@first-sinner-of-hell @broadcasting-screams-since-33 Part 3.2: Impasse
It's the evening of the same day after Alastor's "apology", as Lilith Morningstar gets a call. Vincent knows who's really in charge, so he doesn't waste his time on calling up anyone else in the family.
"Mrs. Morningstar?" he asks in a perfectly smooth voice, while wincing and putting pain relief cream on all the diabolically colored bruises in himself. "It's Vincent Whittman. Your employee came to me today. I take it, on your insistance. We talked and sorted things out.
I appreciate your concern and apology, but, really, it was just a harmless prank. I just want to assure you that everything is okay. I am also sorry that the incident in the club dampened your daughter's party."
During the whole time, Lilith had no clue about where Alastor had been all day. Since his broadcasts were nightly, Lilith had not worried too much.
After all, it's not like they all lived in the company like it was an hotel.
So, as of now, Lilith had not seen Alastor's wounds and did not know what had just happened in VoxTech.
Upon seeing the unknown number, Lilith's heart dropped. Had the debtors somehow managed to see that infamous duck post and came to collect their money before Morningstar's Pride truly broke?
Or was it a lawyer calling to notify her about the sue VoxTech has just made against them?
Oh, crap...
Well, she could not let the phone ring forever, right?
... Right?
... Alright, no, she would just be delaying the inevitable. She ended up picking up the phone.
"Lilith Morningstar, president of Morningstar's Pride. With whom I may be speaking to?"
Her heart did a few backflips as she learned that not only she was talking with the Vincent Whittman, but also Alastor had gone there personally AND he had convince him to not sue them.
"Phew... You don't know how glad I am to hear that, Mr. Whittman." 'Seriously, you don't know.' She thought for herself. "Our companies are supposed to be rivals, not enemies."
Lilith asked for a moment. "Is there something else I could do for you?"
"I don't believe so, no," Vincent smiles at himself in the mirror.
"But I believe that I could do something for you. As you said, we are supposed to be rivals, not enemies. It's twenty first century, after all. And since your husband accidentally let your financial status out in the open - thoughts and prayers, by the way, - and since I've been watching all Charlie's attempts to attract the new audience to your media, I've been thinking.
It would be simply in bad taste to watch a family company, that has been around twice my age, drown in all the turmoil.
Which is why I have a suggestion.
We should collaborate on a conjoined project together."
Lilith was thankful her face was not being shown on her phone, because her wide eyed expression would have brought out a chuckle out of Vincent for sure.
"A-A project?" She repeated, dumbfounded. "Excuse me for a moment while I look at my exchedule."
She put the phone on mute and cheered out loudly "YES. FINALLY. YES."
Then she put the phone on speaker mode once more. "Well, I believe I can make some adjustments for your sake. What did you have in mind?"
Lucifer walks into the room with many many notes and papers and a projector. "No we're not going to have sex... Put your clothes back on. I have prepared a slideshow on the intricate details on how to make the perfect, fluffy, thick, delightful pancakes"

*CHOKES ON HIS OWN WORDS UNDER THAT GLANCE* But Allie, darling, the resemblance is kind of... there. A bit? At least in wording? You cannot argue with that.
*wisely doesn't remind Radio Demon of the red deer photo that is hidden deep in the memory of his phone*
[You and I, we can become one sound - Rebel!Lilith AU Oneshot]
(Based on Rebel Lilith AU or 'What if Lilith was not in a relationship with Lucifer before they both fell to Hell?')
It was today.
Lilith grasped tightly her microphone as she prepared to go on stage. It was a bright golden microphone, or at least it appeared so. The fake-golden colour shined brightly in the dim lights of the stage.
Well, she called it a stage. The reality was actually a bunch of wooden pallets stacked on top of each other with two lanterns on the side acting as the stage lights.
Her microphone, of course, was not connected to anything. Alleyways had no electricity plugs, after all. But it was alright, as it was only for the performance.
