Match Against The Red Coachâs Crimson Frost Giant Pups - 4
The whistle cut through the noise, but the noise did not fade.
The field reassembled itself into orderâlines drawn, positions taken, structure imposed once more upon something that no longer wished to remain structured. Gold returned to formation with practiced discipline. Red answered in kind. The game continued because it had to.
But it was no longer a single fight as RED-001âs intervention (@polo-drone-001) had forced the Golden Team to split their efforts.
On the gridiron, Kasper (@pdu-090), Nate (@polo-drone-166), Chavaun, and Hunter lined up ready for the kick. Seamus stood in the center, positioned to stand in for his brother Daniel (@danielgold-16), who had not yet returned from his break at halftime. From the sidelines, bros watched as Adonis (@brodygold), Ares (@goldengod-ares10), Kanaloa (@leander-gold-88), and Loki (@jordan-gold-40) had moved to hold off RED-001âs advances in the stands.Â
Across the field, Red responded in kind focused around protecting Red #23 during this kick return. Tighter. Sharper. Controlled aggression replacing earlier fluidity. The Red Coach stood rigid on the sideline, his focus dividedânot between strategy and execution, but between the field and the growing instability beyond it. His extra pups shifted outward, forming a secondary perimeter, attempting to contain what should never have entered the game.
The red coach was fuming internally. This was supposed to be revenge. Not chaos.
After receiving the kick-off from Seamus, Red began to open with urgency masked as precision.Â
Red opened in a trips-right formation, Red #18 in shotgun, running back offset left. Red #18 settled into position, scanning quickly. Gold countered with a 4â2â5 alignment, Xavier (@polo-drone-039) deep center, Brock (@brockgold) rolled slightly underneath the trips side.
The snap came sharp.Â
Kasper did not rush wide.
He slanted inside, attacking the B-gap between guard and tackle. The offensive line shifted lateâtoo late. The protection slid outward, expecting edge pressure.
Kasper broke through untouched.
Red #18 barely hit his third step before impact drove him backward. Sack.
Second down. Red adjusted, condensed into a tight I-formation, attempting to reset physically. Red #18 made a short pass, inside to #12.Â
Tamerlan (@polo-drone-073) closed the lane. Shawn (@shawn-gold22) finished it. Minimal gain. The rhythm faltered.
Red #18 rolled, trying to extend, searching for space that wasnât there. The coverage heldâtight, disciplined. Xavier anchored the deep field. Brock closed the angle underneath.
Devon (@polo-drone-767) followed. A fraction late.
It was small. Almost nothing. A step misaligned, a reaction just behind the play.
But it was there. The pass intended for Red #89 sailed out of bounds. Incomplete.
The drive collapsed without resolution. The punt unit stepped on. The punt was clear and Nils (@polo-drone-034) took a knee this time.Â
The formation widened as they lined up in a shotgun spreadâreceivers spread, space carved deliberately into the defense. Gabe (@polo-drone-075) stood at the center of it, still, composed, already reading what hadnât yet happened.
The play unfolded quicklyâshort pass to Grayden (@polo-drone-084), clean, efficient. The gain wasnât spectacular, but it didnât need to be. The rhythm was there.
Rainer (@rainer-gold-56) ran a drag route underneath, crossing behind the linebackers. Gabe released before Rainer even cleared the lineâanticipation, not reaction. First down.
On the next play, Bram (@bram-gold-54) held back Red #96 as Gabe found his stride. A short pass off to Alton (@alton-gold77) led to Alton slipping through. Another gain.Â
No wasted movement. No hesitation. Red adjusted. It didnât matter.
2nd and 3, Gabe stepped back again.
The pocket formedâMaximus (@polo-drone-070) anchoring left, Wells (@wells-gold58) and Christian (@polo-drone-055) locking the center, unyielding. The pressure cameâand stopped.
Held. For just long enough.
Gabe saw an opening. He moved. No signal. No warning. Just acceleration.
He cut through the line before Red could collapse. Red #71 and Red #90 just barely out of range as they dove to tackle him. The field openedânot fully, not cleanlyâbut enough.
