You had only stepped out for a quick run to the convenience store, for some late night snacks. It was half past eleven, sure, but you knew this neighborhood like the back of your hand, and it had always been safe, that was the whole reason you’d moved here.
So why was this happening to you?
Your footsteps quickened against the pavement as you scanned the empty street, your eyes darting in panic, searching for anything, anyone. Someone who might make the creeping dread clawing up your spine disappear.
But the street remained still.
Except for the creeps who had been catcalling you since the moment you left your apartment building. Every word made your stomach twist tighter in fear, your pace quickening despite your effort to stay calm.
You didn’t dare turn around now, not wanting to give them the satisfaction to see you scared as hell.
But you were about to piss your pants.
The sound of their footsteps followed you down the empty street. It was too late to turn back to your building now, and the convenience store felt so far away even thought you were almost there.
Then you saw him, your neighbor, stepping outside the convenience store with a plastic bag on his hand. Relief hit you so suddenly it almost made your knees buckle. You’d never actually spoken beyond a polite “hello” or the occasional “good morning” in passing, but right now, that didn’t matter.
It felt like seeing an oasis in the middle of a desert.
You hurried to reach him.
“Can I trouble you for a moment?” you blurted, your voice trembling as your hand shot out to grab one of the sleeves of his leather jacket. You clung to it like a lifeline, fingers tightening as if he might vanish if you let go. Your whole body shook beneath your oversized clothes.
He turned to face your shaking form, clearly caught off guard, but his expression softened the moment he saw your scared face, recognizing you instantly. Gently, he grabbed your arms to steady you, his eyes searching yours as if trying to piece together what had frightened you so badly.
“Hey there, what's wrong? " he asked, his sultry calming you almost instantly.
“I- I think someone is following me,” you whispered, barely able to get the words out.
He shifted slightly, placing himself between you and the dark stretch of street behind you without making it obvious.
“You’re okay,” he said reassuringly, giving your arms a gentle squeeze. “Stay right here., I'll be right back.”
He lifted his gaze past you, his posture straightening as he headed back the way you’d come.
“Hey,” he called out, his voice carrying across the empty street like a warning. “You lost something?”
You could hear the warning in his voice, and fear theirs. Their voices slightly muffled by the distance. There was a short exchange of words, before the footsteps retreated in a hurry.
Was he okay? Have they dine something to him? Is he hurt?
You didn’t realize you’d been holding your breath until you saw him walking back toward you. Only then did you finally exhale in relief.
He reached you and, once again, and gave your arms a gentle squeeze.
“They're gone” he murmured, offering you a soft, reassuring smile. “I’ll walk you back,” he said, already glancing down the street again, still in alert.
This time, he didn’t step away. If anything, he moved a little closer to you, one hand still resting on your arm while the other held the convenience store’s plastic bag.
“Uhm… thank you. Truly,” you said, your voice still a little shaky, though the fear was slowly subsiding. “I don’t know how to thank you enough for that.”
“Don’t mention it,” he replied, finally looking back at you, his gaze lingered for a moment longer than necessary.
“It’s not safe to be out here alone this late,” he added, his tone softer now, though the edge of protectiveness hadn’t left it.
You nodded, hugging your arms slightly, suddenly aware of how close he was.
“I didn’t think it would be a big deal,” you admitted quietly. “I’ve walked this street a hundred times.”

You walked back to your apartment building in silence.
Every now and then, you found yourself glancing over at him. At his straight nose, his soft jaw, his indistinctively striking blue eyes. At the way his eyes kept looking back at you just to make sure you were okay.
The usual seriousness in his expression hadn’t changed much; he still looked as unapproachable as ever. But standing close to him, you remembered all the times you had interacted with him, and all of them had one thing in common: he had never been rude or unkind, just a little reserved.
You couldn’t help but wonder why you had ever mistaken his seriousness for unkindness.
But you had seen something else that night. He had stepped in without hesitation, as if there had never been a question of whether he would help, but a fact. You remembered the steadiness in his voice when yours had nearly given out, pulled you back from the edge of panic.