The stage would have put any singer worth their time to shame. But Lilith had to hide her identity, as the rebellion was a secret for Heaven. But it was okay. Her voice was more than enough for the sinners that were curious enough to listen in.
And tonight, it had to be perfect.
Because tonight, somehow, she had convinced Lucifer to come to see one of her concerts up close.
The archangel hated every sinner with viscerality, but somehow had a soft spot for her. And while he didn't mix with the crowd, most of the times he waited until the party was over to appear besides Lilith and congratulate her.
Because, even though Lilith acted as if she hated every angel and publicly shamed Lucifer's image for being a completely passive King who only sat on the throne and made ducks, the truth was... Lilith was hopelessly in love with him. And Lucifer had made very clear her feelings were returned in full.
Yet it was precisely that love that was their greatest weakness.
Because if the seraphims in charge found out the biggest rebel in Hell was romantically tied to the golden dreamer archangel, they would certainly kill her on sight, and only God knew what they would do to him.
Lucifer was heavily scared of that. So much that he had been willing to trump Lilith's concerts every once in a while.
In fact, it had been during an intense discussion right after Lucifer just sabotaged her latest stage when she had convinced him to come.
Well, you know what they say: There is nothing a passionate kiss can't fix ~.
So, Lucifer was in the audience. Lucifer was finally going to listen to her song.
Lilith could feel her own heart doing dances inside her chest.
She was going to make this the best concert Hell ever had.
And now... It was showtime~.
Goodbye, I'll release you from these cold shackles.
Your body and soul, bruised and broken.
Your freedom was taken away so you couldn't fly, sing!
Lucifer stared wide eyed at the godness on the stage. Had Lilith gone mad?! Why was she singing about him in public?! He fixed up his hoodie with reflex, scared that someone actually might recognize him.
There's no ignoring it now.
Hope buried under fear and rusted.
Long gone dreams, bring them back. Face it head-on.
Raise your glasses!
An imp had started to pass around small shots, walking with the tray above his head so that the much taller sinners would see him. As he passed by Lucifer's side, he stared a bit, narrowing his eyes, there was something familiar but he couldn't pinpoint what...
Lucifer took the shot and shoo him away, just in case.
Hey, let’s drink it!
I don’t wanna go back.
Everybody listen!
Seriously, what the heck was Lilith doing? Was this a revolution meeting or a party? Was she planning to get everyone drunk so that they would think joining was a good idea?!
But at Lilith's command, every sinner in the venue raised their glasses and took the shot as if they were one soul.
And, well, a free drink was a free drink.
But as he took the shot, Lucifer got a revelation.
This drink had almost no alcohol!! In fact, you would get drunk faster by drinking mouthwash!
Then, why was everyone drinking and enjoying themselves so much?
Right... It was not because she had control over the sinner's souls, but because Lilith's song was uniting them.
Get up, don't fall down. Sing this song louder.
You and I, we can become one sound.
Trust me, don't run away. A new era will open its doors.
We can't go back, so get up, get up.
Bottoms up!
As Lilith sang, her eyes drifted around the audience. Her gaze brightened like a star when her eyes found his.
'You and I can become one sound'. It felt like she was saying it just for him and him alone.
For a small second, it felt like there was no one else in the room. Only Lucifer, Lilith, and her song.
You might say I’m a bone, I’m a sinner, I’m a broken devil.
A ghost, a shadow destroying this heaven, you can make a silver bullet, but you can’t stop me.
'Cause I’ve got nothing to lose!
But, right, this was still a revolutionary concert. Her lyrics reminded Lucifer she was still putting herself at risk for everyone. Even for those sinners that were not present tonight. Even for those that did not even know about the concert.
Lucifer vowed at that moment to protect her, forever.
Lilith was willing to sacrifice herself to save Hell, Lucifer was willing to sacrifice Hell to save her.
Show me your scars that got deeper after the pain subsided, my friend.
Now, let's make a toast to you and me
Let’s get drunk and party!
