the adventuring party, having finally defeated me, has their archer pull their bowstring at full draw just inches away from my face as a threat to keep me in check. i smirk, calling their bluff: it's incredibly taxing for an archer to hold full draw for more than maybe a dozen or so seconds, especially at higher draw weights, and it's unlikely that they'll be able to keep their form like this for much longer. even if they do, it'll have disastrous consequences for the shooter, as there's not enough space for the arrow to fly loose through me, never mind the hewn stone wall I've been backed up to. the resulting resistance, should the archer fire their bow, will consequently shatter the arrow into splinters, likely recoiling through the bowstring and possibly having disastrous consequences on the archer's shooting arm and putting them out of commission for days, if not weeks. of course, my deduction is correct; everything occurs in sequence precisely as I had described it immediately after the archer shoots me through the skull, killing me instantly