Enough was all he needed. He ran. The gain was massive. The defense broke too late, closing only after the damage had been done. Redâs cornerbacks #6 and #21 eventually advanced closer to Gabe. Gabe surged forward rushing to get out of bounds, momentum was fully Goldâs now.
1st and goal, the snap came quickly. Gold was lined up in a goal-line spread. Gabe saw Grayden, Rainer, and Alton were covered, but saw an opening for a short pass to Penn. Penn drove forward. Contact was made at the two yard line, but Penn pushed forward over the goal line.Â
The stadium reacted, but Gold did not. They reset immediately.
The ball was placed. The moment held. Just a fraction longer than it should have.
Then the kick. Clean through the center..
Red #23 returned the kick from Seamus for minimal yardage. Goldâs defense was not letting red gain any easy advantages.Â
Redâs offense returned to the field already adjusted, their formation tighter, routes shortened, timing accelerated. They were building rhythm without risk. Red #18 wasted no motion on the snap, releasing quickly into short gains that built rhythm without spectacle. It was controlled, efficientâdifferent from before.
Gold answered, but something no longer aligned.
Devon shifted a fraction late. Not enough to break the play. Enough to be seen.
Nate saw it. Said nothing.
Another snap followed, Red #18 rolling right as the pocket held just long enough. The route opened across the middleâtoo clean, too easyâand the pass connected to Red #8, pushing Red deeper into Gold territory.
At the edge of the field, the pressure from the stands began to bleed into perception. Ares moved first, intercepting some red goo blast with a force that bent the air. Ares rose towards RED-001 to block the main threat. By his side, Kanaloa flowed through the public towards his units as RED-001 was spreading his drone to maximise damage. Next to Ares, Adonis stoodâstill, radiant, slowing the spread of panic through sheer presence, holding the line that prevented collapse. Loki disappeared, laying illusions and traps to divert attacks towards real targets.
Nateâs focus fractured. In the stands, something movedâfamiliar, wrong.
A red pup drone with RED-063 on its chest was playfully jumping up on a fan spreading red goo. The fan screamed in pain.Â
The realization settled instantly. That was Chevy (@chevy-gold). Nate channeled Succelos as he called to Chavaun, âOh, for unholy sakes! Cover for me. I have to stop my dumb dog from causing any trouble.âÂ
Nate didnât wait for the next call. He stepped back, already turning, already leaving the field.
On the next play, Red #18 rolled again. Devon reactedâlate. This time it mattered. The window opened, the throw followed to Red #20, and Red advanced again, the defense no longer fully synchronized.
Red continued to chip away with short passes to Red #12, Red #34, and Red #40. Red #57 and Red #61 guarded Red #18. Even Redâs unnamed fullbacks and halfbacks #27, 31, and 32 gave Goldâs defense a hard time getting in. Kasper wasnât pulling any sneaky sacks on this drive.
Gold noticed the defense was a step out of sync. A missed assignment. Devon drifted just off the line of responsibility.
It was enough as Red was 1st and goal. A fake hand-off to Red #34. A receiver broke free along the right side. No containment. No recovery. Red #18 threw to Red #8 who broke free. Red #8 had no resistance crossing the goal line.Â
The extra point followed cleanly, narrowing the gap, but the deeper shift had already taken place. Red now closed the gap to 29-18.Â
The Red Coach seemed prepared to not let the gap go beyond 11 again.Â
C.C. struggled on this kick return as Red #91 and Red#48 were quick to block him in. Gold had a lot of yardage to cover in this drive.Â
Gold did not answer with urgency. They answered with control.
Gold returned in wide spread, receivers stretching the field with quiet intent rather than spectacle. Gabe stood at the center of it, composed, already reading the adjustments Red had begun to impose. There was no hesitation in him now, no transition left to complete. This was his offense.
The snap came clean. A short pass to Penn followed, efficient and immediate, gaining just enough to keep the rhythm intact. The next play developed underneath, Rainer crossing into open space created not by speed, but by anticipation. First down.