The sinners thought that the scars Lilith mentioned were the scars after the exterminations. Every sinner had been scarred by the exterminations, some physically, but every single one mentally.
And yet, Lucifer felt like Lilith was referring to himself.
Lilith wanted Lucifer to show his scars after The Fall, to finally act upon them and defy angels in their own game.
Get up, don't fall down. Sing this song louder.
You and I, we can become one sound.
Lilith's message was clear now. Together, we can win. We can finally make a Hell worth living for.
Trust me, don't run away. A new era will open its doors.
We can't go back, so get up, get up!
Lucifer found himself raising another glass. For the first time in his eternal life, he was joining the sinners and acting together with them.
Even if it was just for the party... It felt like a step forward.
Bottoms up!
Here’s to us! Hey, raise your glass. Let’s get drunk and party~!
Bad Day: Aftermath @broadcasting-screams-since-33 @first-sinner-of-hell
[part 2 of this rp]
Vox drags all three of them to the Hotel, refusing to let go even for a second; Alastor, Lilith and Charlie have no say in the matter, but they probably all are too exhausted as well.
It's a choice, of course, because as soon as Vagie sees the state of them all, she puts her spear at Vox's throat.
"What have you done?!" she growls.
Charlie, who the entire way to the Hotel was trying to free herself and run back to Lucifer, pushes her spear away and clings onto Vaggi, sobbing.
"Dad," she manages to say, "He changed! Something happened! Uncle Michael is trying to calm him down, but... Fuck, I should be there now!"
Vaggi, who understands now, why exactly Vox was holding Charlie, hugs her and holds her close.
"Changed how?" she carefully asks.
"I don't know how safe we are here," Vox breathes out. "He is out of control. Went... went ballistic on us, almost wiped us out with angelic powers - the Might of Lilith stuff, but more concentrated. Almost..." his grip on Alastor tightens, "Double-killed all of us. If not for Michael, we'd all end up dead. I should..."
He carefully sits Lilith on the nearest couch.
"I should probably call up Michael's siblings. Together they should find a way to hold him down... safely."
He doesn't even attempt to let go of Alastor.
"You have Michael's siblings numbers?" Vaggi asks in disbelief.
"Long story," Vox says, and starts typing with one free hand.
During the retreat back at the Hotel, Lilith had been thinking heavily on what had happened.
How Lucifer had transformed right into her very eyes. How he didn't even heard Charlie or herself, or how he twisted their words to hurt himself emotionally even more. How Michael had been left behind, and they were very probably fighting to the death right now.
What if they actually hurt each other so much one of them ends up dead by accident? What would Charlie do if her father died? How could Lilith live after such a thing happened? And what if Lucifer ended up killing Michael? Lucifer would never be able to forgive himself. It's possible he would never be the same again.
... Michael was giving it his all. It had been thanks to his barrier that the four of them were alive right now.
"...Mom?"
Lilith had not been able to sing to stop Lucifer.
"Mom?"
She doubted she could right now.
"Mom!" Charlie screamed right into her face.
"Oh!" Lilith blinked awake, she had been so out of it she had barely registered she was on the couch inside the lobby. "Yes, dear? Sorry, I wasn't listening. Oh, we have arrived at the Hotel already?"
Charlie looked at her mom with heavy worry. "Mom, we have been here for like half an hour already..."
"Oh, really?" Lilith let out a small fake laugh. She saw Vox typing away at his phone while still holding Alastor with the other. "What is he doing?"
Charlie looked hopeful, for once. "Oh! He is asking my uncles for help! Dad is strong, but even he can't beat all of his brothers and sisters at once!"
Lilith frowned heavily and stood up. "I think I'm going to go have some air." Charlie tried to stop her, but with her mom looking like that, how could she?
Lilith went as far as the Razzle golden statue at the front of the Hotel and looked at the sky, hoping to see a trace of Lucifer and Michael's fight on it. She let out a sigh. A part of her still hated angels viscerally. A part of her ego could not accept she had been useless in a fight archangels would win effortlessly.
