this is my fic written for @justadreamfox for the spring exchange!! it got a lot longer than I expected, but here’s a magic library au!! i had a blast working with your prompts and i hope you enjoy! :D

Andrew needed a cigarette. He had a pack in his pocket, and he itched to light it and taste the bitter nicotine, but being chased by two squad cars full of pigs and four delinquents that wanted Andrew’s head on a pike left him with little opportunity. He hadn’t been the one to tip off the police about their little gatherings, but that didn’t matter. What mattered was that the road was ending and Andrew was coming up on a dead end.

He ducked behind a dumpster, bending over to catch his breath in an attempt not to pass out. He might be able to pack a punch, but running had never been his forte.

Red and blue lights flashed across the wall as one of the cop cars crawled past, the pigs scanning for any sign of Andrew or any of the other guys that had scattered after the raid. Andrew knew to give it a couple minutes before leaving his stinking sanctuary, and he waited a few more in case they circled back or one of his former associates tried to ambush him. Hopefully the pigs would arrest them and leave Andrew to get caught street-fighting another day.

DAY 11 : talk about your siblings

I need to get better at actually doing these on the right day so I’m more motivated to write a lengthy thing but oh well.

I love my siblings more than anything in the entire world. For a lot of them I’ve taken on some sort of secondary motherly figure to them and while this can be annoying because obviously they are not my actual children I wouldn’t trade this type of love I have for them for the stereotypical bully of an older sister. Ever. 

I want so badly to watch them grow up. I’m leaving for college next year and I guarantee to you that I will cry my eyes out even though I’ll only be about an hour away. I just don’t want to miss out on anything. I feel like as an adult I’ll still stick close by so I can watch sports games, be there for dances, graduations, everything that’s important to them and not just a voice over the phone. I want to be there.

DAY 10 : your best friend

Now this is a hard topic. I know who I would say is my best friend to myself but the problem is I could never say it out loud. I have about 4 or 5 other people who would claim to be my best friend and in a way they are because I treasure all of my friends. The person I picked to have the title of best friend in my mind is really there just because of how life worked out. I see her basically every single day and so therefore we just know almost everything about each other and see each other in so many difference circumstances and just in general go through everything together. But that’s just how life is. Just because someone is your person doesn’t mean other people in life are meaningless. I love all of them. That’s why it would never be fair for me to say out loud who my best friend is.

Not me being 3 days behind

Apparently it’s never going to be a truly daily thing but it’ll get done anyway...

DAY 9 : write about happiness

I’m pretty sure I talked about happiness before but I’ll do it again I guess.

I’d say I’m a generally happy person. It takes a lot for me to be mad or upset so therefore I feel like I fall back on being happy. I am stressed a lot though as in like 24/7 but at this point you get used to it, especially when it’s a part of your mental illness. 

Like lots of things in like the things that make me the happiest also bring me the most stress but if I wasn’t stressed I wouldn’t be where I am today if that makes any sense at all. 

I love how this kinda turned into me talking about stress rather than happiness but happiness is pretty hard to write about. I feel like a lot of time there it isn’t the strongest feeling in the world and sometimes there’s no real reason for it.

DAY 8 : the power of music

After this I will finally be caught up and can do something else with my time! Yay!

Anyway, power of music. I love music. It’s my number one strategy to calm myself down from a panic attack. I think that’s the real power of music for me personally. 

Music can distract me from the negative thoughts and feelings I have and put me and a whole new upbeat or relaxed mood depending on the vibe of music I decide to listen to. That’s another thing. Before a competition or a test or a date or just anything nerve wracking music is the absolutely best thing to pump me up and make me feel ready to take it on.

I love music.

DAY 7 : favorite movie

I don’t really watch movies that often to be honest with you. Don’t get me wrong I love movies I just have a hard time starting them because I think too much about the amount of time I have to commit to just sitting down and watching a movie.

That being said I love the Harry Potter movies of course, Jurassic Park, Lost Girls made me cry, honestly I watch more true crime documentaries than actual movies....

DAY 6 : single and happy

Well this is awkward. I am happy... but I’m not single. 

I was single and happy 8 months ago but now I’m in a relationship and happy.

I don’t really know what to write for this haha. I love my boyfriend, he’s the best, I wish I could see him more often but it’s kinda hard because pandemic things and we also both have our own things going on but we make it work.

I don’t know if you can tell but doing 8 days of this back to back is starting to get kinda boring.... each day will probably be longer when I’m finally caught up and only doing one a day so tomorrow will be better trust me.

