I went out early this morning to get some groceries for the morning. I had really exciting news to tell Max. Yesterday I went to the hospital for an ultrasound to check on our new set of twins. I haven't told him yet that I am pregnant because I wanted to make sure that it would be at the right time. Right now I am at 6 weeks into the first trimester. I get to the second floor of the apartment that I share with Max and shuffle through my purse to look for the keys. At first I can't find them, I set down the bag of groceries only to find that I dropped them. I bend down to reach the key near the door mat and find a corner of a piece of paper sticking out from underneath. I pull the paper out and unfold it; it's a written letter to Max. I roll my eyes thinking that it's probably from a fan. I read the first few sentences, "Dear Maxie, the last 5 weeks have really been something magical. I hope to see you again soon and have another special night (if you know what I mean)." That just about had for me. I unlock the door and storm in on Max.
"Hey, Dee! Where's the food?" Max asked her.
"Food isn't important anymore" I told him.
"What do you mean? I thought you went out to get groceries because you wanted to make a nice breakfast this morning. You wrote that down on this sticky you left on our bathroom mirror."
"Why would bastards get a nice breakfast meal?" I mumble more towards myself.
"I'm sorry. Am I missing something here?" Max asks.
"No. Why would you be missing something?" I snap back.
"Then why are you so pissed off?" Max asks sternly.
I hold up the letter that was left for Max, "was this left for me to see? Or did you think I was idiotic enough to not notice this under the mat? Actually don't even answer me, because I wouldn't have noticed if I didn't drop my keys by the door mat. You know... if you don't want to be with me, then all you had to do was leave. Not just pull some shitty move like this. This is really low. Even for you."
"Wait... what letter?" Max asks out of confusion.
I raise it up in front of his face for him to see it.
Max gives me his expression of his ‘shit-I-just-got-caught’ face. I shake my head in disapproval. I made the executive decision to move. Grabbed a bag and started throwing some of my stuff in it, as much as I can. Anything important, from the house; the bathroom, living room, kitchen, and bedroom. Although I was upset, I wasn't going to cry. I didn't want to show him that he has that power over me.

It’s been six years since Max and I broke up, I have two beautiful young boys, Gabriel and Noah, and I have a shitty job as a waitress. Today the babysitter bailed so my little rugrats had to come to work with me. The boys have been doing such a great job at behaving today, which is a shocker because typically they can never sit still, and the almost always ask who their father is. I knew I’d never see Max again, so what the point of answering their questions?
“Hey, Deanna, I just sat a party of five. I’m pretty sure at least one of them is single.” Amy, the hostess, winks at me and then points to the table where five boys sat. I nodded and walked over to their table.
“Hey guys I’m Deanna and I’ll be your waitress, can I start you off with something to drink?” I smiled and looked at the boys; that’s when I froze. Max was one of the five.
“Dee?” His eyes lit up.
“Hey… Max.” I sighed and looked around. “So as I was saying—“ just then Noah and Gabe ran up to me.
“Mommy, we’re hungry!” Gabe whined.
“Okay, I’ll be right there okay boys, let me just serve this table.” I pushed them away towards the table they had taken over for the day.
“Hey Max those boys kind of look like you!” The curly haired boy Max was sitting with pointed at my children. That’s when I knew I had to leave.
“How about I start you boys off with some water and then come back later.”
“Dee, who are those boys?” Max looked at me suspiciously.
“Uh… Those are my sons. Noah, and Gabe.” I looked at Amy for help who was now secretly listening in on this conversation.
“How old are they?”
“Six.”
“Didn’t you two break up six years ago?” The youngest looking one asked.
“Yeah! You said it was the biggest mistake of your life!” Curly nudged Max and raised his eyebrows towards me, “you know, Max is single right now, maybe you could try this thing out.”
“Seeing as those are most definitely Max’s children.” The young one grinned.
“Are they my children?” Max asked.
“Yeah...” I scratched the back of my neck.
“Why didn’t you tell me?”
“I was going to tell you, but then I found that note from that girl, and… well you know the rest.” I sighed.
“Can I meet them? And then maybe we could talk about getting back together? I’d love to be there to make up for the things I’ve missed, Dee.” Max looked up at me with his beautiful eyes, the same eyes my children now have.
“Sure.” I smiled then looked towards Gabe and Noah. “Boys come here, I want you to meet somebody, and you’re going to be seeing a lot of him soon, so hurry up.” I grin and put my hand on Max’s shoulder. Things were finally looking up.
