impstation's fun! The combination of being an unlisted server, only having the github for a site, and the rumors players like to spread, I can only imagine the reputation its got on reddit.
Impstation's considered MRP (medium roleplay), but those labels arent that helpful to me. There's an emphasis on roleplay, and "gamer terms" are forbidden, but its still alot more chaotic than some of the other roleplay-focused servers. The philosophy here is that toys (game events) and dolls (character interactions) both benefit the other, and neither should be ignored for the other.
It's also run by the streamer mirakurutaimu, and follows the kind of humor the RTVS group has, though its not required to watch or know them or anything.
As for my experiences specifically, it's by far my favorite server to play. There's enough people to get big rounds going consistently at some points of the day, but i'm mostly on during lower or midpop hours. you see alot of familiar faces, which i think makes it easier to get your character involved. It is absolutely a play to lose type of server, teaching newbies is always encouraged and people give a ton of leeway to antags because dying is fun. i would consider it to be the least "robust" playerbase of any server i've seen.
I'm not trying to plug but since you DID ask me... I've made a few cut videos of some rounds on my youtube! The "JedJed, Teddy, and The Revolution" is my favorite I think, but all the ones except for "Tep'itar the hostage" are from Impstation, so those are a good way to see directly what its like for me!
