I probably shoulda said I can come on Wednesday NIGHTS cuz I donât have work on Thursday.
Turns out, though, things be slow here and Iâm tired from work and class today. Week one is almost over, so once June 10th is done, I will definitely be more active.
Damn you, two hour long Sadistics class. Damn you to hell and back.
@agriosanemos
âOh, Iâm sorry. Have we met?â
Once again, part of Izumi demanded that she stop terrorizing this girl, but another part demanded that she end her for speaking such slander, such lies. Like love had anything to do with it. If they did get married, it would be for one purpose and one purpose only: breeding. Everyone knew that sentiment was extremely one-sided, and it wasnât Yukimura-sanâs first choice.
Siblings⌠Kazuki? So there is more than one? Sickening.
To directly insult Izumi whilst in this position was a dangerous choice, one that would usually sign a death certificate. As she monologued on, the kunoichi felt her will slipping away, slowly, but surely. Yet parts of her still screamed and demanded that she break this girlâs arms and legs multiple times, break her spine, break her neck, just to have her stop talking.
She couldnât bear to hear this.
âStop⌠please⌠stopâŚâ Izumi pleaded, her form reverting back to human. Her eyes no longer held the icy glare, but instead, something like melted snow, as the warmth of the tears that threatened to fall could not be mistaken. âI never⌠want to see Yukimura-san⌠fall into his clutchesâŚâ she sighed, her stolen katana falling by her feet. âHe does not love her⌠she does not love him⌠you are lying,â she said, trying to convince herself more than the other. âYukimura-san⌠does not deserve any of this⌠any of us. She should be⌠in Edo⌠living freely and happily⌠the problems of the oni should not be hers, too, to bear.â
âI do not care to know of Kazama-donoâs whereabouts. That is all I shall tell youâŚâ
Yachiru was, admittedly, relieved that the woman had, in a sense, calmed down. She could finally get a breather and properly explain herself. If nothing more than to reach Izumiâs thick head and get her to understand, at least a little.
âIsnât that what makes Chizuru special, though? The fact that, even if no one truly deserves her, she deems all of us worthy. You know sheâll involve herself someway; itâs her nature. She has to help people.â
Rubbing her sore jaw, she continued, âSay what you will, but Chikage is not a monster. And my mother is not a completely helpless victim. Just... observe how the two interact one day. They have this... special bond where they can just communicate with just their eyes alone. Itâs honestly amazing to see it myself. Iâm envious admittedly.â
Struggling back to her feet, she stared at Izumi with a sad look.
âThank you, however. I guess Iâll just have to find him myself.â She knew Izumi was telling the truth, and now any further discussion was just be a burden on both of them. Besides, Yachiru was hard enough time staying upright, let alone moving.
But I have to find him, she told herself, willing her body to move. It took every ounce of her strength to just stand, though.
{ ⯠} â Take him by surpriseâŚ? Yachiru wasnât implying what Miyako thought she was⌠was she? Her and Tomo hadnât been intimate that often yet, but Miyako knew that her teasing only caused Tomo to get flustered. As much as she liked that, she didnât think Tomo would like to get frustrated or seduced as a gift. Or⌠would he? âLike⌠what?â She asked, curious at what Yachiru had in mind.
But maybe something fox-related was the best route to go. It made a lot of sense. âMaybe a kitsune maskâŚâ She mumbled, thinking about what he would like to receive as a gift. âHe would like that I thinkâŚâ He probably already had one from his travels thoughâŚÂ âBut I donât know how to go about this, thatâs why I asked you Yachiru-chan.â
âHe already has a kitsune mask. Several, actually. He likes collecting them. Different designs and purposes and such. Honestly, I think he just makes up excuses on hoarding everything fox-related.â
Crossing her arms, she grinned at Miyako. âWell, if youâre so insistent on having my advice, just do exactly what I tell you, and I guarantee success. After all, why go for simple when you can go for the best?â After all, her dorky brother was so easy to please. But she knew a method to make him go through the roof in terms of being a total dork. Never settle for anything less than the best, as her father would put it.
Part of Izumi wondered why she was going to such lengths to beat this girl to a pulp. Usually, people like this werenât worth her time, so why now? Why with such vigor? Because you know itâs true, her mind screamed at her. Stop this!
But she couldnât stop.
Once again, the girl tried to defend herself. But Izumi refused to listen. Then came the pleading, and Izumi couldnât stop herself from raising the katana, from threatening to kill the girl.
