Michael was in his home happily playing with Lux after he had put Sariel to sleep.

That was when the doorbell rang. He opened the door, expecting a normal visitor, only to stop when he saw Gabriel standing there completely soaked.

“…Gabriel?” Michael sighed, stepping aside and opening the door wider. “Come inside before you catch a cold. What happened to you?” With a snap of his fingers the fireplace in the lounge immediately blazed. “May I ask what happened?”

Gabriel immediately made his way to the fireplace, warming up his soaked wings. He brushed off some water droplets from his halo and looked at his older brother.

“Uh, just fell into a lake and then got caught in the rain talk about a rough day am I right?” He was slowly but surly drying off.”

Michael had to cover his mouth to hide himself snickering.

“Gabriel… my dear brother, how the hell do you fall into a lake? Did your wings stop working or something?” He is still laughing, even though he is tying to stop. “Sorry, I’m so sorry but I just can’t! This is absolutely hilarious.”

Even though Michael enjoyed teasing his brother he still didn’t want him to catch a cold. That why he took a wool blanket and placed it around Gabriel’s shoulders. “Maybe next time be more careful?”

Gabriel was just about to retaliate and say something to Michael but he felt the warm blanket around his shoulders. He sighed deeply leaning into the warmth.

“Thanks Michael…” he says and crosses his arms still mad.

“Though I do think this is not funny at all! I got soaked and the first thing you do is Laugh! That’s not something a great big brother would do! Am a right?” Gabriel looks at Michale with a somewhat angry expression.

Michael shook his head and sighed. “Sorry Gabriel I didn’t mean to laugh but seeing the messenger angel completely soaked it quite funny… but I apologize.”

He added some more logs to the fireplace and turned back to Gabriel. “Do you want some tea? I’m sure it would make you feel better.”

Michael didn’t even wait for an answer just called out. “Hey Emma! Sweetie! Look who is here!” He pointed at Gabriel and continued. “Could you make him some tea? And maybe while you’re at it make some for us too?”

Gabriel quickly hugged Emael. “Lady Emael it’s nice to see you again.” He said playfully and looked up at her white eyes.

“Michael is just pulling my leg, nothing serious. Brotherly teasing that’s all.” He quickly had a yellow rose appear in his hand, yellow symbolizing friendship. “Tea would sound lovely and here is a little something for you.”

Then he leans back and whispers to Michael. “You know how lucky you are you get to call her yours right?”

Michael had been pacing the empty meeting room for a while, approximately 25 minutes. It has been extremely nerve wracking and stressful for him to run heaven, while his father went into “retirement”, which Michael still couldn’t believe. How could the sooo powerful creator of the world just retire? He thought sometimes.

To he fair Sera had helped him in many ways. Specially in matters regarding winners and Michael would admit that she was pretty good at leading. She kept up appearances while he micromanaged heavens core and made sure everything was running smoothly, so the human souls could rest in peace.

Emily, on the other hand, had been doing amazing. she was certainly growing into the role of angel of joy, because of her every winner or angel was happy, thanks to her. She even helped to avoid a potential war. … and Michael was immensely proud of his daughter.

And now there were just a few minutes until a very important meeting started. Sera had suggested expanding heaven and creating more accommodation for the soon to be redeemed souls for heaven, which Michael agreed on. Nevertheless they still needed the approval of other angels to start a huge project like this.

As soon as the doors opened Michael straightened and found his place, but it was only Sera.

“Oh, Sera it’s just you,” He noticeably exhaled and went over to her. “Hello! How are you? Are you ready for today?”

He asked nervously.

Sera came into the meeting room and smiled warmly at Michael. She too was very nervous.

“Good afternoon, Michael. I hope you’re doing well.”

She walked towards the round table and sat in her spot next to Michael.

This wasn’t just any meeting. They were going to discuss the matter of expanding heaven, which sera had suggested to Michael earlier that week.

