I've been re-listening (is that a word?) to some of the older podcasts, and in episode 17, you talk about how guys don't tend to identify themselves as characters the same way female fans do. I see this, and raise you the Ninja Turtles. Ask anyone who grew up on any incarnation of the series, and they'll be able to tell you which turtle they are (Personally, I've always been Raphael).

I can't remember exactly what we said in that episode but that's true about Ninja Turtles. I identified with the same one and the same could be said for Sailor Moon, I was Sailor Uranus.

But that's probably wishful thinking.

So I'm just here going through tumblr and someone on TV started talking about craisins and I thought of you guys. I hope you're all having a good day/night.

Cosmic asked if we had a word we used and were then horrified to find out what it meant: I went to an Australian primary school (govt. funded/controlled) in the mid-90s and a popular rhyme (taught by teachers) was "Eeny, meeny, miny, mo, catch a nigger by the toe, if he squeals let him go, eeny, meeny, miny, no". Of course, my tiny mind had no idea what that meant, but when I did I was horrified. More horrified our teachers taught us that when we had two Aboriginal Australians in our class.

We would do the same rhyme but we would say "Tiger" and when I got older my mom informed me that when she was a child the rhyme was originally used with the N-word, supposedly to taunt slaves

I wonder where the rhyme originated from?

Somewhat related to the subject of otherkin, I was wondering if either of you had heard of "fictionkin" and what you thought about it? From what I understand, these are people who identify themselves as a fictional character. To specify, these are not people who RP as a character. They are people who seem to really strongly identify with a character to the point where they talk about them as if they were talking about themselves. Have either of you encountered anything like this in any fandom?

In episode 35 when you were reading out the things that that article said is was okay to make fun of you said trucks. I was wondering what you meant by trucks cos my immediate thought was the big ass trucks that like carry cargo and stuff but then I remembered in america you guys have pickup trucks which are kinda like utes in australia. so which did you mean?

We were talking about pickup trucks. They are incredibly common in the states, especially in the south. Usually if you hear an American say "someone who drives a truck" that's what they're referring to because we call people who drive shipping trucks "truckers"

I wish you guys hosted a radio show, not that many people actively listen to the radio anymore. I feel like you'd probably get pulled halfway through though. I just want everyone to listen to your podcast. It's great.

I've been on the radio and it sucks

You have to be careful about what you say and everything is live so cosmic definitely wouldn't be able to do it; sometimes she just ignores me and when I ask her what the fuck she's doing she says "I'm looking up that thing you said 10 minutes ago, I think you're wrong"
