Itâs him. Your fav is knocking at the door.
âI-â Samiri coughed a few times. âI would disagree, but my head is too clouded for me to care.â  Do not actually hurt Roderich, Samiri is too ill to argue right now.Â
A lopsided frown followed and a move back towards the door. âSeeing as you are really sick, I will leave to give you a rest.â
The fav is always welcomed here.Â
âWell then, looks as if this is the perfect time to go after Roderich.â He wouldnât actually right now, because he just felt too damn terrible. So Roderich was safe. For now.
âGoing so soon? Well, before you go can you do something for me quick?â
@gonchiye
Knocking on the door, and waiting for an answer. No answer. He knocked on the door again, and after no reply he opened the door and walked in. âYou have some rather intriguing interv-â Samiri stopped his brief tirade when he saw Viktor. âYou look awful.â
Who dares to knock at this awful hour? Even though itâs not that late or not that early. Heâs just feeling terrible so any knock at any time is terrible too.Â
âI feel just as bad too.â Viktor sounds awful too. âRoderich is just getting everyone sick. Iâm going to do something to him for getting me sick.â

It really was amusing getting Viktor so frustrated, though it was also a bit surprising to hear him openly admit to his feelings. He only flinched slightly when Viktor hit his desk, but his expression didnât change.
âHm⊠I could consider keeping it a secret. After all, who am I to get in the way of young love? Ah, wait, you arenât exactly young, are you? Ah, well, you understand what I mean. But if you wish for me to stay silent on the matter, I suggest you tread very lightly in the future. Who knows when I might feel like sharing?â
His eyes were now directed down at the desk. He gritted his teeth in frustration, and his finger nails dug into his skin he had his hand so tightly balled up.Â
âIf you even think of sharing this I will come and hunt you down. Iâll break your damn arms, your hands. Iâll break everything about you.â He paused and stood up again, sneering at Roderich before turning to the door. âIâve had enough of this.â
Petty Revenge
engeldermusik:
Oh, and Roderich thought this couldnât get any better! Now Viktor had practically actually admitted to it! Still wearing a smug smile, he raised a brow in surprise. âOh? Donât tell anyone? So you are admitting to hiding something now? Wonderful. I suppose the feelings arenât foreign any longer, then.â
âOh, and I wouldnât lay a hand on me if I were you. What would Samiri think then? He already worries quite a bit whenever you attack me⊠We just had dinner the other night, you know. Heâs quite a good cook.â
âWonderful?â Viktor repeated, his voice dripping venom now. âThis is not wonderful! And the feelings were never foreign! So what if Iâm hiding it? No one needs to know!â With each word his voice rose, and at the end he slammed his fist down onto the desk. He would have much rather it had connected with Roderichâs face.
âDo not fucking tell him of this.â
Petty Revenge
engeldermusik:
Roderich didnât falter, only continued to smile, amused by Viktorâs reaction. âAh, so you are hiding something, then,â he said in a false cheery tone. âIf you didnât want such a rumor spreading, I would expect you to give me a firm no. But instead you gave me an answer that is anything but ânoâ⊠How curious.â This was a better reaction than he could have anticipated. âAre you truly just now discovering the answer for yourself? I suppose such feelings would be rather foreign to you, after all.â
Maybe Viktor should have said no from the star and just left then. Not only has he now gotten himself into a corner, but heâs now in a damn hole. And he was just digging himself deeper at this rate. There was no use in just denying it now. At least Roderich was the only one in the room.Â
âDo not tell anyone of this. Or I will come after you and put your ass on the wall.â Once again he wasnât saying no, and it was almost sounding like his own way of saying yes. âSuch feelings are not foreign to me.â
Petty Revenge
engeldermusik:
Roderich really didnât mind if he didnât hear it directly from Viktor at that moment, but he knew the other well enough to see that something was going on in his head. It helped that Viktor was absolutely terrible at masking his expressions at times.Â
âFine then. If youâre so certain youâve nothing to hide, then tell me. Do you or do you not feel something more than friendship toward Samiri?â
Viktor leaned his hands on Roderichâs desk and got himself right up in his face. He had enough of Roderichâs prodding. âLike hell Iâm going to tell you such a thing. I know the two of you are friends, and if I even had such an inkling of liking him I know you would tell him. I do not need such a thing floating around the Guild.â
Petty Revenge
engeldermusik:
Oh, this was all too amusing. Viktor might have been doing an alright job of hiding it, but he was clearly unsure what to say at this point. And Roderich was more than happy with the results.
âAh, yes, telling me twice that youâve nothing to hide is very convincing. Granted, if that minor misstep wasnât telling enough, your expression speaks volumes.â Roderich finally allowed himself a small smirk. âYouâre hiding something, perhaps even to yourself.â That was mere conjecture, but no need to state that. Roderich figured it was better to be completely confident that he was right than continue as if he were simply guessing.
