foolish freaking out /pos after they had their first kiss
They kissed. Kissed.
Him and Tina. Tina and him.
It was late, almost four in the morning, and he just walked her back to her basement room after hours of snuggling while watching a show on Tina's and her roommates' sofa. He knew they were headed to it, knew that those heated eye contacts were building up for that moment, but anticipation was not preparation and Foolish now knew he was forever ruined.
He walked up the stairs, headed back to his guest room, and the warm imprint of Tina's body still lingered on his skin. He recalled how she was settled in the crook of his arm, her head placed comfortably on him, the smell of her apple shampoo surrounding him. Foolish's body tensed so he put a hand against the wall to steady himself, stopping in the middle of the stairs. A wave of not-so-innocent warmth flooded his veins as he remembered how Tina's bare thighs touched his knees, how her big brown eyes looked up at him in the dimness of the room. She licked her lips, then, a signal so obviously waved that it would be a disservice not to give in.
He was only human, he argued with himself. Only a dumb, starving man. And he was so stupidly into her, so stupidly in love with her, what was the point of not kissing her?
So he did. And he was ruined.
His mind blanked when it happened, only remembering the heat and the smell of her. Only remembered that life would never be the same again.
He'd kissed other girls before, this was not his first rodeo. But it was never this serious, never this intense. This was Tina. Tina, the girl he'd been thinking about for years. Tina, his best friend.
Foolish never in his life had a panic attack before but he could feel himself on the verge of one right now. It was getting harder to breathe, and how embarrassing would it be to pass out on the stairs right now? What's going to happen? He cannot lose her, would he? Whatever he was feeling was obviously reciprocated, Tina did not kiss at random. Every moment between them since they've met felt like it was headed to this. Would it be deranged to believe she was it for him?
Fuck, he wanted to kiss her again. Would it be too late to knock on her door and ask for more? He's being a greedy bastard, but there was no shame in wanting her, no shame in loving her.
He straightened and took off his hand from the wall before turning around to go down the stairs two steps at a time. He stopped in front of her room door, inhaling a deep breath before breathing out his jitters. He raised his knuckles to knock only for the door to swing open before his hand touched the wood.
"Foolish?" Tina asked in surprised, her eyes twinkling in the dark.
"I- um," He stuttered, caught off guard. "I, I wanted to say that-"
He couldn't finish whatever bullshit he was about to spout, not when Tina grabbed his shirt and dragged him down to claim his lips with her own on her tiptoes. Foolish's eyes were wide but he immediately closed them shut, his arm pulling her body into him as she moans in relief. It wasn't his imagination, then, kissing Tina really was life-altering.
"Come to bed with me?" She asked in between kisses, and really, who was he to say no to that?

"Was that Tina?" Foolish flinched as he locked his phone close, his long call with Tina while he walked along the beach just ended a few moments ago before his sisters intruded his peace. He turned to face Moo and Ems who were staring at him with wide eyes, blatant curiosity as their expressions. Their mom was a couple of yards away behind them, taking selfies with the ocean as her background, ignorant of the sibling confrontation currently happening.
"That was Tina, right? I saw her discord picture," Ems pestered, adding to what Moo asked first. Foolish wanted to dismiss his sisters' line of inquiry, he had a sure idea of where this conversation was headed and he wasn’t sure if he wanted to deal with it right now.
"Yeah, it was," He said with a shrug.
"That was a long phone call..." "It was? I didn't notice." "And you were grinning a lot, mom had to ask who you were talking to." "It was Tina." "So are you guys together now?" Moo asked quick, the corner of her lips tilting up with a building smirk. Foolish started chuckling then turned to continue is walk, trust his little sisters to want in on his business. Moo and Ems rushed to his sides to match his pace, the girls trapping him in between the two of them.
"You are!" Moo exclaimed loudly, cackling at Foolish's face. Foolish laughed in disbelief. "Are you actually, Noah?" Ems asked him in wonder, her eyes shimmering. "Why didn't you tell us earlier?" Foolish stopped walking to look at the ocean, hands on his hips while he sighed. "Cause it doesn't matter, it barely changes anything." Moo attempted to shove him to which he dodged. She laughed again. "STUPID! Of course it changes everything!"