âShut up.â
She knew it was true. She did. But she refused to believe it. âWhy would Chizuru ever go to Kazama?! Why would she?!â she yelled, her voice shaking in the last sentence. Steeling herself, she picked up the girl by the collar for a third time. âI would never consider a Kazama as my kin. You can say whatever you want to me, but I will never accept you as reality. So⌠SHUT UP!!â she boomed, throwing the girl into the dirt, face first. âThat scum doesnât deserve anything. But especially not someone as good and pure as ChizuruâŚâ Izumi protested, her voice becoming progressively quieter. âJust admit you are lying to me. I will stop if you tell me you are lying.â
âI canât admit to something that isnât true!â She wouldnât, no, couldnât stop. She would much rather die than renounce her heritage.
Although, she might just get her wish this time.
Coughing, she struggled to speak after having both the wind knocked out of her and dirt being shoved up her nose. âI... I donât *cough cough* know exactly why, but my m-mother always said it was...it was because she loved him.â She laughed weakly. âI havenât experienced that sort of love yet, so what would I know? But, I know she loves him... and he loves her. Theyâd do anything for each other, and theyâve always tried their best to protect me and my siblings.â
âAnd you can... say whatever you like, but I know better. You had a particular fondness for my younger brother Kazuki. You even treated him like as if he was your own son... but you havenât met him yet? He doesnât exist yet.â The last bit was mumbled to herself.
Forcing her voice to work, she spoke as loudly as she could, âMy father is not scum! Yes, he did terrible things, but can you say you havenât either? Why does my mother, who was so innocent and accepting, even want a murderer like you as a friend?! Ask yourself that, and youâll find why she accepted my father. Sheâs Yukimura Chizuru; and sheâll damn well love anyone, befriend anyone, and you just try and stop her from being caring. Thatâs who she is. And that woman, Chizuru, is my mother. And I will never. Ever! Renounce her. I am proud to be her daughter!â
Izumi was about to leave, let this girl deal with her own problems, but then she had the audacity and the stupidity to open her mouth again. Izumiâs eyes returned to the girl, icier, colder than they had ever been before. The true kunoichi glare. The only thing that remained a mystery was why Izumi allowed her to speak for so long. So she knows my name.
As she finished the last syllables of her name, Izumi reverted back to her oni form, eyes glowing a molten gold. Whoever this girl was, she was about to learn who Izumi was, what she was in just a few moments. The kunoichi allowed her to finish her piece before taking the last few steps towards her.
In the time it took her to blink, Izumi kicked the girl in the jaw hard enough to break it. She was an oni, her transformation had showed that much, but that didnât mean shit to twenty years of training. Picking her up off the ground again, she hissed, âI work for the Satsuma Clan? Is that what they told you?â she asked, her tone patronizing. Using her bodyâs momentum, Izumi threw the girl across the street, sparing no strength. âAs expected of Kazama. He does not even tell his âchildrenâ the truth,â she scoffed as she walked towards where she had thrown the girl. âI do not simply work for the Satsuma. I am the oni of Satsuma. I am their number one assassin. I kill people for a living. I disembowel them, and make it look as if they committed seppuku. I frame people against one another. I kill generals as if they were lowly farmers. Death means nothing to me, for I am the bringer of it. You have no idea of the horrors of the world.â
Once she had reached the girl, she unsheathed her weapons, and struck the girl in the face with the handle of the katana she had stolen from her first kill of the evening, before any of this had ever happened. âDo not underestimate me, girl. I would shed no tears for killing you, as well.â
Oh god, she was in so much pain. Her jaw in particular, but at least it wasnât broken. During the trauma, she shifted out of her oni form, still inexperienced with how to properly control it.
It didnât matter who Izumi claimed to be, or claimed Yachiru didnât understand. None of that mattered. Coughing again, she rasped, âMy father does not lie, nor does my mother. And as for... what you do... Iâm n-not afraid of you! I donât care if youâre the oni of Satsuma, or if you killed people! I know the real you, the kind aunt who took care of me and my siblings when our parents couldnât!â
Screaming, she said, âJust look at me and see! I refuse to lie to the likes of you! Look at me and tell me Iâm lying to my face!â Her brown eyes, stinging with dust and tears, glared back at the woman known as Izumi, a woman she grew up knowing and looking up to. But this... this couldnât be the REAL Izumi, could it? No, she refused to believe the woman she idolized would be so blind to not realize she was speaking the truth. âLook at me! My hair, my face! Doesnât it strike you as familiar? If you really knew my mother and father, you can see it!â
As the girl spoke, Izumiâs hand involuntarily grabbed the girlâs collar and brought her inches from the kunoichiâs face. Eyes glowing golden, she sounded out every word that came out of her mouth, threatening this slanderous liar with every ounce of rage that had boiled up inside of her.
