RIP Snowflake. I lost my oldest fish last night. She had suddenly come down with the dropsy again and she somehow had a cut on her side that was not healing. My dad buried her in the backyard in a soap box with my other fish friends that have passed. I'll miss you, Snowflake

Do NOT use Algaefix if you notice you have an issue with algae in your aquarium. I bought it at the pet store near the fish section, and though an employee said it was safe for fish and the same is reported on the bottle, my betta fish died within a day of me putting it…

I’ve used this on my old 30 gallon before but my fish were fine? The ammonia might have come from the algae that died, though its hard to say.

I've heard quite a few similar reports on Koko's involving AlgaeFix. Not sure what's going on there, but I would stay away from it :/

I have one of these in my betta tank! I think it's a 50W, though. I bought it cuz the LFS lady said it was the cheapest one they had (like $12). I wouldn't say I'm impressed, but it's not bad either I guess.

My progress of Sarge for tonight. I am really adoring this one! The colors are super bright and mahn, it’s just pretty. I’m not even sure if I want to risk a color bg hehe. The white is kind of pretty. I’ll wait and ask. :) I did slightly make a mistake on the dorsal fin. I had it all prepared like the tail to have white tipping, but in a mad scientist sort of mood, I was carried away by the paint and colored over it. I’m so sad!, buuut I still think it’s pretty. Oooo

So according to my parents, "whatever I did to the fish tank" (i.e. take out the nasty gravel and go essentially barebottom) has been helping the pee smell. So that's good. Now I won't be so pressured to find homes for my babies ASAP :)

While Jules is losing his black coloration, Godric has been gaining it. The top photo is from the day I brought him home in April 2012, bottom is December 2013. Big difference! Wow oh wow. He was so…peachy!