Ems giggled along her sister then grabbed their brother's arm, holding unto it tightly in affection. "We're so happy. Finally! Oh my God!" Foolish felt his cheeks warm, he never expected his sisters to react this exuberantly. "You denied it for years! Years, Noah! We had to watch you as you longingly waited for her messages. We saw you checking her stream out in the middle of our outings! Mom and dad have been asking us about you two every time you fly to LA and we couldn't say anything," Ems explained and Foolish saw bright spots in her eyes. His chest clenched in tenderness, he knew what his family thought of him and Tina, they never failed to let it be known every time he visited them in Ohio. He knew how worried his mother was, how she scolded him once, "Pursue her or let her go, Noah. It's disgraceful to do things in half-measures."
Damn, it really was a long time coming. Loving her was inevitable. “Yeah, I was dumb,” He confessed quietly while his heart beat loudly in his chest, a common occurrence whenever he thought of Tina. His best friend and girlfriend. Insane, that. “Since when? Did it happen when you guys went to New York?” Ems excitedly asked while Moo interjected. “No, I bet it happened back in May. When I went to California and he was at her place!”
Foolish shook his head before he spoke, “It happened naturally, so you two are technically both right and wrong.”
“Dude, that’s actually so romantic,” Moo teased.
“What’s romantic?”
Three siblings turned their heads to look at their bright faced mother, her lovely head tilted in curiosity. His sisters smirked at him before heading towards her, both of them kissing each of her cheeks as they walked past her.
“Noah has something to tell you, mom~” Moo snickered under her breath as she turned back to make a face at her brother. Foolish gave her a rude gesture before his mom smacked his hand.
“Behave! What is this all about?” She asked as she grabbed his arm to hold unto, guiding him to continue their walk along the shore. Their mother was barely at his shoulders, and Foolish could feel her wavy hair caressing the side of his jaw as the wind swept her strands up. Foolish didn’t speak for a while. The waves crashed against their ankles while the seagulls squawked above them. He was still lost for words which was stupid since this was his mom, out of everyone, she would know him the most.
“Tina.”
“Ah,” his mother stopped walking then tilted her face up at him, a huge smile on her lips while her eyes shone knowingly. “I knew it. Was she the one you were talking to on the phone?”
Foolish nodded, biting his lips as a hand went up to scratch his neck. Embarrassment roiled in his stomach, an unfamiliar emotion for him. He did not understand how opening up about one’s love life like this came with trepidation. He wasn’t like this about his exes before. However, the girls before weren’t Tina, and that made everything different.
“I’ve been praying for this, waiting for this,” his mother whispered in reverence, in affection. “Son, it was about time, I am so happy, you better— What’s wrong?”
His mom let go of his arm to fully face Foolish, her face worried. Foolish shook his head and gave her a grin.
“Nothing’s wrong mom, I’m just a bit scared,” he admitted but quickly added, “but I’ll get over it, I don’t even know why—“
His mother pulled him in into an embrace and Foolish was taken aback.
“It’s because you love her, Noah.”
He did. He did. And she loved him back. And the world felt right, it felt whole.
“Yeah, I do.”
“And she loves you back?” She asked quietly.
Foolish swallows a lump in his throat before nodding, “she told me she does.”
“And you guys decided to work this out, is this why you’re terrified?”
He nodded again and his mother let go of him, the exuberant smile back on her beautiful face.
“Good, I am proud of you two. This is adulthood, Noah. You find your person and you never let her go!” She grinned while she looped her arm around his again, squeezing him in comfort.
“Thanks, mom.” He laughed, the pressure in his chest abating. What a privilege it was to have a mother like this.
also im sorry that youve never had an emotionally intense friendship that confused other people including you and the other person. its really thrilling. hope you can experience it some day
people in main gcs being here feels wrong but right at the same time idk
oh there are definitely some people from main here, they probably mainly hang around burns blog now cause thats where we do the stalking/tracking now. They like to know just as much as us, same hyperfiaxtion after all
oh I dont think they are here, I think they would be far more embarrassed of themselves if they were but i do just think it would be because of the qrt roasting the fuck out of them
