“Yeah, it’s…definitely been cold.” Before, she would have loved it. Winter, the snow, drinking hot chocolate, bundling up with scarves and mittens - her dad had loved it to. They used to make snowmen together and build forts, especially when she was a child. Her parents even tried taking her skiing last year, except that had gone horribly and ended with a few bruises. But god, was it ever fun. And now her father would never see the snow again and she no longer looked at it with a smile. Clearing her throat slightly she brought her head back up. “Tea, yeah - tea would be nice. Much better than alcohol.”
Winter had always been Amos’ favorite season. The castle had always seemed warm and the snow was just simply put beautiful. But something this year had changed the season for him. Maybe it was that they had all been forced to stay during the break or that everyone was grieving in their own ways, either way Winter no longer seemed as good as it had before. He was sure Mary was feeling that way about it even more than he was. “Certainly warmer,” he gave a small smile, leaving the whiskey where it was on the table, slowly standing. He held out his hand for Mary, realizing too late she might not want to take it, but he left it in front of her anyway. “Plus its always nice to visit with the house elves.”