.....
And a part of herself could not forget the way her heart had skipped a beat the first moment she had seen that demonic form of Lucifer, before he had started hurting all of her friends and family.
"What is wrong with me...?" She asked to the air. "I know I love him, but to feel like this when Lucifer is hurting so much... It's wrong."
To anyone else, it would look like she was talking to the Razzle statue and waiting for him to answer back.
Alastor was in the worst pain of his afterlife, and only clung to consciousness because he felt enough of Vox's emotions through their frequencies to distract him.
His mind felt fragmented and foggy, but he decided he would heal, not matter how long it would take.
Glimpses of the event messily came back to him: Charlie safe, Lilith safe, Vox... right here.
Lilith who couldn't sing.
"V...ox..." Shit, even his voice is ruined.
He clumsily handles the man his precious staff. "To... Lilith...so she may... sing..."
Talking is exhausting. So, as soon as his duty is done, Alastor decides it is high time to take a break, and rest against Vox to rest.
Vox wants to say something, but his own voice fails him when he hears Alastor so broken. He only holds Alastor closer and tries to go with him outside, since he finished notifying both angels he knows could help Michael.
That's when it happens.
There is no sound. Nothing.
Just blinding light.
And half of the hotel on the left to them is just... gone. Erased. There is no ruins. Nothing. Just burnt ground.
Vox slowly looks outside. He sees Lilith at the Razzle's statue. He walks to her, carrying Alastor and his staff.
He hands it to her.
"Alastor said it's for you to sing," he says.
He doesn't look to his left. He ignores the screams behind - Charlie is much quicker to react to the change in the Hotel.
"But if I were you, I'd take Charlie and take her and Vaggi to any other Ring. Until it's over. No matter how it is over."
He pauses.
"If you go, you should also take Al. He travelled through the Rings with you, I know. He's not just a regular Sinner. He knows how to lay low, how to pretend. Please? Can you do that for me? I need him safe. And I need to find Vel... somehow... before Lucifer levels the city. Maybe we'll join you on the Rings, if we are lucky."
Good thing Val got redeemed, he thinks. At least he is safe.
Lilith had barely spent a few minutes outside. Her narrowed eyes were inspecting the sky, wishing to see just a glance of the twins' fight. She needed to know they were both alright. Fighting meant that they were both alive, somehow.
And then, it happened.
The statue took a hit and tilted a little to the side, as if Razzle was protecting her with his golden wings when nobody else could.
Lilith almost fell to the ground when she raised her head to see what had happened.
Suddenly, it was gone.
Charlie's dream.
The Hazbin Hotel.
Half of it was just gone.
If the shock of the fight had taken her singing voice away, in these moments she had truly become mute.
The only living sound she made in the aftermath was a deep sigh of relief as she heard Charlie's voice coming out of the good part of the Hotel.
Someone was speaking to her.
Vox was saying something. He was extending Alastor's staff to her, clearly intending to have her hold it. Lilith picked it up mechanically, but what did he want her to do? To sing? No, that wouldn't work. Lucifer would not listen to her, nor anyone else anymore.
"Take everyone...away..." She repeated, as if she was trying to find meaning through those words herself.
Lilith looked at Alastor. He had taken the worst hit out of all of them. He was laying against Vox's shoulders, barely awake. Lilith didn't know if he had been able to listen to their conversation just now.
She looked at the spot where the right side of the Hotel once was. The apple suite that had served as the couple's bedroom for the past months was gone. All of Lucifer's rubber ducks, too.
...
No, this was not the time for laments.
Lilith Morningstar would have time to cry when this was all over.
This was the time to take hold and to give hope as The Queen of Hell.
"Charlotte. Gather every survivor and make them come here. Do not grab anything else. Everyone who is not able to make it in five minutes will be left behind."
It was quite a harsh decision. But not time for laments.
Charlie understood the heavyness of the situation and gathered everyone without raising any complains. Luckily, somehow, all her friends and pets had been spared. Divine grace from God? Who knew at this point, honestly.