The day had finally come; I was finally going on a date with that cute boy from the coffee shop. After we met we spent weeks just texting, he was mainly the only person I texted, and I couldn’t get enough of him. We never met up after that day either, he had told me he wanted to take me on the perfect date.
I could already tell this wasn’t going to be an ordinary first date, for starters, that cute boy just so happened to be Nathan Sykes of The Wanted, and second of all, he was picking me up at ten in the morning. I couldn’t even imagine what this boy had planned for us, but I had a feeling that no matter what I would love it. When I asked what style of clothing I should wear he told me to dress casual, but not too casual, so I settled with my favorite skirt, and a matching blouse.
After getting into his car that morning we drove off to our first destination (he informed me when I opened the door that there would be two parts to this date), which just so happened to be the zoo.
“I hope you like animals.” He laughed as we got out of the car and started walking to the entrance.
“I love them!” I smiled and picked up a map as we entered. He just chuckled and grabbed one of my hands, making me blush, and led me to the first habitat.
We could have spent hours there, our favorite animal was the otters, they we so playful and adorable today it was hard to not keep going back to them. The penguins were a close second, they kept diving off of their iceberg into the water, it was like a never ending cycle, and it was hilarious. The reptiles were my least favorite, they were so gross looking and they seemed so mean, unlike the cuddly otters and penguins.
Eventually we had to leave or we would have been late for part two, which required a blindfold.
“Are we there yet?” I asked reaching for the blindfold. It felt like we had been driving for hours.
“NO!” Nathan laughed and pulled my hands away from my face with his free hand. “I promise we are almost there, I didn’t think about how there would be other people driving as well.” He chuckled and I felt the car turn.
It was only about five more minutes when Nathan parked the car and told me that we were there. I was so excited I started to take off my blindfold, but once again Nathan pulled my hands away, and then he helped me out of the car. He took my hand and led me inside of a building.
“Okay, we are here,” he undid my blindfold and I looked around. It was a restaurant but we were the only ones there, the building was decorated with paper lanterns and flowers. “I don’t typically do this on first dates,” Nathan cleared his throat, “but you aren’t a typical girl either sooo…” Nathan looked around awkwardly.
“I love it!” I smiled and throw my arms around his neck and hug him. I could tell this was going to be the best first date I’ve ever had.

I'd like to say, I am so sorry if this is bad. This is literally my first ever one shot. I'm not use to writing like a story in one post, so this felt really weird haha. I hope you like it.

I walked into the house to hear an uproar of laughter. As I peak around the corner, into the living room, I see four guys laughing like idiots, while Tom seems to be having a bit of a tantrum. This was normal in The WANTED’s house. Especially since I’m there almost every day; I got really close to the boys when my brother, Nathan, decided it’d be a great idea to have some bonding time with me and bring me along with him on tour. Now Nathan can’t seem to get rid of me, probably because if he did, the boys wouldn’t be too happy. I think of the boys as my brothers, they are always there for me when I need them and honestly, I don’t know what I’d do without them. They were really great people.
I walked into the room where the boys were practically rolling on the floor dying with laughter. “CAITLYN’S HERE!” Tom’s mood suddenly perked up as he ran to hug me. I just laughed and hugged back, extremely confused as to what’s going on.
“So what was so funny?” I asked looking around at the other boys, who were trying to calm down from their fit of laughter.
“Well, we were talking and Tom—“ Nathan was interrupted.
“Nothing happened, they are lying!” Tom glared at the boys, who all started to laugh once again.
“Okay then. I’m going to go make some tea, does anyone want some?” I began to back out of the room and towards the kitchen. Once I was in the kitchen, I started to make the tea. I could hear hushed whispers from the boys in the other room.
“FINE!” Tom shouts from the other room and comes storming into the kitchen.
“Everything okay Tom?” I open the top counter and attempt to reach the mugs. After several failed attempts to get the mugs down, Tom finally came over and grabbed them for me.
“Can we talk?” He asked, pinning me against the counter.
“Isn’t that what we are doing right now?” I laugh a little and looked up at him.
“Look, if I don’t tell you this, Nathan will and—“
“Tom likes you.” Nathan grins walking into the kitchen, interrupting what Tom was going to say. Tom stands there, glaring at him. “Okay, okay. I’ll leave. I just came to get my tea.” He pours himself a cup and then walks back into the living room, with a smug little smirk on his face.
“Was he being serious Tom?” You look back up at him, attempting to make eye contact, but Tom was still glaring at the door that Nathan had gone through.
