Spotted on the ferry is EMMA FLETCHER, they were mistaken for MEGHANN FAHY. FLETCH is 34 years old, they identify as CIS WOMAN (SHE/HER). personality: Fletch is bubbly and outgoing with a childish charm that always seems to shine through. She enjoys a joke, and her natural defence mechanism is to turn the situation into a joke. She has a self-centred edge and always looks out for herself. She can be cold and finds it hard to let other people in. But at her heart she is loyal and warm.

 BACKGROUND / BIO

 Born in Maple Creek, Emma grew up with her mother (the mayor) in Maple Creek. She was adopted as a small child and never knew her own parents. Emma has always been close to her siblings and her mother. Although this sometimes can lead them to act more like friends then family. Her grandmother was also a big influence in her life and she financially supported Emma’s mother through the decision to become a parent and through her political career. While her mother worked, Emma and her sisters spent a lot of time with their grandmother.  Once Emma started to attend school she started to become known as Fletch.  Fletch grew up with a positive self image and is not shy when it comes to her sexuality or her own brilliance. If there is one thing Fletch is not, it is modest. Fletch attended college in New York  college although after an injury gave up on her dream to dance. She began to teach dance in the city. Her art is her escape and she doesn't know what she'd do without dance. Fletch loves all things girly, pink and sparkly. She’s athletic and likes to work out and she also loves animals. She has a cat called Donut. She loves beautiful things and is not apologetic that she likes to look good.  Fletch was in a happy long-term relationship with a man until she cheated on him a few months ago. It was a drunken night after a Bachelorette party. Although Fletch wanted it to be just once, the affair continued for around six months before her partner found out. Fletch had never believed in love, but suddenly she was in love with two people at the same time. In the end, it came to a decision. Fletch chose herself. She decided to end it with both partners , pack her bags, she quit her job and ran home to the only people she knew she could trust. Her family.  Although heartbroken at first, Fletch sees that she wasn’t mature enough for the relationship. Fletch quickly charmed her way into a job at tiny toes dance studio and is settling in well. She hopes to build up a new career in town and build a new life here in Maple Creek.  Fletch plans to enjoy the single life and is regularly dating. She has no intention of settling down again anytime soon. But she enjoys getting dressed and going out.

Gray was locking up his car, shivering slightly at the cool air on his skin when he spotted someone familiar. He took a double-take, his tired brain catching up to the face standing in front of him. Shit. He knew that face very well. "Cel? Celeste Athers?" he asked, a wide grin spreading across his features. "Wow, fuck, I haven’t seen you in forever. Damn," he smiled once more, taking in her tired face but still effortlessly pretty appearance. He suddenly realised, how much he'd missed her.

"Yeah, I’m working at the gallery here now," he said, pointing towards the direction of the nearby buildings. "Art classes and some other stuff. You look... really good, by the way." He couldn't hide his smile, remembering their high school days. "I can’t believe it’s you. What are you doing out so late... or early?" he asked, gesturing to the parking lot.

Cel pulled Graham into an awkward hug. She wasn't sure if they were there anymore. She didn't talk to anybody from high school. But losing touch with her close friend group was something she regretted. "Graham Novello." She chuckled. "You look really well." She glanced over him.

"The gallery..." Pausing. "Shit. You do art?" She laughed pulling her jumper around her. "Why thank you, Mr Novello." Cel gestured over her scrubs. "A call out. Doesn't happen often but sometimes when the ferry isn't in operation well.... babies have to be born." She rubbed her lips together. "I'm a midwife. To clarify. It's not just a hobby."

Gray let out a tired sigh, he could feel the slight chill of the approaching winter air against his skin. He’d just finished an evening class and was locking up the museum. He felt exhausted but it had been a good evening. Many of the adults really enjoyed the later classes.

He'd thought about stopping to get some food but remembered he had some leftover pasta in the fridge and he knew he could easily put some life back into it with some fresh herbs and cheese. Cooking was a comfort to him, even when he was tired.

He headed around the corner to his car, his boots echoing on the ground in the quiet. He looked around, hearing footsteps, offering a smile at the other person. “Hey, have you just finished work too? Just out and about? Busy day?” he asked, making conversation as he unlocked his car door.

