yeah i am forever mad that we don't get to see how samira changed during these four months under al-hashimi's leadership without robby present. how we won't get to see her reaction to him coming back and doing just as badly. their awkward tension and stunted communication. possible aborted apologies, samira going to al-hashimi as her attending and trying to avoid him, but wondering how he is regardless, hoping it's better but seeing that it isn't. samira's confidence having grown some, realising how hard it's been for her these past years under robby's supervision. him trying to find a time to talk to her and failing. al-hashimi seeing how much samira struggles with him being back but not wanting to overstep. some possible growth on all sides. sighs.

i really appreciate how candid shawn is in interviews. he's pretty straightforward and transparent about all aspects of acting, his characters and process — and it's really enjoyable to watch and listen to, and very refreshing.

the way he talks about how yes acting is a creative passion for him but also a job, one he has to support his family with.

his unfiltered feelings about his regret and loss from supriya/samira's departure from the show.

the outsider position he was in during the beginning of his filming for s1 (not knowing the set dynamics, being unsure about his character's lore and interrelations with surrounding characters).

his strong feelings, interpretations, and even disagreements about aspects of the jack abbot character written into the script or proposed by the writers.

the truthfulness and wonder in which he discusses mohabbot; how he wishes he knew more about what him and supriya would create during the mass casualty scenes so he could have played into that during the bench scene, his immediate interest in their relationship even just on the page, and his excitement about off-screen aspects of their story together.

and the way he does incorporate aspects of the character into his performance that never made it into the script or on air.
