Dreamer’s Wonderland

Dreamer’s Wonderland is a new little Discord server I am making, that intends to be a fun, cozy, safe space primarily focused on creations made in the game Dreams for PS4 and PS5. Although Dreams is our main focus, we want to appeal to other creatives as well. Do you create in blender? Draw? Make Roblox games? We’d still love to see your creations!

Q. What type of space is it?

A. Dreamer’s Wonderland is a safe space for EVERYONE (must comply with Discord’s age rules.) We don’t tolerate disrespect of any kind and prioritise inclusivity.

Q. What is the server about?

A. It’s mostly for sharing Dreams content - creations you made, or ones you find cool, and finding collaborators to help you with stuff. But people can post other forms of art too.

Q. Do I have to be a dreams player to join?

A. No. It is our primary focus, but your presence is still appreciated otherwise. We are also looking to make the server more interesting in terms of non-Dreams stuff.

Q. What is there to do there?

A. I’m still figuring that out. This server was created by me and one friend, so we are both very new to this and testing the waters. Currently you can chat, listen to music, post stuff, and play games with certain bots. We aspire to be more interactive one day, with things like Game Jams.

Creator Jams!

I am excited to announce that a proposal for how we will run Creator Jams has been published in Dreamer’s Wonderland! Creator Jams are NOT YET live, as we still need more members and would like some feedback. But the proposal is up for review.

If you’d like more info on Dreamer’s Wonderland, then please check the previous post. But to summarise, we are a cozy, safe Discord server aiming to keep the spirit of Media Molecule’s Dreams alive. We also allow the posting of other types of art, and certain games like Minecraft and Roblox, so please don’t hesitate to join if you aren’t a Dreams player!

I think we’re all aware of it, but it’s worth saying just in case: Tumblr has a very bad bot/scam problem. These bots and scams can happen in many different ways, but it’s important to be able to recognise when not to trust something.

As someone who mostly posts art, I tend to get the “Do you do commissions?” comment under nearly every single post. This one is almost always a scam or bot, unfortunately, and it’s best to just delete and ignore these comments.

Sometimes I will get comments saying “I need to DM you about your account” or something. These ones fear monger you, saying they accidentally reported your account and you need to do some stuff to prevent a ban, or something else that sounds dramatic. Tumblr staff would NOT message you in this manner. They usually email you, and verified tumblr staff will have a badge on their profile somewhere.

I got a very nasty one today, which is similar to the first one, but rather than a random person slipping into DMs it was an actual account, which I will not tag, that pretends to be an official account associated with tumblr, and mass tags people saying they are suspended from posting. Their message was structured with the same playful vibe that actual Tumblr posts use, and the link to the verification website looked the same as tumblr too. However, said website had a lot of ai imagery on it and asked for bank details, so that’s how you know it’s 100% a no-go.

All in all, I suggest applying these principles when using Tumblr:

Do not click links from untrusted sources and accounts.

NEVER enter your banking information UNLESS it is the official Tumblr Premium subscription page.

If the account looks fake, it probably is.

Tumblr support is extremely unlikely to message you within the app, DM you, comment on your posts, or mass tag you. You will usually receive an email from them instead.

If you get one of the phishing techniques that tell you your account is suspended in some way, do a quick little test. If you can do things just fine, then it’s a complete lie.

Do not trust random people in your comments, especially when they request to chat in DMs. Be wary of links if you do.

If you feel very unsafe, or want concrete proof that everything is okay, you can get in touch with the official support team.

I didn’t think Ruffian’s model made the pun obvious enough, so here is a random doodle that emphasises it a bit more

While doing research for OC ideas I found out about a flower called the Sapria Himalayana. Despite its parasitic nature and foul odor, I thought it looked quite pretty and would make a cute cup design. So I tried to make a little model of it, using its bowl shaped head for the cup and another plant called the tetrastigma for its stem (since that’s the plant the sapria and its family tend to feed off from.)
