Dead end: Part 1
The road trip hasnât been updated in forever, so here is a relatable comic from yesteryear instead!
We did some underwater fighting. One of our opponents was a haunted treasure chest that hung around sunken ships. As you can imagine, they had some pretty expensive loot.
Triisu tried looting one.
âGreat,â Triiâs voice was thick with sarcasm, âthat chest had wine. JUST what I needed.â
Trii mustâve still had a lot of booze left over from earlier when she tried purchasing enough alcohol to share with all of us. Unfortunately, they were no drop items, so she had to drink it all herself.
âPurchasingâ
What happened was she loaded up on the free holiday booze and it turned out to be no drop XD
âBad news,â Khassy said, looking at the map. âOur next destination is through Kael Drakkel. The Wakening lands.â
âNoooo.â Triisu wailed. âI died there!â
âYouâve been there?â
Oh. She was getting it mixed up with Sleeperâs tomb. Sleeperâs tomb, Wakening lands.
Zoning back into Kael Drakkel, we were met with these red guys who had followed us there. Weird! Doesnât the train usually disperse after you zone out?
We werenât going to get much further with them blocking the way, so we decided to call it a day.
AFK, Khassy was making a cinnamon roll, Triisu was distracted by a phone call....
TRAIIIIIIIIIIIN
I should never have opened those doors T____T
When we got out, I was amazed that we all survived. Usually Rawry takes the fall at times like these....
In Kael Drakkel, we were faced with a bunch of giants! It didnât help that the Bristlebane Twins shrunk us down to his level. Triisu tried her shrinking spell on one of our opponents, but I donât think it ended up working.
All told, we got pretty far in. I was wary of running into stronger giants and insisted on scoping out the area just in case.
As we went on to Kael Drakkel, Triisu explained that she had been converted by the cultists in the West Karana. Now, she cannot resist âlaying her body on the fireâ or clicking on anything that looks like it could be a portal.
Rare today are opportunities for gamers to step outside the prescribed outlines of a developerâs intended gaming experience, especially in MMORPGs. Back in the early 2000s, anarchic players eagerly hunted down the virtual unknown, where possibility and impossibility were deadlocked within some specter of the original game.
It was only after our misadventure to Sleeperâs Tomb that I learned the crazy history of this zone, and the fan lore that comes with it. What at time that would have been to be online! Who remembers this?

I like how Laksial is standing there like, âYup. Iâm with this super strong guy. Anything come through those doors Imma be okay.â
Laksial immediately set to work when he entered Sleeperâs Tomb, resurrecting our fallen ally. âGive the intern a raise!â I said. I think Khassyâs new mercenary is officially one of us now. Regrouping, I announced that it would be best to get going to our next destination-- Kael Drakel.
âWill this zone also have AMAZING must-see beaches that KILL me?â Triisu asked, daggers in her eyes. Yup, Iâm never going to live this one down. She added that it was a glowing dragon that killed her in there.
âGLOWING DRAGON?â âSeveral glowing dragons.â
;________; and we donât have any pics of that??!
âSo, what do you suppose are behind those doors,â I asked Khassy. Whatever it was was strong enough to take down one of us in a flat minute.
âOpen those doors and youâre dead,â came Triisuâs warning from the beyond. âI died in two hits.â
âIf I die, remember my name,â said Triisu.
âlol, we will,â I chuckled. Reallyâ I thought she was joking! You know, making some dramatic words before forging a path through the great unknown without me.
âSOOOOOOOOOOOOO DONâT ENTER.â
Uh oh. Too late.
We entered.
âOh no. Is Triisu Dead?â
I had to ask the question because I just couldnât believe it. That had to be a changelingâs corpse, right?!
Given Triisuâs reaction upon entering the tomb, I wasnât in any hurry to follow after her.
âManticore crossing!â
We all stopped and let it pass. At least, long enough for Triisu to see something shiny and run up to it.
âWhatâs that? Itâs a DRAGON!â She said as she got closer.
Your Guildmate Triisu has Completed The Sleeperâs Tomb Traveler Achievement.
âOMG. THIS IS FREAKY GUYS.â
Reading the achievement, I realized with disappointment that this wouldnât be a cool side quest; it was where we had been headed for all along.
âAny beaches?â I joked.
âNOPE.â
Day 46 was all about getting experience from a camp of savage frost giants.
Khassy informed me that I skipped a day on our blog! Day 46 :0 apparently I misplaced those photos, so please enjoy this collection.
I have corrected the "day #" of posts by one day, so now I am back on track.