Cel felt like a zombie, she was exhausted as she often was after a long night. But she loved her job. She liked working in the community and call outs weren't common in a town of this size. But it just so happened when she was called out at night, it was the longest night of her life. She was yawning, her car keys and her stanley cup in her hand when Gray spoke to her.

"Mmmm yeah it's been a pretty long evening actually. Unexpected." Her eyes glanced over him, she hadn't seen him for a long time and she wasn't even quite sure he had realised who he was talking to. "You work around here?" She asked, looking around the parking lot.

Xavier was doing his shopping for The Standstone, at least today's shopping. Sure, he could have went anywhere after he graduated college, but he had decided to come back here and open The Sandstone. He loved it. Loved the town, and people in it. So naturally he didn't mind at all coming back to the small town and opening the restaurant. Plus it was in a great location. So there was that as well.

Letting out a small sigh, as he went to grab for something at the same time someone else did. "Oh, no you go ahead." He offered, he even it was the last one on the shelf. He could figure out something else to add or even make if nothing else worked for the dish that he wanted to make for his guest.

Celeste adjusted the strap of her bag as she reached for the last bag of penne pasta, only to find her hand brushing against another. Startled, she looked up to meet his gaze. She gave him an embarrassed smile as she reached up and took the bag.

“Oh, um, thank you!” she stammered, a blush creeping up her cheeks. “Honestly, i'd be polite and argue but you might have saved my night. I eat like a toddler and after a night shift i can only eat this exact pasta shape with a little cheese on it. I swear the shape changes how it tastes" She chuckled nervously, tucking a loose curl behind her ear, her scrubs slightly crumpled from a long shift.

Dex gave a small laugh as Fletch kicked the tire. He could see her frustration but he had to give her credit for trying to smile through it. "Yeah, that's you," he grinned back at her, leaning on the side of the truck. He was trying to look cool.

When she mentioned 'a metal thing', Dex tried not to laugh. "Oh, yeah, the metal thing. Definitely need that. That's the tire changing thingy, right?" He scratched the back of his neck, pretending to think about it for a second. Though he couldn't hide his smile. "I could totally pretend I’m an expert here... but I'm really not," he laughed as he pulled his phone from his pocket.

"What I do have though, is a phone, thumbs to search and YouTube. So, we’re in good hands." He unlocked his phone and started scrolling through videos, glancing at her every so often with his usual smile. "It's been one of those days?" he asked gently as he clicked on a video. "Here we are, How to Change a Tire in 5 Easy Steps."

"My reputation precedes me." She flopped back onto her ass, sighing at the state of the car. Right now, who Dex was was the least of her worries. She was just grateful someone had stopped to help her. "I do enjoy good hands." She kept up her usual humorous demeanour, masking anything else she was feeling in that moment. She was exhausted, it had been a long day. But growing up with a mother in politics, she'd learnt to hide that until she was behind closed doors.

She bit her thumb nail, watching Dex's phone screen as they spoke. "Let's just say i need to get away from this gym before the owner realises how much in damages i owe him."

Sawyer remembered those times when she went home after work completely exhausted and barely on her feet. For years, she was the girl who was always working, no job was beneath her. Anything to keep her and her family afloat. Working at the radio station really put things into perspective. Back then she couldn’t wait to fall into bed, now, well, she decided to stroll through town after getting off work. That’s the kind of life she had now. Small and simple but at least she had the time to live it.

Walking across the street, The Arm Bar was still buzzing. She always promised herself she’d eventually walk in there and do something for her body, today would not be that day. She had almost cleared the building when a voice caught her attention and as she glanced to take a look, she locked eyes with its source. Sawyer came to a stop and immediately started to scan the scene to figure out what had happened, although it wasn’t hard to spot. “Shit.” Breezed past her lips as she came closer, squatting down in front of the tire. “The good news is, you’re not delusional. Not about this, at least. The bad news is the tire is a goner, I’m sorry.” Slowly getting back up to her full height, she eyed the mess for one more moment before glancing at the unfortunate soul next to her. “You got a spare in there?”

Fletch’s eyes widened as she heard Sawyer’s familiar voice. Her embarrassment started to melt into amusement of the situation only she could get herself into. “Yeah, about the spare…” Fletch turned to her car with a sigh, a grin still plastered across her face despite the predicament. She bounced around to the passenger side, digging through the clutter. “I don’t have one, but I’ve got this!”

