings Zelda had ever seen.
She heeded the man's suggestion and quieted herself. Hushing her tone so that only he could hear, she questioned somewhat naively, "Do you suppose she might be lost, too? Should we ask her if she needs help?" Zelda mentally kicked herself after saying this. What was she thinking, trying to offer her help to a stranger when she herself was foreign to this new land?

((Jumping on this one! I know I had some other plans in the works, if those RPers would like to join as well?))
Shad’s weekly Kakariko visit would have been less hassle if he didn’t have to decide which books to bring each time. Perhaps he ought to devise what he worked on last…but then again, he hadn’t touched these tomes in oh so long…and didn’t Renado comment on the spine for this encyclopedia…?
Shad had stopped short the futile hour before, tapping a finger to his chin in time with the sole of his shoe on the rough wood floor. Staring at the bookcase with growing anxiety, he finally—carefully—withdrew his latest research materials and slid them into his travel pack, along with his late Father’s journal and his own records. With a sigh, he strung up the whole thing over one shoulder and adjusted his glasses, spotted and dusty for the effort.
They made it much more difficult to see his way down the stairs and out the door, through the mottled evening Castletown light and around the last courtyard minglers. He kept his head low, worried that for want of a weapon he wouldn’t be allowed passage—though of course all the guards knew him by now.
If not for his tutelage, then for his recent Castle exploits this past summer.
Even though the sun rose ages ago, the grass directly alongside the castle sprung slick and soft beside the fine sand road. Shad made the journey on foot; if he hastened, he would arrive in Kakariko before the moon finished rising. There hadn’t been monsters since his last collaboration with the Resistance and the Hero, Link—he just gulped over the wild animals, now.
This was why he jumped when he saw what appeared to be a white shift in the deep green lawn, some ways down a knoll beside the castle wall. When he finally tugged off his glasses, polished them hastily with a shirttail, and replaced them again, he blinked and discovered the white mound had arms. Hand. A blonde head. Before he finished rationalizing that a young woman sat there, helping herself off the ground, his legs already started out from under him across the slippery grass.
“Hello there!” he called, still some ways away. Proper introductions could wait for a closer proximity.
“Are you quite alright?” he added, skidding a little on the dew and stopping with a lurch.
((Great! I think it'd be wonderful if we could get more RPers to join as well. Anyone can feel free to jump in whenever - and if you don't feel hopping in willy nilly would work, shoot me a message and we can try to bring the RP to your character. The plot can be fairly flexible, as far as I'm concerned.))
Zelda staggered, somewhat alarmed by the voice behind her, and instantly lost any composure she had attempted to regain. Her legs were still trembling from the recoil of her sudden warp, and she was still slightly shaken from the shock that her efforts had even been successful.
Slowly and with effort, she turned around to face the stranger who had come to her aid. Standing before her was a young man, who she judged couldn't be much older than herself, looking a bit disheveled albeit well put together and scholarly.
She finally realized that her unabashed gawking was probably making him uncomfortable. "Oh! Pardon me," Zelda spoke as clearly as she could in her current state, and stood up to regain herself, though the ground appeared to wobble beneath her. "I'm fine, really! I seem to just have made a..." she looked around again, confirming her surroundings, "A bit of an unexpected landing."
She had no desire to trouble this man, but seeing as how he had so kindly stopped for her and she had no other lead as to where to go now that she was here, she decided to risk making a fool of herself. "This might sound strange, but you seem like a respectable man...Tell me, where are we? Is this...Hyrule?"

Becca told me about how Zelda Fitzgerald once saw her husband talking with another woman and then threw herself down a flight of stairs out of jealousy. So she presented the idea of this messy little webcomic here, which I feel is appropriate considering how Fitzgerald is the inspiration for our beloved Zelda’s name. Talk about falling head over heals.
OOC: Poor Zelda's been pretty sad and lonely lately. It looks like I chose the worst time to be active; that's just my luck. Every single one of my threads have died and at least 2 other people have just vanished off the face of the planet.
Its tough being a goddess with no friends.

Zelda snapped the book shut and drummed her fingers on the cover restlessly, letting out an anxious sigh.
"There's just so much I don't know."
She had been doing a lot of reading lately. After she, Link, and Groose had returned from their adventures on the surface, Gaepora finally granted her access to the ancient texts he had kept hidden from her grasp in his room. Ever since she was a little girl she had inquired about them, but her father never obliged her, only telling her "it was too much for a little girl".
But now that her identity as Hylia reborn had been unveiled, the tides had turned. Zelda had been so engrossed that she hardly made an effort to leave her desk for the past three days. She figured she didn't have much else to do, what with Link always off scouting the surface as of late.
Something about the texts perplexed her. Something even she, after having ample access to Hylia's memories, was not aware of. The volumes hinted at entirely new legends and lands that seemed almost ahead of their time. They spoke of the formation of "Hyrule" and of the three goddesses and green-cladden heroes that weren't the Link she had grown up with.
Finally, she stood. These books clearly did not originate in Skyloft, which means that they came from somewhere else. That had to mean there was some kind of link between Skyloft and the realms mentioned in the texts. There was only one place Zelda guessed might give her a lead: The Isle of Songs.
Taking off on her blue loftwing at once and bringing her harp with her, Zelda made haste towards the beacon of light emanating from the ominous thunderhead cloud in the distance. She knew she was being extremely reckless-- leaving on a whim without telling a single soul of her whereabouts-- but her mind had been made up. She reached the Isle with little difficulty and finally entered the aged building there through a small crawlspace.
Staring into the statue of the goddess' eyes, Zelda took a deep breath and prepared to play. "Hylia, hear me." She whispered, striking her breast before she began to play a graceful rendition of the Ballad of the Goddess.
Suddenly the statue shifted and Zelda found herself encased in a blinding dance of light.
She awoke next to the gates of a castle - a structure so huge and breathtaking- the likes of which she had never witnessed before.
"Did it really work? ..Could this be...Hyrule?"
((Still here, just lurking. Might start up a thread soon, if anyone is active. owo))

Zelda of Skyloft: goddessoftheskies started following you
"Very well." Sheik said, reaching out his hand and shaking it along with hers. "There's no need to be startled, Zelda. As a member, and one of the leaders of the Sheikah Tribe, i get to spend a lot of time with Impa... And due to our closeness is that i've heard of you.. So, don't worry, i promise i'm not an enemy."
"Impa..." Zelda's brow furrowed as she gazed intently upon the Sheikah. "Impa never mentioned any others of the Sheikah tribe...and, as it turns out..." she struggled to form her words and glanced at the ground in sorrow. It was only recently that she had watched her beloved protector and mentor vanish before her eyes. "Impa is gone, I'm afraid. She passed from this world. So how could it be that you have spoken with her?"