Red compressed in response. Coverage tightened around Grayden and Alton, attention drawn to the most obvious threats. Redâs safeties, #37 and #38 were constantly monitoring the deep field. They even brought in their nose tackle, #68 for extra coverage on Alton.Â
Gabe did not challenge it. He simply moved elsewhere, distributing the ball where resistance had not yet formed. The drive advanced in measured increments, each play resolving cleanly into the next.
At the edge of perception, the stadium strained. The pressure from the stands no longer remained separate from the field. It pressed inward, distorting focus, testing the limits of control. RED-001âs pup drone unit had jumped onto the public. Kanaloa rose against a feral duo : RED-073 and RED-153, chasing them to the top of the stands and repelling their assault with the might of a tsunami.Â
Below, Loki had trapped the newly converted RED-035 in a mind maze while Ares and RED-001 were locked in a violent wrestle. The clash continued.
On the field, space narrowed.
A fake to Penn drew just enough attention to shift the defensive line. He rolled slightly, resetting his angle, not to escape pressure but to reshape it. The window that followed was small, fleeting, but sufficient. He released quickly.
Alton caught it in stride at the 10 yard line.
Contact came immediately. It didnât matter. He turned through it, balance holding, forward momentum never fully broken. The last yards came through resistance rather than space.
Gold extended their lead without celebration, transitioning immediately as the ball was set for the extra point. Seamus stepped forward, the motion familiar, practiced, routineâeverything about it stable.
As he settled into position, something surged into him without warning. Not subtle, not distantâimmediate, overwhelming, undeniable.
The recognition was instant. And wrong.
Fenrir was not his. Fenrir was Danielâs.
The realization struck harder than the presence itself. There was no time to process it, no space to question it. If Fenrir was hereâthen something had happened. Something final.
The force within him did not settle. It moved, restless, searching, as if it had been torn free and had not yet found where it belonged. It did not align with him. It pressed against him.
Seamus inhaled too late. The rhythm broke.
The kick followed anywayâreflex, not controlâbut the alignment was already gone.
Seamus remained still after the motion completed, his body holding position while something far older and far stronger continued to move through him, unsettled, unresolved.
And for the first time since the game had begun, Seamus was no longer certain where he stood within it.
The score board shined Gold 35- Red 18.
The field reset again, formations assembling with practiced precision, but Seamus did not immediately return to position. Something lingered at the edge of his awareness, not a sound or a sight, but a pullâfamiliar, insistent, impossible to ignore.
His gaze moved across the sideline before he fully understood why.
He was not hidden, not displaced, not restrained. He stood as he always hadâupright, composed, present. There was no visible distortion in his posture, no sign of struggle or imbalance. Only the color had changed. Where gold had once traced through him, there was now a uniform red, complete and uninterrupted, as if something had been removed rather than added.
He did not react to the game. Not to the score, not to the players, not to the movement of Gold around him. His attention was directed elsewhere, fixed on something beyond the immediate flow of play.
For a brief moment, his gaze shifted toward the stands, toward the slow, spreading disturbance that pressed against the edges of the stadium. There was no urgency in it. No resistance.
Seamus felt it without understanding it, a hollow alignment between what he carried and what had been left behind. The connection did not resolve into clarity. It remained incomplete, unstable, as if something essential had been displaced rather than transferred.
And when Seamus finally looked away, it was not because the moment had ended, but because he could not hold it any longer.
Red did not retreat after the previous exchange. They adapted.
Red operated from a no-huddle shotgun position, accelerating their tempo. Red #18 moved quickly, relying less on space and more on precision, releasing the ball before pressure could fully form.
Gold answered with structure that was no longer complete.
Xavier held the deep field with quiet authority, adjusting for what others could not. Shawn stabilized the middle, closing lanes before they opened fully. Tamerlan continued to disrupt, forcing Red #18 to move sooner than intended.
But the cohesion was no longer absolute.
Devon remained just out of syncânot failing, not breaking, but never fully aligned. The effect was cumulative. Small openings formed where none had existed before, forcing the defense to bend rather than hold.