With a flourish, she produced a can of tire sealant, holding it up. “The guy at the garage gave me this, but I was too busy trying to figure out if he was as pretty as I thought at first glance. Honestly, I just stood there staring at his lips moving while he talked about how to use it. I totally spaced out on the details." She looked at the can, taking the lid off and staring at the end of the bottle.

Dex always seemed to be a bit of a scatterbrain. He'd been out running errands all afternoon, but he'd naturally got sidetracked by a cute dog that someone had tied up outside the gym. He was crouched down, giving the dog some ear scratches, when he heard a girl letting out a frustrated sigh in the parking lot.

He looked up, taking a moment to process her words, scanning over the truck and then the girl. His brown eyes squinted a little in recognition, and then it clicked... Fletch. He remembered her from high school. She was a little older than him, but even now she looked effortlessly cool and pretty... even with her seemingly annoyed expression.

Standing up, Dex ran a hand through his messy hair and crossed the lot toward her truck. His usual, easy smile already spreading across his face. "Fletch?" he asked, raising an eyebrow as he reached her.

He gave the flat tire a quick glance before turning back to her with a playful grin. "Well, I mean, I wear glasses but this looks like a flat shit tire to me. And the icing on a good day?" His tone was teasing but light, not wanting to push too far.

"Need a hand?" he asked, giving the truck another look over, his expression more genuine now. "I know I fix animals but I’m pretty sure I can handle a flat tire. Or, at the very least, keep you company while we pretend I know what I’m doing." Dex flashed her an easy smile, with a natural flirtation to his tone.

At first, Fletch was concerned that the voice was going to be someone from the gym asking her to pay for the damages. She had been counting on being able to make her quick escape. Although karma had hit her like a ton of bricks. Then she realised that the man hadn’t come from the gym. She paused, trying to place him. “That’s me.” She beamed, putting on a fake smile and trying to hide any frustration she was feeling. She didn’t like to put her problems on other people, even when they were getting her down. She also didn’t want the man to realise she hadn’t quite placed who he was yet.

“You have no idea.”  She held her hands on her hips, kicking the tire and then holding in a little wince having forgotten her bruised foot. “I… won’t say no to the help. Or the company in cluelessness.” She sighed, sitting on the back of the truck. “Seriously, today has been… something.” She closed her eyes for a moment. Opening one eye again as he moved towards the truck. “Do you need like a metal thing to change that?”

Shelby had been about to get into her own car when she overheard the mayor's daughter. Honestly, she witnessed the kettlebell incident the younger woman had and felt the second-hand embarrassment. She would keep that information to herself unless asked about it. It seemed like one thing after another was happening to this woman and she really didn't want to make it worse. "Nope, not delusional. That's definitely a flat tire. Do you have a spare somewhere?" Shelby was well aware that she didn't look like the type that knew how to change a tire, but she grew up with brothers. "I might be able to help you, if you'd like."

Fletch looked up, surprised but amused to find another witness to her never-ending chaos “ I think there’s a spare, though knowing my luck, it’s probably flat too.” She gave Shelby a once-over smiling with amusement. Although she noted the woman's confidence.

“You really know how to change one?” Fletch raised an eyebrow, her grin turning cheeky. “You'd be my knight in shining armour if you did."

There had been an incident at the Arm Bar, and Matt was on his way to figure out what exactly happened. But apparently it involved a mirror and a kettleball. And of course it happened on a day that Matthew hadn't opened but someone else had for him. Yeah, he was worried about the mirror but he was more worried about the person that threw it at the mirror actually. Mirrors were replaceable at least that was the way he seen it as. Last thing he wanted was to lose someone from the gym because they had a bad experience.

Someone caught his attention, he wasn't sure if it was the groan or the fact that they asked him a question, Matthew stopped dead in his tracks. Noticing the truck that she was talking about. "Yeah, I can see it completely. You have not become delusional. I promise." He stated, moving over to her now. "I can give you had if you would like. I don't mind at all." Matthew offered, looking over at her.

Fletch was still slumped against her truck, nursing her throbbing foot, when a guy from the gym strolled over, his easy smile catching her attention. She recognised him, though they hadn’t crossed paths during the kettlebell disaster. “Good to know I’m not losing it,” she said with a dry laugh, glancing back at her deflated tire. His offer to help made her face light up“You’d be my hero if you did. Between almost destroying the gym and now this, I’m starting to think the universe is against me, I'm cursed."

