Happy New Year!

Happy (late) New Year!! Sorry I hadn’t been posting much. I plan to hold myself accountable this new quarter, and to really push myself further in design, whether that be to further my exploration in design or deepen my understanding.... but maybe both. Both is good.

Cheers to a hopefully rich quarter!

Began working on a group project with some classmates and it’s going wonderfully! We’re really solidifying the foundation for our app that we’ll be “developing” and moving into prototyping soon. I’m just so thankful that my group members were as excited about this project as I was.

Watched the sunset last night while I planned out my priorities for the rest of the week and read. I am honestly thankful for my quiet quarter this fall to work on myself, but I also can’t wait to feel like I have a direction again.

Studying doesn’t always require desks especially when you could sit next to your heater on this chilly, cloudy day instead. Empty cups of tea and amazing techno playlists by mrsuicidesheep on YouTube are keeping me company through my note taking. Design of Everyday Things by Don Norman is super interesting but not easy for me to understand the first time through so I’m rereading and making sticky notes to simplify his terms and theories.

Theme Trouble: Video Preview

The only problem I had with my theme was that it wouldn’t preview the videos I was posting, and so after three months I finally took the time to go in and change it.

For anyone who wants to have their videos previewed on their tumblr and wondering how they can go about doing that, this is a good place to start.

It’s meant for vimeo but it shows you how to embed a video. Just be careful because the code provided will only display that one video specifically. You’ll have to go in and figure out how to get it to play the appropriate video for every video post. I ended up kind of just figuring it out slowly by looking up other theme codes, but it’s a good place to start for sure! Have fun with it!

As I’m in between busy quarters (hopefully), I’m devoting all my time and energy in to my Interactive Design or User Experience Design lecture class. I’m having fun with it, allowing myself to explore new ways to study and organize myself. Thankfully my professor is amazing!! So down to earth and makes everyone so easy to understand or will take the time for us to understand. She might be new, but is she great!