Meanwhile, she carefully picked up Alastor and passed one of his arms over her shoulders, using one hand to steady him by the waist while the other held his staff.
She started to sing.
A portal to another ring opened right away. To anyone who had knowledge of other rings, they would quickly discover that she had opened a portal to the middle of the Wrath Ring.
Satan would be angry, for sure. But she would talk to him. He would understand.
When everyone had passed through the portal, Lilith looked back to Vox one more time. "Go. Be here at two hours from now on. I will open the portal then."
The real message was clear. If he was not here by then, she would assume he (and everyone else he had wanted to save) was dead.
The Queen of Hell closed the portal behind her as she passed through it, her gaze undecipherable to the very end.
Alastor hates himself for lacking strength. He tries magic, but he can barely remember spells right now.
Don't Don't Don't
That fucking queen is leaving Vox behind!
"Ba... ck..."
He's a demon. THE Radio Demon. Even half dead and mangled, he can do whatever he wants, pain be damned!
So he tries to stand, and manages to conjure weak shadow tendrils to mostly keep him upright like a broken puppet. He probably looks scarier than ever, like a cursed toy come to life. A possessed corpse.
"Li... ith!" He successfully infuses some annoyance in this irrate call. "Vox."
His throat gives up momentarily, so he tries reaching out to the man through their shared frequency.
Come back this instant!
Niffty is here. Charlie. Lilith. Mimzy will make it, she's like cockroaches. Rosie is powerful enough to flee.
Come back. NOW.
His shadows give up as his whole body starts shaking from shock. The pain is quite something indeed.
Come back Come back Come ba
Niffty hugs him, which hurts. "Oh, Alastor, I don't know if Baxter made it..."
He blinks. One eye, and then the other. "He'll make it," he croaks. "Probably excited... to see an apocalypse!"
He pats her once. "Husk?"
"Panicking about Angel Dust!"
Shit. And Alastor has no booze to help him cope.
"I need... healing. Whatever way. To fetch 'em."
Mimzy. Rosie.
Vox.
Maybe Baxter and Angel but really, not a priority.
"Fuck Lucifer."
Stupid, depressed loser.
"Hope he dies." He closes his eyes. "Always moping."
Vox. Hear me? I demand you come back. Come back. Come here. Here.
Niffty curls in a ball next to Alastor, because if he doesn't have the resilience to rise, who has?
Wait. Niffty does. "Healing!" She jumps up. "Healing, I will find that, wait for me, Al!"
Part of the electricity is fucked, so he has to zap from one visible place to another one from time to time.
And he's nowhere near the level of powers he used to have before the Incident. He cannot travel the distances he could earlier without taking breaks.
He knows he has to make breaks. He had to even when he was in full power.
Alastor taught it to him in his usual cruel manner when they were enemies; they fought within an enclosed area, and Alastor kept attacking him with shadows, and he kept zapping and dodging, so reckless and confident in his ability to do this dance without consequences, to show off; that was until he went completely exhausted, unable to teleport, and Alastor beat him up thoroughly, mocking him all the way until Vox's legs gave out and he just fell.
When he really thinks about it now, there was more mockery than damage. No limbs were torn off. More hits then wounds, as well.
Alastor really had a soft spot for him all this time, didn't he?
He tries not to think about Alastor, because he glitches immediately. It's irrational, but Vox wants him close, next to him, right there. He wants to be able to shield him. To protect him. To know for sure he's alright.
But Vox wouldn't be able to shield Alastor under the stream of angelic energy. He had no choice. Other Ring is the best option now. No one knows how the fight with Michael turns out.
He tries not to think about that either. Not to think about how Hotel went destroyed within seconds. He repaired all the damages in the Entertainment District that were caused by the canon, but he never really thought about how it felt.
And that was just a beam. Not a wave. Not a silent flash of light that reduced everything to atoms.
He calls Ethan during his five minute breaks, trying not to think that every second one of them might get erased. Connection doesn't work on every spot, either.