She bounced down beside the man. "But fair warning, this truck is as stubborn as I am.” She gave the truck a little pat, jumping as it made a loud clunk from behind her.

Fletch practically stumbled out of The Arm Bar, her face still flushed from an incident with a kettlebell . The gym’s glass doors swung shut behind her, and she breathed out heavily, running a hand through her messy red hair. She could still hear the laughter she'd put on to try to hide her embarrassment. As much as she tried to laugh it off herself, the humiliation of sending a kettlebell crashing into the mirror was not something she’d soon forget.

She fumbled for her car keys, fishing them out of her gym bag, desperate to get home and away from the gym for a long time.But as she turned the corner of the parking lot and saw her old, beat-up truck, she stopped in her tracks.There it was, like the final cherry on top of this disaster sundae: a completely flat tire.

Fletch groaned, slapping her hand to her forehead. “You’ve got to be kidding me." She looked around, looking for anyone who might be able to help her. "Are you seeing this? Or have i finally become delusional?"

"Can you believe it? That ole' misses Miller's daughter went and got herself pregnant by a boy she barely knows!" Tilly could practically hear Jack now: "Tilly, darling you really shouldn't be speaking so ill willed towards people you don't even know." But that was the thing about becoming a widow; it made you realize exactly where you stood in life and most importantly the things that you had to hold onto once your entire world was gone. And in Tilly's case that had been when her husband had passed away and she'd realized how truly lonesome it felt. So to pass the time, the female would often be heard on the phone, walking the streets of the town, sticking her nose in places it didn't belong; she loved gossip, that was all there was to it. "Apparently she just took off and ran away, leaving her family, the inheritance, every thing behind. I couldn't imagine my Gracie doing that.." she truly sounded like one of those elderly women you saw on television sitcoms that would be seen sitting around the house in their robes, doing nothing but talking about everyone else. She was lost in conversation, clearly not paying any attention to anything, her head down as she walked. She looked up, but was only slightly too late when she bumped into the person who had stopped abruptly on the sidewalk. Gasping, she spilled her drink all over the person in front of her, abruptly speaking "I gotta go!" into the phone before hanging it up; placing it in her pocket as she looked at them. "I am so so sorry!" she exclaimed, grabbing a towel from a nearby stand - she'd have to pay for that later - to begin dabbing at the other's shirt. "I'm so scatter brained these days." she exhaled, knowing that was really no excuse.

Fletch stood frozen for a moment, feeling the liquid seep into the fabric of her brand-new dress. Not this... not today. She stared down at the stain spreading across the front of the beautiful flowy piece she’d splurged on, one she'd been so excited to wear for her first day at the dance studio. It had taken months of saving, and now it was ruined.

She blinked hard, fighting back tears that were dangerously close to spilling over. The woman in front of her, flustered and apologetic, was dabbing at her with a towel, but it didn’t seem to help much. Fletch took a deep breath, her red hair falling across her face as she looked down, trying to collect herself. “It’s okay,” she murmured, her voice soft and shaky, the lump in her throat making it hard to sound convincing. “Really, it’s just… an accident.” Just like everything else today, she thought, biting the inside of her cheek to keep from crying.

Her entire day had been a mess already. She'd missed her morning class, twisted her ankle during practice, and now this—her one piece of confidence, this dress that made her feel ready to step into the new chapter of her life at the studio—ruined. She tried to laugh it off, but it came out awkward and forced. “I’m just… having one of those days.” She brushed her hands down the soaked fabric, knowing it wouldn’t magically fix anything but needing to do something. "Can i... uh... get you something else?"

Did you kill him?” she half joked, although it felt like a question she had to ask. “It’s literally the only way to meet anyone these days, what’s the alternative? Talk to people in real life? I’d rather die if i’m honest.” She stuck out her tongue. “I think you’ve just described my dream night. It’s a date.”

Belle laughed, leaning against the counter. “Okay, yeah. That was a dumb question. It was totally rhetorical. Swear. I’m smart.” She smiled, looking over at her. “So… what’s going on in Jazz’s world?

Jazz smiled. “I can’t say you thought that one through.” She folded her arms. “Ah you know... working too hard, being endlessly alone, looking after my mom. Same old. How’s the baker who doesn’t know how ovens work?”
