Part of Forrester’s deal for living on the grounds was maintaining it. Whatever McGonagall told him to do, he did it. He clipped the grass, washed the lavatories… At the present moment, he was mopping the stone floors of the north corridor - a hall so long that the floor was already dry where he’d started, and he wasn’t even halfway done yet.
There was a trick, however, Forrester used to pass the time, and that was singing the Beatles’ album “Sergeant Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band”. He’d go one song at a time, singing through the lyrics, then hummed each instrument’s part until he was onto the next song. No one would ever care to sing along when passing by for any number of reasons. They could have somewhere to be, or not know the words, or not want to join in to some weirdo humming to himself in a lonely corridor. Still, there he swayed, dragging his mop in a figure eight across the length of the hall, muttering the words to “Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds”. That one was his mom’s favorite; in fact, she never failed to remind her son that, had he been a girl, his name would have been Lucy.

Godric was just coming in from visiting the magical creatures barn. He spent a good portion of his time there. Or you could say all of his time. He turn the corner to walk down the hallway when he heard a boy singing. He paused in his stride for a moment. He watched. This type of behavior wouldn’t be strange to anyone but Godric. He’d never sang a note in his life, nor did he dance. He preferred silence to anything.
As he watched, Godric became more curious. There were spells that would take care of this type of work. Or maybe this was a lesson or type of punishment from one of the other professors. He started off again towards the student. “What is it that you’re doing, boy?” He asked. His voice boomed through the hall.
