I should update everyone! Not only are we celebrating Misto’s 2nd Christmas, but this little man recently became a big brother!

Vera, a six month old kitten who lived with one of the rescues I work with at my vet hospital, recently joined our family when my 11 year old sister fell in love with her. It took him a few days, but they’re thick as thieves now!

every time someone characterizes percy jackson, the character who was literally created FOR disabled kids so they have a positive role model bc every adult in their life is telling them they will never be anything bc of their disability but here's this kid in your favorite book series who's disabled and he's cool and he's street smart and he's regular smart too but he doesn't do well in school because of his disability but that doesn't make him any less smart or useful or anything else, as a dumb guy who needs his girlfriend or mom to guide him through life an angel loses his wings (i’m looking at you RICHARD)

I’m a good portion ethnically Jewish but I’m religiously Christian and wearing a crucifix regularly, though it’s under my shirt most of the time. About a month after I started working at my vet hospital, me and the techs and assistants got onto the subject of ethnicity and I said I’m half-Jewish on my mom’s side (while wearing my crucifix above my shirt) but that I wasn’t raised in the religion because my mom wasn’t. 

Four months later, it’s December, and one of the techs walks up to me and goes, “Happy Hanukkah! I don’t much about it, but it sounds cool. I hope you have fun.” 

And I was like… “Edie… no… I’m not religiously Jewish…” and held up my crucifix. The one I was wearing over my scrubs. Visible.