Viktor was not enjoying this at all. It wasnât just the teasing from Roderich, but also the fact he had the dawning realization of just what the hell was up. And there was no way he was going to let Roderich know that he now knew.
âI am not hiding anything. Youâve put me in a bad position, how else am I to react?â He flashed a sneer towards Roderich when the other smirked. âThere nothing to hide. You are just chasing some trail you think will lead somewhere, but it is not.â
Petty Revenge
engeldermusik:
âTrust is one thing. All of these incidents canât just be coincidences, I hope you realize. After a while, it becomes a pattern.â
While Roderich didnât have any more receipts, he most certainly didnât want to end this just yet, not with how Viktor was reacting. âIf there was nothing special to it, why are you becoming so defensive? Itâs almost as if youâve something to hide.â
Viktor was quiet again. Part refusing to acknowledge what Roderich has said, and part not knowing just what to say. This was quite the corner he had been backed into.Â
âI have nothing to hide.â Heâd hate to admit it, but it was starting to seem like Roderich was really onto something. Of course he wasnât going to say anything now. But he would very much have to figure this all out later. âI am not hiding anything.â
Petty Revenge
engeldermusik:
âTheyâre favorites, and yet you would still trust Samiri with them⊠interesting.â Maybe Viktor had been in denial after all. There was something about his expression that was changing, and Roderich was very curious to know what was going on in his head.
The look didnât bother Roderich at this point, he was too confident now. âWell, to start, Samiri is my vice leader. What happens to him concerns me greatly. More than that, I am his friend, so I care about finding out your intentions.â Of course, there was also the fact that it was oh so amusing to get Viktor in a corner like this, but he wasnât about to say that.
âBecause I trust him. Havenât you been wanting me to get along nicely with other Guild members?â Time to try and get this off of Roderich question Viktor so much. Anything else would be better. Like that sandpaper again.
âIâve already told you my intentions. There is no ill will, nothing special behind what I am doing. I am simply getting along with someone. Thatâs it.â He wouldnât have been getting so agitated if that was really just it. He was getting very much ready to just leave now. âAre you done yet?â
Petty Revenge
engeldermusik:
And it will still be very obvious.
Roderich had a feeling this one was going to give Viktor a hard time. It was hard to mask a smirk, but somehow he managed, though if Viktor were actually looking at him, he might be able to tell that Roderich was a bit amused. âAh, of course, nothing special. Itâs just your coat and scarf, which I donât think Iâve ever seen you without. Iâve always assumed they were quite special to you.â Roderich kept up his stare.
âYou could have always offered to go indoors, but instead you lent your precious coat and scarf⊠and not only that, you let him hold onto them for a time. My apologies, but your explanation really doesnât hold much water.â
That it was.Â
âYou heard me right. Itâs nothing special.â Viktor was still keeping up his oh so good disguise of denial, though he was looking like he was starting to realize something. Not that he would share what it was yet. âThose items are favorites.â
He was quiet again for a moment before flashing Roderich a look. âWhy do you care so much about this? All in all, this has nothing to do with you.â
Petty Revenge
engeldermusik:
Yeah, Roderichâs entire schtick is learning to recognize and understand how people act, Viktor. His denial was way obvious.
Giving a sigh, Roderich leaned forward in his chair again, resting his elbows once more upon his desk. âWell, if you insist, I have one more point I can think ofâŠâ He paused, as if to think about it for a moment, before looking up at Viktor with a cold glance. âI must say, it was quite the surprise to me when I found Samiri the other day, adorned with your sweater and scarf⊠Care to explain?â
Oops. Heâll still be in denial though.
The other instances were easy to put an excuse to, but this one was a bit of a corner. Viktor had to actually think of some sort of reason. Though that wasnât coming easy this time. âIt was cold out and he didnât have a very good jacket of his own.â He paused after speaking, his lips pursing. That wasnât much of an excuse but the actual reason.Â
âThatâs why.â For once Viktor wasnât meeting Roderichâs cold stare with one of his own. Instead his gaze was directed away. âNothing special behind it.â
Petty Revenge
engeldermusik:
Oh heâll keep trying alright. For once his stubbornness is going to pay off, hopefully.
âIâm aware that you can check the wrist for a pulse. In fact, I suspected you might say thatâs what youâd been doing. But all that takes is two fingers. Did you really need to hold his entire hand to do so? From what heard, it could have even been mistaken as a rather touching, yet heartbreaking scene, not unlike the reactions to the other deaths from their significant others.â
Hopefully.