Heaven was already having more souls arrive and thanks to Charlie Morningstar’s Hazbin hotel many more would come. This is why it was necessary to expand Heaven and create more living spaces for these souls, in order to insure their happiness.

Sera’s view on redemption had changed thanks to the princess of hell and now she believed she should do anything to help her dream come true. That’s why she was trying so hard to make sure this project would start.

She glanced over at Michael and saw that he was fidgeting with the end of his cape.

“Nervous?” She asked in the same soft voice she used with his daughter Emily.

Michael smiled sheepishly. “Kinda… this is a HUGE deal! We have to make everyone agree.” His eyes darted to the wall.” I’m just worried that Raguel will be heard to convince…”

He knew that his sister was a very stubborn person and difficult to convince. She took after him with that trait.

Michael looked down at his phone and texted Emily.

Michael: Emily the meeting will start soon don’t call me.

Emily: don’t worry dad I’m with Abel I won’t .

Michael frowned at that a bit he didn’t like the idea of his daughter dating, but he couldn’t really stop her considering she was an adult.

He put his phone aside and straightened when angels started to come in. He saw Raguel, Gabriel, azraels empty chair and his other siblings.

When everyone was seated he stood at waited for everyone to settle down.

“Hello, everyone as I see that we are mostly present.” He glanced at azrael’s empty chair, “let the meeting begin.

Today we will be discussing the matter of expanding heaven for the new souls we await form hell.”

Sera continued speaking after Michael finished.

“Although, heaven is big there are more and more souls coming every single day, which will only continue to increase as the princess of hells hotel starts to redeem sinners.”

Her eyes scanned the room everyone was paying close attention to what she was saying. Even Michael gave her a reassuring smile.

“This is why, Michael and I have decided on expanding heaven and creating more space for souls to reside,” she continued “if we work together and use our creation powers, we’d finish in about two weeks.

I’m my opinion this is the least heaven can do for the redeemed sinners, after what we did to them.”

She said the last part more quietly, internally feeling guilty for sanctioning genocide. And now that she knows that redemption is possible she too wishes to redeem deals for the vile things she had done.

Michael saw that sera was getting nervous so he took over and stood. He looked around the room to make sure everyone was listening to what he had to say.

“As you can see, Sera presented us the problem and why it is necessary for us to expand heaven.”

He said this and clasped his hands together.

“And now I would like to her all of your ideas and opinions on this project, whether you agree or not.”

He sat down as everyone started whispering and talking.

Raguel’s hand was the first to rise. Michael internally thought she is either gonna say that this is genius or extremely stupid.

“Yes, Raguel?” He asked and motioned for her to start.

Raguel looked at Michael and sera as they both tensed when she stood.

Her light blue hair caught the light and she started talking.

“First of all, Sera you talk about how expanding heaven is the least we can do after what we did to the sinners.” She said calmly her one floating eye looked down on sera obviously judging.

“I don’t see how “we” did anything to them,” she continued, “as far as I’m concerned you two are the ones at fault. YOU Sera allowed for the exterminations to happen, and you—“ points at Michael. “You helped to create the exorcists.”

She said this and quieted for a moment to let her words sink in. After a few minutes she continued.

“You talk about expanding heaven as it were a simple decision. As if it were something to decide in an hour, but it’s not. Firstly, it would take a lot of angels to even manage this and I’m not even talking about how much angelic energy this would use up.

I agree that, due to more souls coming into heaven it’s necessary to expand, BUT rushing it right now is certainly not the way to do it.”

She sat back down and glanced towards Gabriel, who was sitting next to her.

Gabriel nervously twitched while fidgeting on his feather. After Raguel finished speaking he cleared his throat.

“In all fairness dear sister, we still have a problem to deal with. Even though most of us didn’t know about the exterminations we still have to deal with the effects it had on the balance of creation.” He said rather calmly, as he played with the ends of his long pale blond hair.

