So it’s been several weeks now since the Chrono Trigger & Chrono Cross Arrange Album [x] was released. There is a playlist up on Youtube for anyone who wants to listen before they buy. If you’re able to, I recommend purchasing this album to show support to Yasunori Mitsuda and his work (Chrono Trigger especially, of course!).

JRPG BGM APPRECIATION POST 01

Probably the most well-loved classic JRPG titles of all time, Chrono Trigger has one of the most beautiful game soundtracks, and some of the most beautiful BGMs, ever. Its music had been covered in different genres for many years, and is getting new covers and attention still.

This is one of my favorite pieces within the game, the BGM of Guardia Castle. Listening to it will make you feel all the glory and grandeur of the greatest kingdom in all the known lands. Although because of my relatively recent affection with Oujisama no Propose (Be My Princess), listening to this makes me think of all the throne rooms or King’s courts of all 6 kingdoms, and how small and insignificant you must feel, as a commoner, presenting yourself before the rulers of a nation, and looking up at the bleak faces of the parents of the man you love. This is so dramatic that you cannot help but let your imagination run away with itself. OwO
