I've seen some takes (TM) on social media, so I'm breaking my silence.

"Ra-ik and Se-na should not end up together" this show is marketed as a romance with them as the leads, so they will end up together, and hoping for a different outcome makes me question why are you even watching this.

"they are making Ra-ik too sympathetic" that's because... he is???? He was taken advantage of and exploited by everyone around him ever since he was a child, and his entire worldview was twisted as a result. He's a broken man who deserves happiness.

"Se-na's behaviour towards Ra-ik is unhinged at times" yes, and that's exactly the point of her journey and her evolution as a character, the idea is for her to learn to see the human behind the idol persona, and to kill the idol, so to speak. If that makes her a horrible person and an unsuitable partner for Ra-ik to you, fair, but again, why are you still watching?

"Se-na and the prosecutor should end up together" ah yes, sure, she should end up with the bully who still speaks to her in a condescending manner, and whom she has explicitly said she dislikes.

i actually really like the commentary in the drama regarding these issues because i think it is what a lot of fans need to hear, entitled or not. people create a false image about their idols and are disappointed or surprised when they do not conform to the ideals that they made up.

then again, the industry pushes their idols to be pretty packages that aren't human and solely exist for our entertainment which is why some people feel so comfortable being entitled. while this doesn't excuse the fans behaviour at all, it acts as another factor of why idols aren't treated properly with basic respect and decency