By the time your apartment building came into view, the tight knot in your chest had disappeared completely. He slowed as you approached your apartment door, his steps matching yours until you both came to a stop just outside. For a moment, neither of you said anything.
You turned to face him, your fingers curling slightly into the sleeves of your sweater.
“This is me,” you said softly, offering a small, grateful smile.
He nodded, his gaze flicking briefly to the door before settling back on you, double checking that you were truly alright.
“Good,” he murmured.
You hesitated, then added, “Thank you. Really. I don’t know what would’ve happened to me if you weren’t there.”
“I’m glad I was,” he said simply, a faint smile touching his lips.
You reached for the door, unlocking it before stepping inside. Then you paused, glancing back at him in confusion.
“Wait, I’m sorry. I don’t think I got your name, it seems silly to ask you now after what you did for me” you said, laughing softly.
“Leon,” he replied, staring down at your face as you told him your name.
You lingered for half a second longer then, debating, and before you could overthink it, you stepped forward.
He barely had time to react before you leaned in and pressed a quick, soft kiss to his cheek. When you pulled back, your heart was racing for an entirely different reason.
“Thanks again. Goodnight, Leon,” you murmured, a shy smile slipping through.
His eyebrows lifted in surprise, the reaction subtle but unmistakable. But there was no displeasure in his expression, if anything, something softer flickered there.
“Goodnight,” he said finally, his voice lower now, a little gentler.
And as you turned to leave, you could still feel his attention following you.
Behind you, he exhaled slowly, almost inaudibly, a hand lifting to brush his cheek where your lips had been, still surprised.
You didn’t wait long enough to second guess yourself. Instead, you slipped inside, closing the door behind you. Your back rested against it as you let out a breath you didn’t realize you’d been holding.

a/n: this is for a request but I can't find it:p I think I deleted it on accident. I hope you like it! about 900 words!
warnings: There is like a minor scratch and a little bit of blood, other than that js pure fluff.
“Please? Just this once.”
Leon had been dodging your request for weeks.
Every time you brought it up, he’d brush it off with a sarcastic remark, or pretend he hadn’t heard you at all, like if he ignored it long enough, you’d eventually drop it. But you were determined to annoy him long enough until he’d finally cave and let you do it.
So eventually, with a long exhale and a tired shake of his head, he gave in.
"I'm not going to kiss you until you shave, it tickles me."
“Fine, let’s go,” he muttered.
He took your hand in his, warm and much bigger than yours, gently guiding you to the bathroom, where he sat on the toilet to make it easier for you to reach his face.
“Go ahead, shave it,” he said, defeated.
Leon almost wanted to take that back when your face lit up like with mischief. You meant trouble.
He sat there, shirt discarded somewhere on the floor, watching you bend slightly in front of him with a level of focus that felt wildly out of proportion for what you were doing. Your brows were knit together, lips pressed in concentration, your movements were slow and precise like you were handling something fragile.
“Relax,” he said after a minute, a faint smirk tugging at his mouth. “You’re acting like you’re defusing a bomb.”
“I could mess this up, and I’m the one who gets to see your face and kiss it, y’know,” you murmured, barely glancing up at him. “So hold still.”
“I am holding still.”
“More still.”
Leon huffed softly but obliged, leaning his head back, eyes drifting to the ceiling. Still, he couldn’t help glancing at you every so often. It was kind of endearing, seeing you so focused and determined.
He didn’t say anything for a second, just watched you, the way your lashes lowered when you focused, the tiny crease between your brows, the way your lips parted just a little when you concentrated too hard.
“You’re taking this way too seriously,” he added, softer now.
“Mm.” You barely reacted. “I just want my man to look handsome.”
His mouth twitched, not quite a smirk this time.
“Didn’t realize I signed up for all of this,” he said, but there was no real bite to it.
“You did when you asked me out,” you replied, adjusting your grip with careful precision. “Now, silence.”
He obeyed for once, it was quiet for a while with only the soft hum of the bathroom light and the faint sound of your breathing filling the silence.
