Actually... they were TOTALLY going for nuclear winter.

They just messed it up with bad sound effects, bad red lightning, and bad music. They should've put hem somewhere cold to kinda sell the vibe, I think. Them needing to dress warm would've been a cool departure from the typical flannel. Also AW Bobby hating Minnesota would make more sense cause it's even colder there now.

One of the funniest things that Lucifer ever did in Supernatural was appear to Sam as Jess only to then say to him minutes later "I will never trick you. I will never lie to you." I guess his logic is "Starting now, I will never trick you or lie to you."

fans are so attached to dean using ‘nesting’ in relation to settling into the bunker but the vital factor that is avoided in this attachment is the liminality of the bunker itself. it implicates an inability to detach from hunting as it becomes the very space they return to. the MOL spent time at the bunker but returned to their homes dictating a work/life balance that dean is purposefully erasing with staying in the bunker full time (outside travelling to hunts) dean has multitudes of opportunities to consider the idea of a permanent home and the reason the bunker appeals is because it Becomes an existing space Meant for hunting that also provides amenities.