âNow listen here. Those are dangerous words to be spouting off to any stranger. Do you think my distaste for your supposed father came from some minor altercation?â she hissed, lifting the girl off the ground with sheer strength. âOni or not, know your place. You are far too volatile and bullheaded to win any fight, especially against the likes of me. Now then, Kazama Chikage and Yukimura Chizuru shall never breed together, as long as I walk this mortal plane.â Her rage had officially reached a point that she could get both of their names correct. Hair glowing white, horns emerging from her forehead, Izumi glared all of her hatred, rage, and loathing into the girl. âDo not ever speak of such nonsense again, girl. Run along, and snap your neck for all I care.â Dropping her, Izumi wrapped her mask around her face again, composing herself. Her eyes never left the blonde girl before her.
Yachiru gasped, all the rage fleeing her as the man--no, woman, picked her up. The recognition of just who she was talking to made her decide, the moment of being dropped, to change tactics.
Rubbing her throat, she shifted into her oni form, four small horns appearing on her own forehead. Coughing, she struggled to her feet and shouted, âIâm not lying. Ask me anything of either of my parents, and... and I know who you are, Saigou Izumi.â
Straightened her posture even more, she stared, unhindered at the woman before her. Knowing her identity, she felt more confident addressing her. âSay what you will, but Chizuru, my mother, isnât the sort of person to just judges someone immediately.â She vaguely remembered her father remarking about the trait once. âI know Chizuru is hiding out with the Shinsengumi, searching for her father, Dr. Kodo Yukimura. I also know my father, Chikage, is working for Satsuma. I know you also work for the Satsuma, so you must know where he might be!â
As the girl straightened, so did Izumi, pointing her glare towards her directly. Crossing her arms across her chest, the kunoichiâs eyes narrowed as the girl explained herself. She was too young to be affiliated with Kawaguchi-dono in any other manner than to be his younger sister, or his cousin or hisâ
Izumi scoffed at the thought. Like that thing could ever get someone to reproduce with him.
Pulling off her mask, Izumi spat, unable to contain it any longer, âI would not helpâŚ. that bastard⌠if my life counted on it!â Relative or not, Izumi didnât care. She had already helped that girl enough for one evening, and she wasnât an errand girl. âWhat relation could you possibly⌠have to that imbecile?â she demanded, her voice biting. That was it, Izumi was done with the girl. If she wanted to get into that much trouble, who was the kunoichi to stop her?
As the man spoke to her, she felt the familiar feeling of anger boiling over. What on earth did she do to deserve this kind of treatment? Aid or no, where did this man get off?
âExcuse you? If you must know, I am the eldest daughter of Kazama Chikage and Yukimura Chizuru, two of the greatest pure blooded oni clans to ever exist!â All capacity to reason was lost to her. She will not stand for being treating like this when she did nothing to warrant this behavior! âIf you do not know where my father is, that is fine! Youâve already done enough; I shall simply find him myself!â
Theyâre assuming effin attack formation.
Izumi was consumed by thoughts of a safe place to drop this kid off. Upon closer inspection, thatâs all she really was: a kid. What the hell was she doing wandering the streets at night? She reminded the kunoichi of a certain individual that also got herself in some irreparable trouble by wandering around at night.
When she spoke to Izumi, she didnât bother to answer. No, she wasnât a shinobi, she was an actor, and this was all part of the fun and games Kyoto put on every Wednesday night. Of course she was a shinobi, or at least, the female equivalent.
Then, that was mentioned.
Turning around in a heartbeat, Izumi gave the woman a cold glare, the cold glare. What did she know about that imbecilic bastard? Her glare could make an iceberg shiver, as if her hatred for him wasnât obvious.
Oh, well then. Should she take that murderous glare as a yes?
It wasnât often that Yachiru feared for her life, mostly due to her never bothering to pay attention to how dangerous the situation, as her father would remind her.
