i can't be incredibly specific, both because it violates the terms i agreed upon to have my membership, but also because im not interested in giving details about my friends and fellows to people off the forum, but what struck me the most about it is how mundane it is. people there talk about their new years resolutions, a new video game they just started playing, a video game they made, their creative writing, everything you can find people talking about outside this group
i had heard of this forum years before i joined it, and i thought they were terrifying and disgusting people. i was told it was a csem ring. i was told all they did was drool over kids they had immediate access to. that's not true at all. theyre quick to shut down any glorification of csem and csa. theyre incredibly kind people. theres a handful of very dedicated members who are active in nearly every thread, who are always ready to voice support when someone feels disgusted or afraid of themself
many of us are survivors, myself included. its helped me understand my abuse more than any institution. its helped with the sickening, crushing guilt i have from being a victim and having these feelings. i'm no longer terrified of being around children because i know from friends on the forum that its possible to go your entire life without acting on it. one of the oldest members, both in age and tenure, passed away before i joined, but he was 73 when he went. he had never acted on it. it gives me hope for the future the way nothing else possibly could
i hope this gives others hope, too. boogeymen arent real, and there are pedophiles who walk among you who know what we are and will never act on it, regardless of what fearmongers say

hey so like, im seeing a lot of actually requited siscon love, and im gonna like. go on a rant about my own experience. i have for as long as i can remember, looked up to my older sister in some way, weather it was how she was so confident, or how pretty, or talented, or any of that. i always tried to make excuses to be around her, most of which kinda ended in nothing, or accidentally pushing too far and weirding her out, between my specific flavor of autism making it hard to understand virtually anything socially. especially body language and her anxiety and ptsd that resulted from.... lets just say "interesting" parenting choices. we'd do stuff, but it never really ever feels like enough, i dont feel like i know her well enough. i dont feel like we have the relationship we *should* have whatever that actually means i want to hug her. want to kiss her. i want to know her. i want to be with that amazing person i see everyday. but i know it will never happen. i know even bringing up that id ever even be into that would be social suicide. i know that i was never actually a good enough sibling to ever be worth it. maybe in some other life. maybe if i grew up as her sister like she said i was supposed to when mom was pregnant with me. maybe then we'd be even a fraction of an amount closer. but now i just sit here. i avoid her gaze. i try not to bother her. we'll never be like them. she probably wouldn't even want it if i *was* a better sibling. i just.... wish.... wish things were different. you know