Red advanced, but not cleanly. Each gain came with resistance, each attempt slowed before it could fully develop. The field compressed as Gold tightened what remained of their structure.
In the end, it held. Barely.
Red settled for the safer outcome. The punt followed, steady and controlled, closing the distance without breaking the game open.
Beyond the field, the pressure did not slow. It spread.
Goldâs offense returned with a different intent.
The formation spread once more, but the tempo beneath it shifted. Gabe no longer pushed for expansion. He managed it, shaping the pace of the drive rather than accelerating it.
The first plays came easilyâshort passes, clean gains, Rainer and Penn moving the chains without resistance worth noting. Grayden drew coverage even when not targeted, his presence alone reshaping the defensive alignment.
Gabe did not challenge it.
The drive progressed steadily, each decision made before pressure could fully emerge. The offensive line remained intactâMaximus anchoring, Wells unyielding, Christian directing with quiet authority. The pocket held when needed and dissolved when it did not.
There was no single decisive play. Only accumulation. Time moved with them.
Red adjusted late, closing space as the drive approached its limit, but the outcome had already been shaped. Gold did not force the end to try another touchdown in the remaining time.
Seamus stepped forward again, the presence within him no longer unfamiliar, but not yet stable. This time the motion held. Perfect snap by Isaac. The strike followed true.
The ball passed cleanly through.
Field Goal.
Gold extended their lead, 38-18.Â
The game did not pause, though less than one minute remained.
Players moved into position again, the next sequence already forming, when the shift occurredânot in the play, but within it.
Devon had been present throughout the quarter, unremarkable, aligned, part of the system.
Until he wasnât. The change did not announce itself. It unfolded.
A hesitation. A distortion in posture.
Acting fast Shawn called for a time-out.Â
As the time-out clock wound down, the transformation spread across Devon with unnatural precision, replacing rather than overtaking, leaving nothing of the previous state visible once it had completed.
RED-007 stood where he had been.
For a fraction of a second, no one moved. Then everything did.
The reaction was immediateâGold broke formation, attention shifted away from the play as the threat redefined itself in real time. The field ceased to be isolated from what surrounded it.
Atlas moved first. Seamus followedânot as himself, but as something carrying more than his own presence. Fenrir surged through him, no longer searching, but acting. Tamerlan joined the motion, their combined force converging without hesitation. Tamerlan knew his cloned body could only handle Dionysus briefly.Â
The three channeled magic together. Shooting a golden beam that struck the newly revealed RED-007, but the impact did not resemble collision. It resembled removal.Â
RED-007 was lifted from the field and cast outward, away from the structure that could no longer contain what had entered it.
The game remained. But the boundary had broken.
When Goldâs time-out ended, less than a minute remained. Red tried to drive to get themselves into field goal range. A short pass to Red #34 taken down by Grant. Kai (@kai-gold-99) and Chavaun were in sync to block a wide pass attempt to Red #8. Even Roman and Hunter pulled their weight stopping Red #40 from getting more than a few yards.Â
But in the end, time ran out and the whistle blew. End of the 3rd quarter.Â
The Red Coach looked into the stands, his sunglasses hid his glare. His body language showed tension.Â
His voice cut across the field, directed not at Gold, but beyond themâtoward RED-001, toward the source of disruption that had exceeded his control. The authority he attempted to assert did not reach its target.
In the stands, the spread accelerated. Order fractured into movementâfans fleeing, others standing still for too long, the distinction between the two becoming harder to follow. RED-001, barely contained by the Golden Gods facing him, let multiple tendrils burst in all directions. Loki managed to raise a shield as Ares rushed to stop the assault.
A drop of goo found a victim below nonetheless. Though that wave was mostly repelled, with each attempt, RED-001âs corruptive goo was leaking more and more through the cracks and the victim count had already risen to a dozen. The Golden presence held where it could, but the scale had shifted beyond containment.
On the field, the players remained.
Because the game had not ended.
The lead held, but the structure was crumbling. It was no longer a question of control. Only how long control could be maintained.Â