“Maybe expanding heaven isn’t a bad idea after all…. Plus the city is already packed! We need more space regardless!” He glanced at Michael who felt relived from his words. “As for sera and Michael, everyone makes mistakes and it isn’t always the best solution to blame people based on their past decisions.”

(Glaring at my group- ya nasties) He seemed like he was going to just pour them into his hand to share but had realization hit him that he could just offer the archangel the remaining peanuts in the can.

Lumina let out a cry of surprise as yet another Angel came crashing into her life. She'd been doing up her makeup for her stage performance in an hour, the shock sent her eyeliner squiggling across her face.

Immediately, she got up, peering down at the Angel sprawled on her floor with her head tilted.

"Are you alright?"

Got up dusted something off his robes.

“I’m really sorry, I didn’t mean to crush in I have a message for my brother….

…oh wait where are my manners! Gabriel Morningstar, a pleasure to make your acquaintance!”

He said in a cheery voice extending his hand.

“And you are?…”

Although Lumina had guessed as much, considering his long golden hair and cheery red cheek circles.

When she shook his hand, she was no longer as surprised by the electric buzz of angelic energy that came from their contact. After so many angel visits, it was no longer all that shocking.

"Lucifer is in the penthouse, one more floor up."

He searches his satchel and digs up a letter with a pretty seal.

“This is from him”

He smiled and handed it to her.

“I don’t usually deliver these kind of messages, I usually do the important stuff…. BUT since I was coming he asked if I could bring this to you.

He is very busy these days and he sent his regards.”

His gaze shifts to her eye.

“You need help with that? If so I can help , I’ve got experience form a certain angel of death.”

Lumina laughed, nearly glossing over the fact that he'd just called her 'unimportant'.

"Yeah, usually he sends one of your birds when he needs to send me a message!"

Because eons-old angels have yet to discover instant messenger.

Michael was a good friend, often visiting and being a good listener to her troubles, although their relationship had gotten somewhat strained when she leaned his role in the Exterminatons. Still, she made an effort to still talk to him and hear about his troubles, too, when he was ready to talk about them and she counted him among her angelic friends.

She'd busied herself tucking the letter into a spot on her vanity to read for later when Gabriel asked about her eye. For a moment she was confused before realising her eyeliner mistake must look like a gnarly bruise or something and she began wiping at it with the back of her hand.

"Oh! It's just makeup, see?"

Mostly because I haven't pissed ALASTOR off lately.

This is how it always seemed to go. An angel showed up in her life randomly for some reason, which was intimidating and scary at first. After all, they were the ones who decided she didn't deserve to see Heaven. Not only that, but they were all so pretty, in an inhumanly, intense, unattainable way, which made them impossible to look away from. It always made Lumina's sinner heart want to stop, leaving her frozen in place until...

Until they turned out to be massive dorks.

Before leaving, she gave her husband a quick caress on the back, as a way to cheer him up. She noticed he was trying his best.

Lilith would soon prepare the Earl Grey tea and chocolate chip cookies for the two angels. But she was still letting the two of them talk for a bit before going back inside the room.

“So… I … um… how’s it been?”

He lowers his head like he was VERY interested in the feather he was holding. His long blond hair covered the side of this face, his halo dimmed and his wings drooped.

How's it been... Lucifer wants, oh how he wants, to hit Gabriel with brutal honesty. Centuries, eons worth of anger and resentment reaching out from the corners of his mind like thick tendrils. There's plenty of guilt, shame, but this he doesn't show except in moments of exceptional weakness. And the Prince of Pride is, naturally, far too prideful to admit an ounce of fault to anyone from Heaven.

Though his gaze widens at the declaration of being missed. Perhaps his expression softens ever so little.

"You're making it so hard to stay angry at you, you know that? It kind of pisses me off..." A sigh. "Alright, Gabe... we can talk. We're supposed to be negotiating with Heaven these days anyway. You all aren't a threat to our kingdom anymore."
