if he’s not out of office by march i say we just rob him
why wait we know his KY address and we know he's not there
The only thing "free" about so-called free time is that it doesn't cost the boss anything. Free time is mostly devoted to getting ready for work, going to work, returning from work, and recovering from work. Free time is an euphemism for the peculiar way labor as a factor of production not only transports itself at its own expense to and from the workplace but assumes primary responsibility for its own maintenance and repair.

The argument for standing desks (intended to sell them) that humans didn’t “evolve to” sit at a desk all day is so absurd... how is the solution to this standing at a desk all day lol? That’s also awful, and worse or impossible for many people (ask cashiers). What we’re not “evolved to do” is sell 40+ hours a week of our lives to companies who pay us a fraction of the value we create. We’re not evolved to stare at a corporate screen or fake politeness for customers or tear ourselves away from the things & people we actually care about for so many hours a week that we have broken spirits and exhausted bodies even in our “free” time. That onion article about scientists recommending not only standing at your desk but walking right out of the office is both very funny and genuinely accurate (not that scientific institutions are actually recommending it, but the science supports it)
The EU must do something about France
THE FRENCH PARLIAMENT HAS DROPPED THIS LAW IN ITS CURRENT FORM
they are attempting to rewrite it though, it seems

Please know that there were massive demonstrations and walk, it wasn't hust "they decided it would be bad on their own" ; also, please know how fucking cruel it is to try to pass laws while a deadly virus makes any form of protest very dangerous
Speaking of protests there will be more this coming Saturday, December 5th, since they've only taken down one article in the whole law (and the whole law should be trashed), and they intend to rewrite it in the incredibly islamophobic law they're voting next week.
The Loitering for the Purpose of Prostitution law, also known as the #WalkingWhileTrans law, has done significant damage to our community, especially trans women of color, by allowing police to arbitrarily arrest and detain New Yorkers for simply walking around or standing on the street.
The #WalkingWhileTrans law gives individual officers the authority to judge whether an individual “looks” like they are “loitering for the purpose of prostitution” and arrest them. Thanks to the intersection of racism, transphobia, and misogyny, trans women of color “look” more like sex workers in the eyes of cops – thus TWOC are more likely to be detained under this law, and more likely to experience violence at the hands of police.
The New York City Council held a remote hearing on this law (Res. 0923), and an additional resolution (Res. 1444) to seal the convictions made under this law this morning at 10am, but you can STILL SUBMIT WRITTEN TESTIMONY up to 72 hours after the close of the meeting without prior registration.
Stand in solidarity with trans New Yorkers and sex workers by submitting written testimony against the #WalkingWhileTrans bill to [email protected], or at council.nyc.gov/testify.

Mentioning because they have a Canadian “chapter” that needs to be reported and taken down.

If you reblogged the Stonehenge petition read this
As an archaeology student who studied Stonehenge, I was horrified by the news that they wanted to build a tunnel anywhere near Stonehenge. So, of course, I posted the petition here. I was glad to see it get near 70k notes, but those notes laid bare another issue that is demonstrative of why archaeological sites are so undervalued. Many sites across the world struggle to get funded and excavation seasons are relegated to a tight schedule with a minimal team and resources.
The tunnel at Stonehenge should be infuriating because the government will pour over 1b into building this tunnel but have consistently denied funding to excavations. The tunnel will destroy approximately half a million artefacts that have not yet been studied. No thought is given to excavating first. Who knows what history this will be wiped from the archaeological record.
Stonehenge is NOT just the surface level stones. It cannot be moved, and no, it can’t be tunnelled under without harm for the sake of reducing noise pollution or lessening traffic.
Stonehenge is an archaeological LANDSCAPE. This means that below the surface of the earth, there lies everything from the foundations of pre-historic villages, evidence of ritual feasting, cremated human remains, proof of long distance travel, and thousands of years of history of use and building. It is all vital to our understanding of our ancient ancestors and gives us a glimpse into their lives and beliefs that precious few other sites have given us.
Protecting Stonehenge isn’t about protecting a few strange rocks, it is about protecting our history.
just remember, “poverty” is a social construct. when the economy collapses, the farms don’t disappear. goods don’t vanish from the stores. poverty is created through exclusion. it is violence. so when you see articles about how the pandemic could “plunge billions into poverty,” please remember that it’s not the virus that’s creating poverty.
if i have a warehouse stored full of grain, and a drought wipes out your crops, it’s not the climate that’s making you starve, it’s me with my refusal to share my stockpile.