DAY 5 : your parents

My dad is a very strict and serious dude. He has an intimidating look to him and I’m sure he probably scares some people. I’m not scared of him though and I think he’s great. We both speak sarcasm fluently so that’s basically the only way we talk to each other.

My mom is super extroverted happy giggly person, kinda the opposite of my dad, i love her, we’re really close we laugh about everything and tell each other basically everything that goes on in our lives.

DAY 4 : places you want to visit

Everywhere. Done.

Just kidding I’ll think of some specifics. Paris and other places in France, I’m not learning French for nothing. Italy definitely, I want to see where my mom lived as a kid. California. New York City. Maine. Argentina. Portugal. 

There’s more but I picked the ones that have like a deeper meaning of why I want to visit those places. Anywhere else would obviously be amazing but it wouldn’t be as meaningful.

DAY 3 : a memory

The first one that comes to mind isn’t exactly a pleasant one but I’ll tell it anyway.

A couple years back almost all of my siblings were sitting in my mom’s car in our garage. My mom had run inside to grab something which you’d think would be fine. But the car wasn’t parked so the car began rolling down our driveway. We lived on a hill so the car just started to speed up. It was really scary. My first instinct was to open the car door and get out but my siblings are young and have the safety seats and stuff so if I did that I couldn’t get them out. My oldest brother was in the back with one of our youngest brother’s he immediately grabbed our younger brother’s head. He was afraid that we were going to crash backwards into the trees and his instinct was to protect him from any head injuries. The idea of that still makes me want to cry. Fortunately the car turned and rolled into the street (no cars were there thankfully) and I had managed to throw myself into the front seat and hold the brake with my hand. My mom obviously found the car and she just got in and kept on with her day like we hadn’t just experienced a traumatizing moment. 

Everyone was okay and I hold no grudges it is a fun story now I guess. My mom was simply in shock and didn’t know what else to do and didn’t want to freak out my younger siblings who didn’t really comprehend what had just happened.

DAY 2 : things that make you happy

Oh boy is this a long list.

Family: I love my family so much. I have a big family and I’m the oldest of all my siblings and I would die for them. They can be so annoying sometimes but I love them probably more than anything. I love my parents too, I’m really close to my mom like when people say their mom is their best friend that is almost true for me. I’m so lucky to have a family like this I know not everyone does.

Friends: I’ve had up and downs with friends but my best friend makes me really happy. I hang out with her almost every single day and we’re always talking. We tell each other everything, we do basically any activity together. I’m so glad I met her.

Cheerleading: Cheerleading makes me insanely happy. My current team is full of such positive people it’s the best team environment I have EVER been in and I love it. I love my coach and I’m close to basically everyone on my team. Practice can be so hard but I wouldn’t give it up for the world.

Dance: I just started dancing this year but I love it, it’s so freeing for me and I feel like it’s helping me work on my confidence and to be able to not care what anyone thinks about me. You can’t be afraid of how you look when you’re dancing, you’re going to feel silly but that’s how you know you’re doing it right. 

My dogs: I have two dogs and I love them they make me happy. We also might be fostering a cat soon which makes me so excited and happy too.

There’s definitely so many other things but I’d say this is a good summary of the main ones.

Hi guys!

Been a while... anyway, I decided I wanted to do a 30 day writing challenge as I realized I haven’t done much writing. I decided to do a more personal one just about my life I found on pinterest. Also, I’m aware I’m 8 days late and I’ll be catching up on those days today probably. Anyway this is day one.

DAY 1 : describe your personality

Describing my personality is a difficult one. Sometimes I have a hard time with this one because sometimes there is such a big difference between how I see myself and how other people see me.

I’m rather quiet, I don’t really talk that much to people I don’t know and that gives me a very shy and innocent kind of aura to myself. It doesn’t help that I’m often mistaken to be several years younger than I actually am. I’m definitely introverted, no doubt, but lately I’ve been coming out of my shell. I’ve been talking to new people online and in my everyday activities. 

I’m really relaxed and laid back, it takes a lot for me to get riled up, for the most part I just like to go with the flow but I’m also an overthinker. I have anxiety but that’s getting better so I don’t overthink too much anymore. 

I’ve been told I’m wise and smart, sometimes I don’t feel like I am but I think that’s just me being insecure.

In conclusion I’d say I’m an introverted calm and collected but overall happy person. Sometimes I have my bad moments of course but I try to stay present, think about what is good in my life right now and not worry all the time about what could go wrong.
