This has been both the happiest and most difficult relationship I’ve ever been in. I knew exactly what I was signing up for when I started this. But nothing could prepare me for what a rollercoaster this was going to be... will continue to be. We are both navigating through territory unknown; doing the best we can in our given situation. I remember very vividly being told that it wasn’t going to be easy. And how right they were. This week was a big testament to that. But we’ve come out stronger in the end. We both learned that we need to communicate more clearly and reiterated that we both want the same things in life. We are both trying to reach that common goal. There is no right timeline and no guidelines to follow. That we are doing this to the best to our ability without hurting or confusing a child in the process. I wasn’t remotely prepared for any of this, no matter how much I try to convince myself otherwise. What I do know is: 1. I can’t imagine my life without him in it. 2. I love his child unconditionally already without having met him... yet. 3. We’ll make it through anything especially after this hurdle.
