As an Roleplayer in the Tumblr community, I’m fine with other muses commenting on posts my muse makes or reblogging asks I’ve been sent with their own take on what was posted about. In fact, I LIKE IT! It’s fun! But I’m not sure who else wants that interaction on their RP blog like this- so if you reblog this I’ll know it’s okay to interact with your character this way.

(Just remember don’t re-blog RolePlay threads that aren’t yours! Usually those are between specific people, and outside people reblogging them makes it difficult to keep track of when their partner has responded. Though he made an effort not to seem too enthusiastic, Donald was excited. He couldn’t remember the last time he’d spent the night at another’s house.

Spending a night at Goofy’s couldn’t be too bad. It’d be like sharing a hotel room, right? 

❝ I guess you’re right. It is pouring out, and the boys are mature enough to handle a night on their own.❞  

A pause.

❝ .. Or maybe not. ❞ 

Donald’s nephews weren’t the most well-behaved kids on the planet. Who knows what could happen if they had the house to themselves for a night. Thank goodness they didn’t know Daisy’s number. 

A remote was in his hand, flicking up the volume on the weather channel. Storm warning. Rain was already trickling down the windows and thunder was starting to come up.

“Awh, I wouldn’t worry about it.” Goofy smiled as he looked through his cabinet for extra pillows. “They’re good kids!” Well, they seemed good, anyway. Admittedly Goofy probably never saw the triplets at their worst... but how bad could three young ducks get?

Well, either way it was just one night. Goofy would drive Donald home ust as soon as the weather permitted to make sure his home was still intact. For now, he gave the duck a nice, fluffy pillow.

“Here ya go, Donald. Anything else ya need?”

He didn’t look mad. But why would he be mad in the first place? It’s Goofy. The most laid back toon he knew.

But, Donald was still paranoid. Time to get this over with, drop off the present, and check back in about ten years. He couldn’t face his best friend like this. Not after practically insulting him by not showing up.

..Did he really deserve to be left cake?

Don smiled weakly, melting into a chair and sliding the wrapped present under it discreetly.

Goofy didn’t waste any time fetching a plate for his old friend, with a generous slice of chocolate cake and vanilla ice cream. It was just like th Goof to happily tend to others’ needs, even on his own birthday. Of course, he got a slice for himself as well.

“Here we go. Cake and ice cream for the both of us! I made it myself this afternoon.” And he had even avoided making a mess in the process. He had to admit, he was proud of the feat.

“So,” Goofy said as he sat opposite the duck, “how ya been, Donald?”

He kicked his foot, dark beady eyes darting from the goof to the porch and back again. Oh sweet Disney. He’d been too caught up in his own shenanigans with José and Panchito that he’d forgotten his own best friend’s birthday!

❝ I just wanted to drop by. Especially since I probably missed your party..❞

Don mentally slapped himself. Don’t bring up the birthday yet!

The package he was trying to hide behind his back looked awful heavy.

Goofy was no fool. Well, mostly. He knew a guilty duck when he saw one. But he chose to pretend he didn’t notice.

Had Donald missed the party? Yes. But Goofy knew things came up. People forgot things. That was just life.

“I was just about ta put away some leftovers,” Goofy explained, “but since yer here why don’tcha come inside and have a bite? I saved ya some cake and ice cream.” Yeah, Donald had shown up late. But he showed up just the same. Goofy knew he would.

I am an impulsive roleplayer.

I let my muse take the reins and decide what threads to start or reply to in a given day. If the muse doesn’t feel it, it isn’t happening. That doesn’t mean that I hate you or that I no longer want to interact with you; I probably either lost our thread or my muse just said, ‘nah bro.’

I’m sorry I drop threads. I’m sorry I don’t reply to memes. I’m sorry I ignore my asks. I’m sorry I plot things and then don’t do them. I’m an impulsive roleplayer: my muse guides me.

Roleplaying isn’t my job: it’s my hobby. I do it for fun. My muse isn’t my coworker: my muse is my friend. We have fun together. If I started treating this as a job, it wouldn’t be enjoyable for me anymore, and the quality of my content would diminish greatly!

And while we’re on the subject, just because a thread gets dropped does not mean the relationship between our muses is dead!! Thread =/= relationship! We can start something new and continue building their bond! Relationships are important to building new aspects of our muses!

I always want to roleplay with you. Just…perhaps not with that thread. You feel?

9. Our muses have to share a bed for some reason. (Limited space, too many people in the house, for apocalypse: the house they find to stay in for the night could be fairly small, etc

“C’mon, Donald, it ain’t that bad.” Okay so being stuck in someone else’s house during a storm wasn’t an ideal situation... especially considering how tiny Goofy’s house was...But there were positives in everything. That’s what he believed, anyway. “It’ll be like a sleepover! Didn’tcha like sleepovers as a kid?”

Someone was rapping at Goofy’s door. Whatever it was for, it had to be for a darned good reason. It was well past the time for celebrating, and nightfall had already begun.

The bird stepped back from the door, rocking back and forth on his webbed feet. He was more nervous than he’d been in a long time.
