Hello!! I'm Rowan. I'm 20 years old, use he/him pronouns and I've been writing for around 12 years.

This is my first RP blog (and likely my only one), I'm using this partially to try and narrow down the headspace I'll be using for a modern AU Jayce Talis in future fanfictions of mine. Feel free to ask, comment, or repost with questions! I'll do my best to respond to them in character.

This is a Modern AU Jayce Talis who is still currently studying for his engineering degree at Piltover University. He currently shares a dorm-room with Viktor. The two are (kind of) dating, but both of them are too hesitant to ever admit it outright.

Thinking about taking more jogs around campus while the weather's still warm outside. It's not that cold out yet, but I never really liked going anywhere when it's chilly. Especially not if it's snowing.

Also need to start making Christmas lists for the holidays. I know what I'm getting my mom, but Viktor's more tricky.

Heimerdinger gave me a call recently. He was sort of vague over the phone about what he wanted, but eventually he told me he's looking for a teacher's aid when the new semester rolls around.

While I'm interested - I used to tutor Caitlyn pretty often when I was younger - I'm worried it'll be another thing on top of others to juggle.

Good news! Viktor will be able to make most of next year's semester, as long as he doesn't keep declining.

I've been trying to reach out to Mel in order to get our insurances up to date and see if we can run a few tests to see what's causing it all, but I've had less than stellar luck so far. If anyone has any remedies for sore-throats or persistent, wet coughs, please send out advice.

Sorry for the long absence from the site. Viktor has been struggling with his health recently, and I decided it was better to step away and focus most of my efforts on helping him.

We're still not sure what's causing the decline, but we're both afraid he might miss next year's semester. I'll try to keep you all updated.

Hello again! Exams have been swamping me lately. Viktor's kind of concerned that I'm studying in favor of sleeping (like he's not doing the same thing), but I want to pass with flying colors this year.

Haven't had time to shave properly lately. Brought it up a few hours ago, but Viktor said it made me look 'rugged.'

...Tempted to keep the beard this time around.

Sorry for the late response. Lectures and projects have been taking more out of me than I thought they would.

I think I may drink too much coffee. I know Viktor drinks almost as much as I do, but I just watched him take the pot off the machine and sip it like the thing was a cup. He then offered it to me as if I'd do the same thing.

I did, but that's not the point. Maybe we need to lessen the caffeine intake. Kind of worried for our mutual heart-health.

I've been thinking about taking a short break from blueprints and projects to visit my mom. I haven't seen her in a good while, and while phone-calls and video-calls are good supplements, I do miss her. She also won't stop talking about wanting to see Viktor every time I phone her. Think she might like him more than I do, and that's a very hard feat.

Been trying to catch up on sleep lately. Caitlyn's worried about a 'sleep debt', at this rate, but I'm less bothered than she is. We've been making some good breakthroughs with the prototype and I'm not eager to stop now.

Viktor's been sort of the same. He's still smoking, but it's less when he has something to keep him occupied. Think we've gone through two separate, full pots of coffee in a single afternoon.

We've finally had a break-through on our prototype for an air-filter! We've settled on a more compact design than what I was originally intending. The downside is it doesn't work as efficiently as I'd hoped, but it can be installed in a window like a regular AC unit. I hope that makes it more convenient, if we ever manage to convince Cassandra to put it on the market.

Me and Viktor went out for drinks to celebrate. I tried the thing he usually orders every time we go out - a bourbon milk punch, he said? - but I didn't really like it. Ordered myself a sweet whisky lemonade instead.

Viktor's picked up smoking again.

I'm not *mad* at him, but I'm not really happy, either. He managed to kick the habit for a few months but the stress from the Academy dug it out, I guess.

I do kind of like the look of him with a cigarette, though. Suppose that's a benefit.

The blueprints are done!

Viktor's pleased (if slightly annoyed that I didn't ask for his help from the get-go). He says we probably have some old parts we can use for a prototype laying around in a storage unit somewhere. How he has one, I have no idea, but it'll come in handy.

I'll update soon with how it goes.

I've been trying to work in the forge more often than not (it's a good way to get out of my own head), but I can't stop thinking about the denied proposal from Cassandra. It's starting to bother me.

Think I'll take a break from forging today and try and focus on sketching out blueprints. Once I have the basics done, I'm dragging Viktor in on it - Janna knows I'll need the help.

The conversation with Cassandra did NOT go well. Caitlyn took me to breakfast this morning, and when I dropped the news on her, she almost sided with her mom.

I love her, I do. But all this attitude around one project I'm making for others' benefit is starting to get frustrating, and all because it's aimed at Zaun's air-conditions rather than Piltover's. Half-convinced to just pick up extra shifts at my night-job and fund the prototype myself.

I think Viktor would be thrilled at the blueprints I've already got done, but I want to save it for a surprise until I have a solid base. It's been too long since we've been able to make something proper together.

Been looking for blueprint papers for the last hour. Think I'm finally realizing why Viktor keeps telling me to tidy up our study-room (not that his side is any more organized than mine).

Been thinking about starting a new project recently. Viktor told me about the air quality back in his home-city, and it might be kind of out of my realm right now, but the knowledge doesn't sit right. I don't have the supplies for an air-filter on hand, but I'm sure I can ask Cassandra for more of an allowance to pick up parts for a prototype.

Now, how I'll spin it into something Cassandra thinks is useful, well... that's a matter I'll tackle when I get there.