But then your hand slipped just the tiniest bit, and it was enough to cut through his skin.
“Shit. Shit. I’m so sorry- Oh my God, I’m so sorry, baby.” You pulled back instantly, panic flashing across your face as your free hand reached for the warm towel you had prepared to put pressure on the wound.
“Huh?” Leon blinked, more startled by you than anything else.
“I didn’t mean to- I swear, I was being careful, I just- Hold on.” You leaned in closer, eyes wide, scanning his face like you’d find something terrible there. “I’m so so so sorry, my love.”
He frowned slightly, reaching up instinctively before you could spiral any further. His fingers brushed his cheek, and when he glanced toward the mirror, it took him a second to even spot it since his neck and half of his face were covered in the shaving cream.
A thin, faint red line.
He let out a short laugh in disbelief.
“Seriously?”
Your stomach dropped at his tone.
“I’m sorry.”
“Hey, relax,” he cut you off, reaching for your wrist before you could pull away completely. His grip was gentle. “You’re freaking out over that?”
“It’s not nothing,” you insisted, your voice softer now but still tight with guilt. “I hurt you.”
Leon tilted his head, trying to understand why you were making such a big deal out of this.
“I’ve got worse all over my face, I fight bioweapons for a living,” he reminded you, brows lifting slightly. “And this is what you’re panicking about?”
“I just wanted to do something nice for you,” you shot back, quieter this time.
His expression softened almost immediately.
“Hey,” he murmured. His thumb came up, brushing lightly under your chin, nudging your gaze back to him.
“It’s just a scratch, babe,” he said, voice low and steady now. “I promise I’m fine.”
“You’d tell me if it hurt?” You hesitated, searching his face, like you were trying to catch him in a lie.
A small smile tugged at his lips, warmer this time.
“Yeah,” he said simply. “I would.”
You stayed like that for a second longer, caught between doubt and relief, before your shoulders slowly dropped, tension easing out of you.
“Alright.”
“Okay,” he echoed, giving your chin a light tap before leaning back again. "Just give me a heads up before you stab me next time, okay?"
You slapped his chest playfully.
“Don’t make fun of me,” you muttered, but you picked the razor back up anyway, slower this time.
Leon shook his head, amused, settling in as he watched you resume your careful work.
“Just so you know,” he added after a second, his voice laced with mischief, “you’re not getting a tip. The service wasn’t it.”
She froze for half a heartbeat before narrowing her eyes at him.
“Asshole.”

Between You and the Dark
Leon Kennedy x wife!reader

Summary: Some battles don’t end when the mission does. When Leon returns home carrying more than he can bear, you stay by his side through the sleepless nights, the nightmares, and every fragile moment in between – loving him through the parts of himself he struggles to face.
Word count: 2k
Featuring: comfort, fluff, light angst, hurt/comfort, nightmares, post-nightmare comfort, emotional vulnerability, gentle touch, hugging, kissing, helping Leon shower, established relationship.
A/N: In my HCs, this poor man rarely has peaceful nights, so I decided to put my own visualization into writing, where we properly comfort him. Insert your favourite Leon here. English is not my native language, sorry for any mistakes.
Leon’s returns from missions were always difficult for him. Coming back to reality after all the horrors he’d endured never happened overnight. And while your presence was the best remedy he had, sometimes even that wasn’t enough – sometimes the memories haunted him in the one place you couldn’t follow him: his dreams.
Leon had come home at dawn. He hadn’t slept a wink that night, only curling up against your back and gently stroking you, careful not to wake you. During the day, he’d been distant – lost in thought, absent-minded, needing a few extra seconds to answer even the simplest of your questions.
You knew he couldn’t help it. All you could do was stay by his side and surround him with care every step of the way – and that’s exactly what you did, never leaving him alone for a moment. Though he couldn’t quite put it into words, you knew he was grateful; the way he held you close, lingering in your warm, safe embrace, said more than a thousand words ever could.
this is everything i needed