“Uh yeah, but I was supposed to tell you, and I don’t just like you, I think I might love you.” He smiles sheepishly and backs up a little, freeing you from the counter.
“How long have you liked me?” I asked, raising my eyebrow.
“About two years or so.” I smiled and nodded.
“Okay.” I went back to do what I had originally came in here to do, when Tom grabbed my arm.
“What does ‘okay’ mean?” He searched my eyes for an answer. I just smiled and kissed his cheek.
“It means you should get back to the living room before we get interrupted again.” I laugh and wink at him. “And if you ever want to take me on a date or anything, I’m free tomorrow night at seven.” He grinned and nodded before kissing my cheek and practically skipping out the door. There were a few more whispers in the other room before all the boys cheered.
At least I don’t have to worry about which one of the guys may or may not have a thing for me anymore, but I am really glad it turned out to be Tom.

Chapter 9
*Nathan’s P.O.V.*
Kairi had been doing an amazing job, you couldn’t even tell she had a hurt ankle, and now she’s lying on the ground in tears. I’m not even sure what happened, she stretched out her leg to kick the ball, and once her foot made contact with the ball she cried out in pain. This was probably all my fault, I should have listened to Jay. I should have made sure she didn’t go, but instead, I was the one who took her to the game. I am probably the worst person in the world.
I start to stand up, hoping that there is still a chance that she’ll stand up. It didn’t take much longer to realize that there was no way she was getting up on her own. I kept my eyes on her as I ran downstairs towards the field and jumped over the concrete barrier that blocked the fans from the field. I made my way past the coaches and extra players that began to line the field with worry and made my way to Kairi, who at that time was trying to stand up, and obviously failing.
“Kairi!” I bent down and looked at her with worried eyes. She just shook her head and looked at the ground.
“Nathan I’m fine, just give me a minute.” She took a deep breath in, sucking in every bit of air she could before closing her eyes and placing her hands firmly on the ground. She began to push herself up, tears still streaming down her face as she started to put more weight on her left ankle. Yelping in pain she fell back to the ground. I frowned, wishing there was some way to help her, but I didn’t want to hurt her even more.
“Please don’t try to get up; I don’t want you to get hurt even more than you already are.” I grab her hand and squeezed it lightly.
“No!” She cried, attempting to get up on her feet once again. “I’m fine!” I shake my head and looked at Jack and the medic who had joined us on the field. The medics looked at each other before looking at me and motioning to pick her up.
Just as she tries to stand up again, I slide one arm under her legs and let her fall back onto my free arm. She, of course, immediately starts to struggle as I take her to the locker room.
As I set her on the bed that was waiting for her she begins to sob. “I hate you Nathan!” She mumbles at first, but I can tell she’s angry. “Why did you do this? I could have gotten up if you had just given me the chance!” Her voice gets louder with every word. “You did this on purpose! You hate me! You always have and this was your way at getting me out of your life! You hate that I am always with Jay and that he might actually be falling for me!” At this point she was yelling at me with tears fell down her face at a rapid pace.
I stared blankly at her for a while, getting angrier by the second. She didn’t know anything; she didn’t know that I was the first person they asked to be her ‘boyfriend’. She didn’t know how I felt about her, she knew absolutely nothing. To think she was just making false accusations about how I purposely took her off the field was ridiculous, I’d never try to ruin someone’s career, I may not like her all the time, but I’m not that kind of person.
“You’re right,” I clenched my fists. I didn’t want to deal with here anymore. I wasn’t about to calm her down and have another heart-to-heart moment with her. I didn’t have to explain myself to her; she wasn’t even worth my time. “You are absolutely right,” and with that, I walked out the door.
*Jay’s P.O.V.*
My brother continued to fill me in on everything; even the part where Nathan had ran on the field and picked her up. That was probably even more confusing about this whole thing. Why would Nathan be there, I mean I’m sure he was the one who took her, but I didn’t expect him to actually stay. Last time I checked he hated her, and now, according to my brother, he was taking care of her, trying to encourage her to stay off her foot and picking her up when she refused. It made no sense.
I couldn’t even imagine what Kairi was thinking right now, football was her life, and now she was probably too hurt to even play the rest of the season. I leaned against the window of the cab, thinking about everything. What if Kairi wasn’t able to play ever again? What if she needed surgery? It’s broken my heart watching her just sit around not being able to do anything. I knew how bad she wanted to play football, and now she might never get to play again, and it was all Nathan’s fault for letting her go.