She began to second guess her quest in finding her father during this era, but quickly shook her head. She must find her father as soon as possible.
âIf Iâm going to take a guess, that is a yes?â Yachiru tried keeping her voice steady, straightening herself as well to show she was not intimidated. Concerned for her well being, yes, but not frightened into silence. âI am Kazama Yachiru, a... relative of his. I have something very important to disclose to him. If you could, please direct me to where he is, and I shall be out of your hair immediately.â She hoped that would dissaude the man from taking action towards her, right?

Oh⌠right, âsirâ. That is what I look like. Izumi had forgotten herself, as she usually did. It was such an unusual occurrence that she spoke to anyone whilst working that to be addressed in such a formal way was a little odd.
Maintaining her silent demeanor, Izumi shook her head. The more of those animals she could execute, the better the streets would become (she hoped). It was necessary and not very bothersome to kill people such as that, because they were a stain on Japanese society.
It was time they left that gruesome scene. Taking her hand, Izumi started walking away from the corpse, dragging the girl along with her. Hopefully, the younger woman wouldnât get the wrong idea.
Yachiru actually didnât mind being taken away from the grizzly scene. The further she was, the better. Still, she just hoped the one who came to her aid wouldnât do something similar to her or worse.
She kept her pace, or as best she could, with the man. Perhaps she could engage in conversation to ease the tension. But what to do... Oh!
âAre you a shinobi? Would you perhaps know the name âKazama Chikage,â at all?â It was a fair guess, but she was hoping to locate her father somewhere in this era. A shinobi was her best bet at the moment.
Another night, another mongrel. Crouching on a nearby rooftop, Izumi watched in silence as the drunken man bothered a young woman. She was gutsy, admittedly, but she would get herself killed with a toothpick of a sword like that. Compared to his full katana, it wouldnât get the job done.
Izumi supposed that was her cue to intervene.
Jumping from the rooftop, the kunoichi landed before the stumbling man, his hand unsteady, his eyes glazed. Unsheathing her own weapon, remaining silent, she warned with her eyes that if he did not back down, he would be met with an⌠unfortunate accident.
However, he refused to concede, and even dared to take another step towards her. Very well then, Izumi thought. Quicker than lightning, the kunoichi slit his throat, and watched the man crumple to the ground, his body lifeless and his blood pooling in the street.
Turning towards the woman, Izumi bowed, and extended her hand as an offer to take her from this place.
Yachiru was left in a moment of shock for a moment. She had no intention of killing the man, however crude and disgrace he was. But still, she had forgotten her place.
Composing herself, she took the manâs hand. âThank you, sir, but you didnât need to go so far.â Honestly, she was just going to jab the man in his sword arm... and maybe a swift kick to the groin to learn his lesson.
But she had to remind herself; this was Edo Era, not her peaceful Meiji Era. Anyone could drop dead. A slight could evolve into a bloody mess very quickly, especially when ronin were involved.
@satsumas-kunoichi
âWhat did you say, mutt?â The person in question she was referring to was a very drunk man, sloppily leaning against a wall. A second ago, he had made a heinous statement about her figure, calling her over for... services.
Really, could this man not see straight? She obviously was not dressed in oiran attire, nor were either of them even close to the red light district.
The man did not like be referring to as a âmutt,â it seemed, however. He growled and reached for a katana (an item she did not see immediately until he motioned to it), all the while he threatened to teach her respect.
Reaching for her own kodachi, she barked a reply;Â âMaybe I should be the one to teach you some respect!â
{ ⯠} â Miyako fidgeted with her fingers as she shyly asked, âActually⌠I was wondering what Tomo would like as a gift.â Her cheeks filled with warmth and she looked at the ground, âIâd like to get him something, but I want to make sure that he likes it. Would you help me, Yachiru-chanâŚ?â
Gift giving? Well that was certainly something Yachiru wouldnât mind partaking in. Considering what a doofus her brother can be, she was glad Miyako had come to her instead of asking him directly.
âWell, despite how hardheaded he can be in not wanting things, why not take him by surprise? Maybe even woo him a bit?â She grinned at the thought. Yes, something that would blow her idiot brother out of the water and stir the romance pot a bit.
âYou could, of course, go for simple and just get him something fox related. Heâs always taken by those furry critters. But, ah, well, he might be expecting it. Still, he is YOUR lover, and it is ultimately your choice on how you wish to go about this.â