"Mr. Vox? What's going on? We saw the... flash, and..."
"Lucifer went ballistic. Gather ten top performers in every department. Get Melissa and Travis. Shock.wav. And Angel fucking Dust, since his brand is still on point. I want you on the ruins of the Hotel as fast as possible, let's hope it doesn't get hit with angelic beam twice. Lilith will collect us from there. Tell everyone else to get to the underground floors, preferably - to get locked down from the inside in the basement, it's plated by angelic steel. It's the best protection they can get. Let them stay there for the next 24 hours, we will contact and come back for them once the air with fucking Satan is clear. Tell them not to bother with bringing tech or provisions, there are provisions in the basement, instruct someone on how to get them after the threshold of the first six hours runs out.
Tell Melissa to contact Velvette in any way possible, tell her to get the fuck out to another Ring - I know her rituals allow that - and if you succeed, let me know, because I'll be looking for her in the meantime. We have less than an hour to complete all of that. Less than an hour, you hear me? Afterwards Lilith will not wait."
Always better to set a minimum threshold than have your people die on you. This way they'll have half an hour spare.
"Got it, sir," Vox can almost see him nod on the other side of the phone.
That's why Ethan is invaluable. Never argues. Always knows when emergency IS emergency.
"Pleasebecareful," Ethan breathes out, before Vox hangs the phone.
Right. He has yet to reach Carmine's territory.
They probably won't let him in, but they will at least hear him out.
The goal is for Vel to be safe, not for them to hold hands and sing the song of friendship, after all. He needs her safe. He will never forgive himself otherwise.
And then Vox will need to get back to the hotel. He needs to.
He didn't even tell Alastor goodbye. He cannot die on him.
She looked over at Alastor, her hold on him tightening so that he would not be able to stumble out outside of the portal.
"Niffty, no! Wait!" Cried out Charlie as the little bug maid jumped out and ran away as quickly as her little legs allowed her to. The portal practically closed behind her. "Mom, open the portal again! We have to follow her!"
The Queen of Hell simply took Alastor inside to the nearest place he could sit down. "Rest here."
"Mom! We can't let Niffty there!"
"Then she better come back before the next two hours passes." The Queen of Hell said sternly.
Charlie was about to retort once again, but then another voice joined the crowd.
"Lilith Morningstar. Would you explain already what are so many sinners doing in my domains?"
She looked up (and up, and up again) and answered back. "Hello, Satan." She said as calm as possible. "There is a problem with Lucifer. We need a refuge for the time being."

I did! It was a show for Char Char. I was just being the greatest dad in hell, and teach her how to cook. Even if he’s not tiny, I can lift him up to the sky and drop him- ehem ehem who said that?
Y-yeah of course what else can it be? I’m not an egomaniac, power hungry, opportunistic, manipulative, cannibal!… after all. But I can still teach him how to fly like my father did to Michael. Drop him off from the sky. I’m a nice friend aren’t I my flower
I’m trying my best to be passive for my queen. But be my guest, try and play with my patience bambi. But this time I won’t listen to anyone including your queen
…this is Charlie’s hotel, that I bui- never mind. But he’s calling US passive. Too passive that we won’t be able to do anything. Are you gonna take that as a queen huh? At least let me send him to Asmodeus.
"No, darling. Darling, no. I know you are angry, but sending an ace man to the Lust Ring, even if you only wish for Asmodeus to fight him, he will take it the wrong way and actually hate you for real. Darling, no.
Gosh, can't you all learn to be in the same room without being at each other's throats?"
"You are telling me all those times you joked with killing him were actually real threats?!"
Gasp. Who could have seen it coming.
"Alright, then..." Lilith lets out a deep sigh.
"Darling, come here. You are going to say sorry for calling him derogatory names towards his job (as in, 'bellhop') and putting that plaque on the door."
She signals at Alastor. "And you are going to say sorry for every not-so-prank you have done in return!"
