our small twitter circle was talking about the barrier thing a few days ago and we came to the conclusion that either frisk was actively hiding from their friends the whole time out of shame and guilt or, after being taken to the Flowey Void, were unable to actually return to the Underground and were left in the space between, the Barrier Void where no one could really reach them, considering Sans, who knows where they are ALWAYS, had to use a Phone to reach them at all
This makes good sense. And is really sad. But makes good sense.