âSo what it is it to you? I told you, I was checking. That is all that was happening. It was not touching, it was not heart breaking.â He was probably in way too much denial for this. âDo you have anything else to really prove anything, or can I go now?â
Petty Revenge
engeldermusik:
Viktorâs last arguments against the drawings certainly werenât interesting, but Roderich was going to focus on that any longer. No, he had to continue on to better things, bigger incidents that Viktor couldnât so easily explain away.
âHm, I suppose youâre right that everyone was a bit at their witsâ end⊠but the only ones reacting so strongly to the deaths were people very close to the victims. And while you might be closer to Samiri now, you certainly werenât as close then.â He gave a scoff of a laugh. âDouble checking? For what? To see that he was dead? Really, Iâd think you of all people would know what a dead body looks like. Besides, if you really were checking, you would have checked his pulse, which you can do without completely holding someoneâs hand.â
You can try and you might Roderich, Viktor is going to try his damn hardest to come up with some sort of explanation.Â
âYou know that I have a temper, and that it can go off at just about anything. That just so happened to be what triggered it then since I was at wits end like you said.â Viktorâs eyes narrowed at the scoff. âI do know what a dead body looks like. And you know in that hell anything could have happened. More often than not people check the wrist for a pulse.â
Petty Revenge
engeldermusik:
So Viktor was clearly still in denial, or he just really didnât want anyone to know. Either way, Roderich wasnât about to back down yet.Â
âYou could pay attention, for starters. Or take notes. Or do something less strange than draw pictures of your coworker and friend like some sort of child with a crush.â Perhaps, Roderich thought, he ought to bring out some of his other receipts now. âBut of course, if I was going off of that alone, Iâd seem rather foolish. No, Iâve more reason to think this.â He watched Viktor critically for reactions.
âOnto my next point⊠that ridiculous display that that Poe put on. You acted quite strangely then, Iâd say. You werenât entirely close friends then, and yet you still were rather upset by his death, going so far as to get mad at me. And from what Iâve heard, you apparently showed a bit more⊠vulnerability while investigating his body. Why did you feel the need to hold his hand?â
Viktor scrunched his nose up at Roderich comparing him to a child with a crush, but brushed it off quickly. Canât give Roderich what he wants yet. âMake the meetings more interesting and maybe Iâll pay more attention. You can only hear about the finances of the Guild so many time before you fall asleep.â
âThat entire thing was a shit show. No one was really themselves. Seems like a poor picking of examples, as everyone was probably off then.â He paused for probably a moment too long. âDouble checking.â
Petty Revenge
engeldermusik:
Roderich ignored Viktorâs comments. This wasnât about them, after all, this was about Viktor and Samiri. Which wasnât any better, but regardless, that was the topic.
âI suppose thatâs how you could make friends⊠but drawing your friends without asking during meetings? I must say, that strikes me as a bit odd. From what Iâve heard, Samiri is quite the muse to youâŠâ Once again he adjusted his glasses. âTheyâre quite good drawings, I must say, but I have to wonder why you choose to draw him over everyone else in the meetings? Itâd be one thing if you asked him to model for you, but doing so without permission only raises more questions.â
It was about Viktor, so he was going to bring up anything and everything.
âWhat else am I to do during such boring meetings? And Iâve drawn more than just him, you know. Itâs not even always things at the meeting.â He paused for a moment, and pursed his lips. Thinking about Roderich had said. â...I have not shown you any of my drawings. And as to why I draw him is really of no concern to you. I draw what I draw, and sometimes it happens to be him.â
Petty Revenge
engeldermusik:
âIt was simply an example. I refuse to speak more of it.â Like hell is Roderich ever going to admit he got any semblance of enjoyment from their unfortunate fling, even though he definitely did. It was just the aftermath that ruined it.Â
âWellâŠâ Roderich hummed as if in thought, deciding what receipt to pull first. He better save his big guns for later. âTo start off, Iâve noticed you two spending quite a lot of quality time together, lately. Iâve confirmed this with Samiri as well. Youâve been very kind to him as of late. Now, at first I thought perhaps you had ill intentions, as I said before. But then I became aware of another interesting factâŠâ He paused, perhaps for effect. âDo you enjoy drawing, Viktor? You seem to be drawing something at every meeting.
âThen you should have never brought up such a thing if you wish not to talk of it more.â Knowing Viktor he would try and bring it up every chance he got just so he could annoy Roderich with it. âItâs amazing what denial you bring up even though nothing bad had happened then.â
âIsnât that what you do when you make a friend? Spend time with them and not just brush them off? As far as Iâm aware thatâs what you do.â He stopped leaning on the desk and stood up again, raising a brow at the pause. âI do. What does this have to do with anything?â
