so, here’s the thing. i’m literally so riled up right now so i’m gonna try and explain my thoughts on this as coherently as possible because the sheer violence against women in this show, and the way it handles mental illness, is literally so disgusting i don’t even know if it’s possible for me to cover all of it in a damn thesis let alone a tumblr post

the murder of missandei is so fucked on so many levels and all of it comes down to constantly excusing violence against women because THAT WAS THE WHOLE STUPID POINT

not only is she one of the few if not the ONLY woc on the whole show – but they killed her off for the sole purpose of excusing further violence against women!!!! they turned her into a plot device to make the few surviving female leads, specifically queens, killable!!!!

they killed missandei so that daenerys will have an excuse to “go mad”. they killed her so that, at the end of all of this wreck, daenerys will go mad and then a male character she loves can murder a woman who has been tortured, abused, and raped, and it’ll feel righteous. it had to be done. she was crazy.

they had cersei kill missandei so that, when the time comes, a male character –  most likely the male character who raped her and the one she loves – can kill a woman who has been tortured, abused, and raped, and it’ll feel righteous. it had to be done. she was crazy.

they killed a soft, good, kind, female character of color to excuse the killing of two of the strongest female characters on the show because they were just so fucking crazy.

Why this episode makes no fucking sense

Sansa wasn’t being snarky when she said they should have waited to attack Kings Landing. She was being smart! What are these show writers doing? Why didn’t Dany listen to her? Dany is smart?? She should have stayed in Winterfell and sent ravens to Essos to call the Second Sons and the men she left there, while giving time for her men in Westeros to rest. Even Qyburn said it, her armies are battle weary and depleted! Daenerys left them in Essos for this reason did she not? Why did they let this happen, just for petty drama to ensue? Dany isn’t dumb, why are they making her choose bad choices? I’m done.
