An Abandoned Chinese Village Is Now Gorgeously Overgrown With Ivy
French based artist duo Ella & Pitr, first featured on our Tumblr, create largescale aerial murals of children’s book-inspired characters. Unless you have a birds eye view, it’s difficult to appreciate the scope of the majority of their works, which can be found on rooftops, airplane runways, and even huge grassy fields. Their latest mural is not only their largest, it is also the largest outdoor mural in the world to date at 226,040 square feet.

Shipwrecks are now visible from beneath Lake Michigan after sheets of ice that built up over America’s Great Lakes during winter finally cleared, leaving the water unusually clear.
The U.S. Coast Guard Air Station in Traverse City, Michigan, found the shipwrecks, some identified from the 19th and 20th centuries, beneath the usually crystal clear water. The photos were taken near Sleeping Bear Point, on the Lake Michigan’s northeast shoreline, about 30 miles northwest of Traverse City.

Together known is KeFe, Kelly Tunstall and Ferris Plock are getting ready to debut their third solo show at Fecal Face in San Francisco tonight. Titled “Inside Voices,” the exhibition features playful, colorful collaborative paintings. The artists culled inspiration for these works from their experiences with parenting two young boys. The term “inside voice” is often used to quiet children, which can, in effect, stifle their self-expression when it’s inconvenient to adults. KeFe reclaimed this term and made it a more liberating one, describing their conception of an “inside voice” as the inner voice that guides one’s creativity. By following this internal teacher, they created work that brims with a childlike sense of curiosity.
