My fav ship rn is a rarepair. Like. Extremely rare.

There is maybe 7 works on ao3 that features the two characters i ship and they are not even the main focus. Except for like 3 of those which are all explicit (which is fine obvi, but I love fluff and aangst too.)

Anyways. I wish more people would understand how PERRFFEECCTT this ship was but im like the only one. Aside from 3 other people. Maybe. I dunno all the fics and art of them were from years ago iirc. I think i'm the last shipper.

Thankfully my other fave ship is ALSO a rarepair except it actually has content. Except the artists i love who draw and write for the ship are all antis and blocked me to like idk what to do about that. Whoops...

I feel like both sides of the shipcourse discussion are very anti-black. Antis are just way more obvious about it, especially when talking about black proshippers. I do wish that the proship community calls out some of the bigger/infamous bloggers out on their anti-blackness though

I love Adult x Teen especially, but teen x young child is really good.

I don't know where to search for fics tho, or how to go about finding it without just getting adult x child (i'm 50/50 on that one, depends on the ship) especially bc my favourites are like character x young ver of their partner. Do you (or anyone else) have tips?

this is an issue on both ends but it sucks when people posit "the inability to separate fiction from reality" or "this is how fiction affects reality!" about actual sexual violence/grooming that occurs in a fandom context when generally people who rape, abuse and groom DO know that what they are doing is abusive and harmful. they just don't give a shit. we would have so much more productive discussions abt how and when fiction affects reality (hint: its usually not over shipcourse but w/ media being overtly racist/orientalist). nobody gets taught to rape over ao3 fanfiction but people ARE taught to rape by a society that teaches those in power that its entirely ok to disregard the rights, dignity, and humanity of groups they have deemed disposable. which is why. yknow. we never really see fanfiction writers ACTUALLY enact sexual violence irl but see a lot of otherwise "normal" cishet men and women.
